Ready to wire my mouth shut!!!
I can't seem to get with it. I have 10 lbs. I want to lose and will do great with my eating and exercise for a day or two, and then fall off the wagon. I am so mad at myself and disgusted with my weight. Two more pounds and I will be considered overweight according to the BMI charts. :( ((( I think one of my problems is I…

Does the body get used to eating less?
I have my calories set at 1680/day (lose 1/2 lb. a week). It's as low as I can go. I'll take the slower weight loss. I am hungry!!! :( Does the body get used to eating less, and eventually I won't be hungry all the time??!

Net calories too high!
I am 5'6, 152 lbs. trying to get back to 142. I just calculated my net calories again to see if I could go any higher than 1,680 (what I'm at now), and to lose .5 lb per week, it says my net calories should be 1,910! That seems WAY too high. ???

Determining "lightly active" or "active"?
When trying to determine how many calories I should be eating to lose one lb. a week (and adding in exercise 4x/week for 40 minutes each time), if I choose "lightly active", I should net 1,390 calories. If I choose "active", I should net 1,660. What would exercise 4x/week for 40 minutes each time be considered?

Safe to assume 100 cal burned for every mile on treadmill
Oops, meant that as a question. :) I'm 43, 5'6 and 149 lbs. I have a HRM but get an entirely different reading than what the treadmill tells me. Is it safe to assume 100 calories burned for every mile walked on the treadmill at a pace of about 3.4 MPH?

Why is this so hard???
I want to drop 10 lbs. to reach my "feel good" weight. I do well for a few days and then lose control and eat whatever is in my sight. I am allowing myself 1600 cal/day and I do not deprive myself. If I want a Snickers bar after dinner, I have one...I just make sure to work it into my calorie allowance. So, why can't I…

Weighing once a month?
Anyone do this? I was thinking it might be a good idea to not only to see a good change/difference, but also for not getting discouraged, especially if you have a day here and there of falling off the wagon.

What's a reasonable weight for a 5'6 female?
Until I hit 40, I had always weighed between 133-138. I'm 43 now and have been 140-145 for the last few years...weight crept up to 150 recently. :-O I am trying to determine a healthy weight for myself. All of the weight charts I have seen say 133-155 is normal for my height. That's a pretty wide range!
