Too much soy?
First let me say that I'm not looking for a debate. I know there will be conflicting views, and that's fine, but I was just wondering what would be considered "too much soy" if there is such a thing. I am neutral because ive read things about soy, but so many people say eat it liberally, and then an equal amount advise to…

Is anyone maintaining without counting calories?
I've been maintaining successfully for the past few months and it's great, but from day to day I just add up a round about of my calories, but lately it's becoming a little obsessive and unhealthy. I just want to focus on eating well, maintaining and listening to my body. I wouldn't be opposed to continuing to roughly…

How do I lose body fat?
I've done it before in a very unhealthy way and long story short, I'm at a stable, healthy weight for my height and I've been maintaining this weight for a few months. I tend to fluctuate between 22-24% bf and I don't really mind it, but how would I go about losing some? Thanks!

Fell off the wagon---let's chat
Today I fell off the wagon a bit and had a bit of a binge day/ a day to just enjoy myself. Totally unplanned, filled with yummy veggies and sweets and probably way over 3000 calories. Minimal exercise, but I worked out and I enjoyed myself. I got to have things I do t always have. I'm happy and very ready to get back on…

Nearing the end of my rope...
I have to vent. I'm in maintenance, but id like to be a little more fit. I exercise daily, but I still eat too much sometimes. Sometimes is okay, it typically happens on the weekends, but also when I'm bored and I feel like I have no control. I'm very small, so I can maintain on very little, but I exercise so I can eat…

Working out, minimal sweat?
I work out pretty vigorously (elliptical at least 4 days a week, for anywhere from 45-60 minutes, occasionally a run on the treadmill for no more than 30 minutes and on the days where I don't do that, it's 25-75 minutes of kickboxing/ other home cardio workouts. I also lift aroun 4 times a week) but I don't sweat very…

My itsy bitsy teenie weenie NSV
Today I dug out the 'kini that I haven't worn since last summer. I've put on around 5 pounds since the beginning of summer, but its because I was previously unhealthy. Those 5 lbs were not part of the required gain back to a healthy weight, but rather the result of trying to get out of the binge/restrict cycle and getting…

Will it last?
Today I tried tofurkey hickory smoked deli slices and I love them! Id like to make sandwiches to take with me to school, but I'm not sure if the tofu would last in my brown bag. It wouldn't be eaten until 5ish hours after it was prepared. Is it a good idea? Do you think it will last?

DISNEY WORLD
Hi! I am going to DISNEY WORLD in March. I'm at a generally good weight, though maybe I could lose a pound or two. I would like to look more fit for when I go to Disney, but I don't want some quick fix. Over the past 3 weeks I started lifting and squating heavier. But what I really want is a nice flat stomach. I KNOW THERE…

Net Calories! Help!
I would like to lose some weight---just about 4 lbs. I am 18, I weigh 97 lbs and this is okay because I am only 4'9". Id like to lose a few pounds so I can shape up a bit. I currently do cardio at least 5 days a week (usually the weekends I do lighter cardio, so if that counts, it makes 7 days) and I lift weights at least…

Lots of celebrating--dilemma
SO the holidays are over...NOT. My birthday is January 4th. Let me start by saying that this holiday season, I did pretty well with maintaining my weight and enjoying myself without gorging too bad. I worked out pretty well. But my birthday is coming. There are a bunch of different people who would like to celebrate with…

Does fat really matter?
I've heard it doesn't, and I'd like to think that. But what about good fat vs. Bad fat?

Need Advice! Coworker Scenario
Well I work at a bakery and also a deli. I have a coworker at the deli and she's a pretty good friend of mine. However, she's always so caught up in what's "good". I know many things about nutrition and exercise, so I don't mind when she comes to me with questions. The problem is, sometimes she looks to me for the approval…

My tiny NSV
So today I successfully lifted and squared about a quarter of my body weight. I was sort of surprised! I'm sure there are people that do stuff like that daily, in fact, they probably lift half of their body weight, maybe more! But this is the first time I've ever done something like this. I'm ready to keep going!

Foods you hated as a child but love now?
For me, it's milk in my cereal! I still hate dairy milk but I love soymilk in granola or cheerios. Didn't like peppers and I like 'em now and also tomatoes, but now I really have to be in the mood to eat tomatoes. Same with oranges. I also hated bananas! I love them now!

Fat intake
My fat intake has been a little high lately. Some from good things (almonds, nut butters, coconut milk) but mostly from added butter while cooking (Darn it thanksgiving! I never cook with butter) sweets, yogurts, cream cheese and an order of fries last night (the fries I get once a week, almost every week). I have been…

When the body repairs itself...
Does it matter what kind of calories it uses? My intake on a day to day basis tends to be on the lowish side, and I work out pretty hard Monday through Friday. Saturdays and Sundays are busy with work and errands, plus I'll try to squeeze some light workouts in on these days. But usually Friday, Saturday and sometimes…

Smoothie Question!
I love smoothies, but sometimes I can't make them in the morning. If I were to make a smoothie overnight and refrigerate it, do you think it would still taste good? Would it last? Usually I put spinach, bananas, sometimes soy or coconut milk, blueberries, PB2, etc

Thoughts on "treating yourself"?
I just enjoyed a brownie about 4 inches long, maybe 2 inches thick. It was topped with chocolate chips. And I washed it down with a glass of light soy milk. And I did this because that's what I really wanted. It wasn't because I've been "good" but just because I was hungry and I was craving it. I knew that would satisfy…

Yummy "Island-themed" breakfast!
I've had some coconut-almonds milk I've been trying to use up, as I'm not a big fan of drinking it straight. I do like the light coconutty flavor though  So what I've made was a coconut milk pancake batter. -24 grams of standard pancake mix (I used Wegman's brand) -1/4 cup of Almond Coconut milk (I used Almond…

Working Out for 45 minutes-Myth or Fact?
Someone told me that if you do cardio, you start to burn pure fat to use as fuel after 45 minutes. So first off, I want to know if this is true. Then, I was wondering how it works. Say I run for an hour. Does that mean I spend 45 minutes burning carbs and then 15 burning fat? Or if I ran for 45 minutes, and then that was…
