Fearlessness
I was in CVS and the headline on a magazine was something like "How to live life fearlessly". It just made me wonder - is that possible? Or something anyone would even want? Is fear beneficial or merely a hindrance? I've always tied fear into bravery and courage, so it's never been a bad thing to me, but it made me wonder…

I'm stalling
Today I'm at the same weight I was a month ago. There have been some fluctuations in that time period, but here I still am. Prior to this, I was losing steadily. I weigh and carefully log all my food in my diary (it's also open) - I've gone over my calorie intake exactly one time in 76 days. I'm active at least 5 times a…

Metformin and Appetite
I'm going to be making an appt with my doctor for this coming week - but I thought I'd ask here. I'm one of those super obnoxious people that has trouble meeting 1200 calories a day. I don't eat diet foods, I don't eat "clean". I just eat regularly, but I get full really fast. I now have several snacks throughout the day…

One of those weeks
I just need to whine a bit, so I can get over myself. Sunday, our refrigerator went out. Monday, the oven/display on our stove stopped working, and a water line burst in our yard. Tues and Wednesday were relatively calm (aside from some flooding). Thursday all the power in our kitchen just took a dump and today my TV…

Get Wise About Your Size
My sister shared this with me this AM, and I thought it was really interesting. I really thought I had a realistic image of my body, and my guess was three "bodies" too big. It made me feel better, and feel like I have a little bit of a more positive view of my body. Just wanted to share. This isn't spam, or a weightloss…

Best Run App?
MapMyRun won't install on my phone for whatever reason. Runtastic is what I'm currently using and it consistently shorts my runs - has my start like a quarter of a mile into my run (so the pace, mph, time and calories are inaccurate). So, recommendations?

Hand Weight questions/advice
So I've been randomly lifting my little 5 pound free weights since I started this fitness journey (April). I can see more definition in my arm muscles and I'm happy. But, I'm getting more serious about getting stronger and toning stuff up. So I want to see if what I'm doing is good, or I need to change stuff up. I do…

Martial Arts
I'm interested in taking classes to help focus, strength and general well being. There are so many different types of classes out there - any recommendations?

My small success
Today I officially hit my first big goal - 25 pounds. I took a selfie to celebrate, and for the first time probably ever, I did it in one take - without obsessing over my chin(s), angle, applying a filter, etc. It's a mark of how much confidence I've gained while I've shed the pounds (some of you really helped to encourage…

25 pounds down and just don't see it.
I know this is stupid. I'm at 24.7 pounds lost, and 17 inches down. I finally took some progress pics for myself and I just don't really see a change. It's really discouraging me right now - which I know it shouldn't. I'm pushing through, but could use some random "you can do this!" from total strangers.

FitBit One Questions
I just got mine on Tuesday and I'm just not understanding how it works entirely. Yes, I know this is the MFP forum, not the FitBit forum, but I thought someone might be able to help. On my first full day, these were my stats: Steps: 3585 Burn: 2451 Second day: Steps: 6860 Burn: 2120 I measured my workouts with my FitBit -…

V8 vs Veggies
Is V8 an acceptable substitute, in your opinion? This is asked out of general curiosity.

Fresh veggies
I have a lot of texture issues with food, which limits my options quite a bit. I can't eat cooked veggies generally, as I instantly gag. Right now I eat lots of raw cucumbers and carrots, but I want to expand my horizons a bit. What other veggies are good raw? Green beans? Peas? TIA :)

Reading recommendations
I'm a bookworm and in need of recommendations. I love all genres, but romance is my least favorite. So, have you read anything decent lately?

Birth Control and Weight Gain Question
I haven't been on any form of hormonal birth control in over 10 years, and the last one I was on did make me gain around 15 pounds. I'm sure lots has changed in all those years. I've got an appt Monday I'd like to get back on something - and I'd like to go in armed with information about options that won't negatively…

My big boobed sisters
Sports bras - give me the low down. Last week my boob actually fell out of my bra/shirt and hit me in the face. I'd prefer to buy in person. I'm a 40F right now (well, perhaps a bit smaller, since my weight loss). Even XXL's you can buy in Target just don't cut it. I need the girls to stay in place.

Shinbone pain?
Every time I do jumping jacks or stair steps (or anything "bouncy"), my shinbones start to hurt. It's not a muscle pain, it's bone pain - and they are generally sore for hours after a work out - especially if I push them. I did day 1 of the 30 day shred today and had to sit out a good chunk of the cardio section. Any tips…

Weight lost = food donation
When I reach my goal I've decided to buy the same amount of pounds lost in food, and donate to my local food bank. Anyone care to join me?

At the risk of looking stupid (homemade stuff)
I make 99% of our dinners from scratch. I never follow a recipe or anything - I just throw stuff in that sounds good i that moment. Like right now I have chicken breast marinating for stir fry. I threw a bunch of stuff together for the marinade last night. How does one (who at this point is totally unwilling to start…

Trouble meeting calorie goals
Yeah, saddest story in the word, I know. I eat until I'm full and I've never hit my calorie goal - most days I get the warning that I'm not eating enough. The issue is that I just don't have the appetite - if I force myself, I feel sick to my belly. I try to make my calories count and I do work out in some way every day.…

Hi!
I'm relatively new here. Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Jen. I'm 34 and I'm a stay at home mom of two girls that I homeschool. I run a small non-profit organization (the mission is to help women to realize how amazing they already are). I'm happily married. I quit smoking about 7 months ago, and put on a bit of…
