Replaced: Soda with water mostly. Coffee with lots of cream and sugar with black coffee, two sugars. Margarine with real butter. Cut out: Bagels Muffins Juice The things I cut out, I did because they just weren't worth the calories, IMO. It's not like I'll never eat them again, but they aren't the day to day things they…

Yes, me. Small steps. First thing I did was start walking and logging my food. That's it - no structured exercise and nothing too overwhelming. Then I started yoga and weighing my food - but still only fussing with calories. Then I started paying attention my macros and added in some dumbbell work. Kept tracking, and then…

I had IR when I first started this weight loss thing. I never had cravings, at all. I didn't moderate my food, because I was too depressed to care about my health or weight. Moderation definitely came first for me, which allowed me to lose 85 pounds and successfully reverse my IR. Anecdotal, I know - just food for thought…

Right, and that's not normal - so maybe it's time to talk to someone about how you're feeling and your relationship with exercise/food. It can't hurt, right? :)
-
Of course they are - everyone's 200g of raw meat is going to make different weights of cooked meat, depending on how you cook them. That's why it's best to log it as raw meat. If it was 80/20, search: ground beef, 80/20, raw - and log it.

Thanks - I'll give them a read :)

I'd love to see studies regarding your statements.

That doesn't sound like much fun!

If you feel good and are hitting your macros - keep going. Know that you *can* eat more if you want to, but you certainly don't have to.

I think it's every 20 pounds or so - regardless, you'll have to update your goals for it to kick I believe.

P: 25% C: 40% F: 35% After lots of experimenting, this is where I feel happiest.

Raw is more accurate, so use the raw entry and move on.
-
Did you adjust your goal at all? I imagine it's a glitch.

I don't really care if I have a panty line. But if I did, I'd just skip the knickers.

If I'm going to eat fast food, I'm not doing a salad. I usually just go for smaller portions.

Guilty.

If you want to reduce your carbs, look at your diary and figure out where most of your carbs are coming from - then replace or remove those things. If you're in a plateau, you're likely not in a deficit. You might want to tighten up your food logging or consider a food scale, if you don't already use one. Lowering carbs in…

It's determined by how many sugars the food has (1 or 2, simple - 3+ complex). http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/002469.htm

Apples and diary are simple carbs.

Do you believe addiction exists?

I use ecigs as a very temporary tool to quit smoking (> 2 months). I would not suggest long term use.

And I think they are latching onto the current craze. I mean, if you google "how to lose weight" the very first thing listed is "eat low carb". Carbs and sugar are the current "bad" food, like fat was in the 80's. I think humans are, more often than not, looking for things to blame when we make bad choices. It's much…

If it's the bubbles you want, how about sparkling water? I still drink coke, but I just have a bit of some with dinner usually. Some days I have more, if I want it, but I find myself satisfied with water 90% of the time. I've lost 85 pounds that way, by the way.

That's not what she's saying at all. She's saying that the foods people often cite being "addicted" to are full of fat, too - so why are we assuming that carbs are the issue? If you crave carbs, wouldn't you crave all carbs? Like potatoes, vegetables, dried fruits? It seems there's a clearer correlation between "cravings"…
-
I'm wondering as well. I'm at 40% and don't consider it low carb. But I don't know what qualifies as low carb.

I don't even wear spanx because they make me miserable - I cannot see the benefit of something like this. Plus, how do you not toot the whole time you're wearing one?

I like you.

I used to, but I don't anymore. After months spent paying attention, I realized that it was likely all a wash in the end. Some prepackaged stuff was way under, some way over. It hasn't negatively impacted my weight loss. I do weigh all fresh stuff, or anything I have to portion out myself.
-
Also, I have a three pound weight range that I want to stay around - so if I go above that, I know that I need to rein it in. The three pound range was chosen based on my typical fluctuations around my period and stuff. For some it might be a five or seven pound range.

I hit maintenance and stopped logging for about a month. I actually lost a bit. I started logging again (well, not on weekends), and now I'm losing even more. My goal is not to log forever. I don't even know why I started again, honestly. Habit I suppose. I think it really depends on what you learned while you were…
