Aches/Pains/Massage/Market Research/Your Opinions Please!
Your Opinion Is Needed!! (please) !!! I really hope nobody minds me posting this here, but I'm just after lots of different opinions to help me with my new job. So I keep hearing people out and about in general conversations moaning that they're aching here, this hurts, they are stiff there, etc.... Just wondering if that…

Fit Bit/ Sleep Tracker
Hi, My mum has asked for a device to track her sleep for mother's day and I see that Fit Bit do one, I'm just wondering how exactly does it work? And is it accurate? Or are there any other brands more available? She's not a massive computer user either, do you have to plug them in to computers to see the results? Thanks…

UK Personal Trainer/Fitness/Nutritionists Careers Advice
Howdy! I'm currently doing a massage qualification and have found the anatomy part so interesting. I'd love to learn more, but I don't really know which way to take it. I have also found myself more and more interested in exercise and nutrition and wonder whether to go down this route. I would love to hear from any UK…

Drop 2 Sizes
Hello, Might be a dumb question, but.... Does anyone know what sort of results I can expect by following the exercise plan but not the diet plan of Rachel Cosgrove's book? I hate following a diet plan because I don't like being told what to eat, but just wondered if I stuck to a sensible amount of calories would I still…

BWC
Hi, My electronic scales give you your weight, your body fat measurement and then BWC, which I think is Body Water Content. Anyway, I've read that the body fat one isn't that accurate, I'm just wondering what people's opinion is on the body water bit? I think it seems to be a bit random, for example, I just did mine this…

Bread and Butter
One of my favourite foods is a slice of bread and butter. I do put a lot of butter on my bread and my boyfriend always makes some sort of comment. Anyway, up until now I've been including the butter in my calories because I just don't want to give it up. But the last couple of days I've found myself resenting the butter…

Wide Grip Lat Pulldown
Hello! I'm following New Rules of Lifting for Women and am on Stage 1. I've been doing the alternative to the wide grip lat pulldown (dumbbell pullover) at home on the floor. Today I tried it at the gym with the proper machine. Doing dumbbell pullovers at home on the floor I can manage 10kg for 12 reps. At the gym on the…

Tex Mex Restaurant Calories
Hi, I'm going to a tex mex restaurant tomorrow, never been to one before, I've tried searching the food database, but it doesn't seem to come up with much. Does any one have any rough guesses of the calories in any meals that may possibly be available on a typical tex mex menu? I'm guessing they're going to be quite high!…

Weighing more in the morning
I know that weight can fluctuate a few pounds each day, but in my head that means you weigh less in the morning and more at night. Well... just out of interest, last night I weighed myself. This morning I did it again and the scales said 4lb more this morning than last night. Isn't that backwards? Or does anyone else get…

How to get this shape?
I've been googling fitness models and keep noticing the shape of some of their hips (as circled). My question is: are there any exercises that can be done to specifically target that area, or is it just something that comes with low body fat?

Birthday celebration ideas
I'm turning 30 on 14th February and am trying to think of a way to celebrate. I don't really want a big party because I don't have enough friends nearby. I want it to feel special and ideally would like it to be something that my whole family can join in with and enjoy. I am completely stumped for ideas, so am asking for…

So what's the difference between a "diet" and a "sustainable life change"? Just interested to see different people's opinions of the 2 after the "I'm happier heavier" post.

Hair dilemma!

Bent Over One Arm Dumbbell Row
Are you supposed to feel certain muscles 'working' when you do this exercise? I can feel that the exercise is hard work and my last rep is always hard work, but I can never feel it working any particular muscle(s). But if I'm doing something like a tricep kickback, for example, I can actually feel the triceps working. Do…

Aching 2 days later...
Does anyone else get muscle aches from working out 2 days later? I used to get the aches and muscle stiffness the day after working out, but now I'm getting it 2 days afterwards. It just seems a bit weird because it's new for me. Thanks
