What about Tahini?
I happened to pick up a jar of this the other day in my Kroger discount bin. (that may be a clue why no one has mentioned using it). I think I paid a dollar for 16 oz. Well it tastes ok, kind of bland, lots of fat. On the label, 2 tab = 170 calories, had 6 carb grams but also 3 fiber grams. I think it may have…

What a surprise!
Has anyone eaten something you used to buy and eat all the time before LCHF and been shocked. This morning after church I grabbed a lump from the freezer that turned out to be turkey sausage. Defrosted, sliced and fried. Good Golly Miss Molly! I could not finish the first piece. Tasted like very salt rubber bands. SO BAD.…

nut butter questions
I have found almond and peanut butters are easy fat sources, great to blend with 90% chocolate, and other flavors. I bought a second jar of almond butter ($14) yesterday and noticed it had added sugars already. Does it make sense to make your own nut butters and do any of you do it? I'm a little uncertain about our recipe…

My weight loss has kind of stalled this year and I want to lower my carbohydrate grams to see if this helps. Any favorite recipes for sides to eat with the protein and fats?

I am reading Skaldeman's "lose weight by eating more".
I like the simplicity of his ratio guide but am not sure I am doing it correctly. For example today I have eaten 126 gr Fat, 65gr protein, and 54 gr carbs. So dividing the fat grams by the sum of protein and carbs I have a ratio of 1.058. I am hoping that is good. I think it is. I really like the idea of not counting…

Does anyone use the old 8" step exerciser to burn calories at home?
I am looking for ideas to burn calories at home during the winter as a replacement for outdoor activities. Does anyone use the old step platform anymore? Does it work for you? Seems like an easy inexpensive way to get some help in the house. I had one years ago. I think I gave it to a friend because I wasn't too serious…

A yummy treat I just discovered!
First I must admit I love spicy food :) I'm talking ginger, cinnamon, cloves, etc. spices. OK, so I went to my day old bakery outlet store and in addition to bread, bought a bag of ginger snaps because they were only 24 calories each! A "serving" is 5 cookies = 120 calories. Broke 5 in half to make 10 cookies. Poured a 1/2…

My best new diet tip!
I have a hard time getting enough fluids during the day. For some reason I rarely feel thirsty and do not care to drink plain water abundantly :I I do have a cup of English breakfast tea with a little lemon and sugar during the day. Today I brewed a big 12 ounce cup of strong tea and on impulse poured it into a small…
