Daily Water Cooler Thread
All right ladies, I guess we need to start this again. Out most recent one seems to have been deleted with the change. So not fair since we can't see or comment on each other's recent posts!!!

Furniture and a baseboard heater
Is it safe to put the head board of my bed up against an baseboard heater? My room is a little crowded the way it is, and I was wondering if I re-arranged the way I have it set up, if it would give me more room to get around my bed. Right now I can "just" squeeze around one corner of the bed because of the totes I have…

First 5K - What to eat BEFORE race
My first 5K is a week from tomorrow. I feel ready and excited! My question is what should I eat before? The race is at 8am and they want us there are least an hour early. Since it will take about 30 minutes or so to get there, that means I will probably be leaving around the 6:30 range. That's a good hour and half BEFORE I…

Running Question
Tonight when I got home from work, I put my lunch bag and containers away and then I changed and went for a run. I just couldn't get up to speed and could barely run for any short distance. :grumble: Last week on Tuesday I had shaved 2 minutes of my 5K time and did it in 32:02. (I finished the C25K app end of July.) Now I…

Early Morning Runners
How do you do it? I've switched to running in the morning (I get up at 5am) as I can find more time in the morning then at night and it's much cooler first thing in the morning! I don't do it every day, but about 3 days a week. (I plan to Saturday morning as well, but not as early!!!!) By lunch time I am so tired. I was on…

Venting
So about 2 months ago I switched to maintenance mode and upped my calories. At that point I put a couple few pounds back on, and stayed that way for a couple of weeks. It wouldn't go back down. I was on vacation last week and gained 2 pounds in a week. To me is seems that the higher calories isn't working as I am gaining.…

Maintenance Calories Question
For those that are maintaining, do you go by what MFP tells you for your maintenance calories? MFP set me at 1490, which is only 90 above what I was at when loosing. (MFP had me at 1200. I changed it to 1400 as 1200 was not enough for me.) I've checked a couple other sites and get between 1800 to 2090 to maintain. To give…

Protein Powder- Where to find in Nova Scotia at best rate
I am looking to start adding protein shakes to my diet to get my protein up to where it needs to be, especially now that I have started running. (At best I only get half of the protein I need in a day). For my fellow Nova Scotians/Atlantic Canadians on here who use protein shakes, where have you found the protein powders…

Proteim Powder - Best Rates?
I posted this topic: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/1300033-protein-powder-where-to-find-in-nova-scotia-at-best-rate But seem to have limited myself there (I know I was trying to do that) Does anyone buy their Protein Powder on line? I'm trying to find stores local to me or website I can order from (preferably…

Run Keeper App
I have the Run Keeper App on my phone to track my distance I walk, speed and calories. For the last few days it's not starting to track my distance, speed or calories for at least 5-7 minutes into the walk. I keep the phone in my hand as most of the time it does not track if it is in my pocket. Has anyone else who uses…

First 5K
It's official. My registration form and cheque are written for my fist running 5k. (I did a walking 5k back somewhere over 10 years ago in college). It's not to September, so I have nearly 5 months to train for this. Hope I can do it!

MFP App on phone
Whenever I use the MFP app on my phone (which isn't very often. I mostly use it to scan bar codes) do you find that when you open it, it opens to the wrong date? Whenever I open it, it seems to go to the last date I was on it on my phone and not the current date. Both yesterday and today, it's gone back to April 21. Does…

Lunch for work
For my lunch I always bring a yogurt, piece of fruit, something for my sweet tooth (that averages 100-110 calories) and then a pb&J sandwich. A pb&j is my staple lunch. I've been having one of those in my lunch box/bag ever since I started school. (I went to a small private school and we had no cafeteria.) I'm need lunch…

Windows XP
Anyone else have Windows XP? I have it at work. As of today support for XP has ended. I've had programs disappear of my computer, including ones I need to use! Has anyone else with XP noticed issues today since support has ended for it?

What brand of HRM do you recommend?
I've been reading up on HRMs and what people say on here. Most people seem to say the Polar is the best brand to go with. However, in my research, it also seems to be the most expensive. I know some people said that buying them on line has allowed them to find it cheaper; however, that doens't always work for me as I do…

Aches and Pains
I worked out for the first time on Saturday in a long time. (I did JM 30 day shred, level 1) My legs are screaming at me today. They hurt worse today then yesterday. I've taken Advil, but that doesn't seem to have helped. Does anyone have something they found that works that ease the aces and pains from a workout? My poor…

Oops
So I was on here before (I couldn't get my old username back) but I dropped off back in October. With moving I lost track of keeping track and never got back into it. When it had been so long without me being on here, I just deleted my old account and figured I would be good. I had lost some weight (didn't have a lot to…
