First Half Marathon
Yesterday, I ran my first half marathon! I finished at 3:17:56, and I was 8072 out of 8095, but I ran a half marathon! My legs hurt like hell, but I ran a half marathon! (Can you tell I'm proud of that?!)

Took a break - I'm back again!
I took an extended break from here because reasons, but I'm back and ready to kill it! I'm running a half marathon in 8 weeks, so that's my main target at the moment, but I'm also going to California in October, so I want to lose the weight for that. The main reason I took my break from here was because I finally quit…

Virtually Zero Fat Cheese - would you try it?
I use Musclefood a lot now for their meat and powders, and they've just launched a virtually zero fat cheddar and mozzarella. The cheddar has 168 calories, 29g protein and just 2.5g fat per 100g. To me it sounds too good to be true - has anyone tried it? And if not, would you?

Ingredients: 12oz 3% fat Philadelphia cheese 10oz 0% Fage yoghurt 2 eggs 75ml semi skimmed milk 50g protein powder (I…

Who else out there is a fan of the best show on TV? RPDR makes me feel fierce for my nerve! Season 7 is sickening!

My first 5K!
I've never been a runner. I never enjoyed it, and only did it when necessary like running to catch a bus. Earlier this year, near the start of my MFP journey, I discovered the Color Run (I hate writing that word without the 'u' but it's a company name...what you gonna do?) and thought it looked awesome! Before I could…

3 Stone Down!
I started my weight loss journey on the 6th of January, weighing in at 14 stone 10 lbs (206lbs) - excuse the picture, it was Halloween and I was the Eleventh Doctor, because why wouldn't you be? Plus, it's one of the only photos of me before I started - now I'm a selfie master! This morning, after 192 days, I weighed in at…

My journey so far
Over the last 6 months, I've lost 38 pounds just by using MFP. Over this time, I've taken lots of progress pics, and some silly little videos that I've compiled into one shortish 'film'. I would love if some of you would watch it and let me know what you think! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dQw4w9WgXcQ

Cooking With Blood
http://nordicfoodlab.org/blog/2013/9/blood-and-egg I read the above article recently, and it's stuck in my mind for the last few days, so much so that I've just ordered a kilo of dried pig's blood to experiment with - the blood meringues look delicious! I realise blood is quite a taboo food, but it's low in fat, high in…

Tandoori Chicken
I really love curries - mild ones though, I can't do spicy food! - but I always cook too much, and they're always quite heavy with a rich sauce. When I go out for curry, my dad always has a tandoori chicken because he doesn't like the creamy sauces, so I thought I'd give it a go at home. This is what I created - it's…

'Failed Frosting' Cake
My MFP friends will know that I've recently made lots of cupcakes. I tried to make frosting for them, which - although delicious - just didn't come together for some reason. I didn't want to waste it, so I chucked in some flour and an egg and baked it, and I made possibly the best cake I have ever made! They wanted it…

Smoky BBQ Sauce

If you use fresh…

Butternut Squash and Bacon Mac 'n' Cheese
I love butternut squash. I love bacon. I love macaroni and cheese. So why not combine them into a most delicious, most amazing pasta dish I have ever made! It's sweet, it's meaty, it's stretchy and cheesy. Doesn't it sound perfect?! Ingredients: 300g butternut squash, finely diced 75g onion, diced 3 rashers thick smoked…

Going Out For Thai
I'm going out with my friends for Thai food tomorrow night. I've never had Thai before, and I was wondering what people would suggest that's healthy but not spicy (I am an absolute wimp when it comes to spice!) This is the place I'm going - http://www.spalace.co.uk/spMenu.htm - so if anyone is willing, could you have a…

Protein - Meat vs Substitutes
So I've lost 10lbs in 3 weeks, which I am amazed and astonished about. Apart from the usual calorie deficit, I've noticed that my diet consists of a lot less meat than it used to - I've substituted a lot of it with Quorn, making curries, stirfries, pies etc. My concern is though my protein intake seems to be quite low in…

Third Time Lucky!
I'm back...again! I've been on here twice before - the first time I lost 2.5 stone but the second time didn't do much at all. I've put 1.5 stone of that 2.5 back on, and want to lose it again with interest! I know the MFP community is wonderful, and the support I got from so many people on here first time helped so much,…
