High heart rate, low calorie burn, why?
Why does a person burn less calories with a higher heart rate? Example, I swam for 24 minutes (vigorous laps back and forth), average heart rate of 94, calorie burn 161. Yet I rode a bike, vigorous, up/down slopes roads, 23 minutes, average heart rate of 123, burn 64 calories. (Per my Apple Watch) Why is there such a large…

Constipation due to high protein
Looking for a good fiber to add to protein drinks to help with constipation? Any suggestions or recommendations? Not food. I’m a picky eater. Something to add to protein drinks would be easier for me. Thanks!

Barbell weight and body weight exercising questions
I’m a beginner to weights. I spent the past year learning to eat healthy, exercise and lose weight (43lbs). I recently gained about 10lbs back but that’s ok. I’ve decided to spend this next year focusing on weights, strengthening, and toning. Is there a method to the madness? Meaning, should barbell weight exercises be…

For toning, versaclimber, home gym, or something else?
I’m close to hit my goal weight (130lbs) and would like to start toning up what’s left. I had plans to buy a home gym, with weights and the ability to do multiple exercises for full body workout, but I’ve seen lots of good reviews about the overall workout you get from a versaclimber. I’m 5’2”, have lost 37lbs (down from…

Age 50 and over (or close to it lol)
Hi, I'm 50. And I need some additional support. I'm married, with children, grandchildren and live in Louisiana USA. I've been an on again/off again MFP'er for 2/3 years. I log daily, as honestly as possible, and I always comment and offer my support to all of my friends I currently have. I am realizing though that only 2…

Problem with a 'friend' on MFP and her eating habits?
I'm not sure where this particular type of question should be placed here on MFP so I'm just throwing it out there to the general population and see what happens. I have a young friend, a girl, in high school as one of my MFP friends. She is talking about purging. And her friends are actually telling her how to and what…

I go to the gym at least 5 days a week now, and have completely altered the way I eat. I have to laugh at myself though because the day I chose to go to the…
