schedule prob - help!
Hello everyone :) I am on week 6 day 3 of c25k. This is my 3rd time going through the program in the last few years. Doing well :) My problem is that my schedule changed drastically for the worse since going back to work, leaving my three days a week that I cannot run. Those three days fall on awkward parts of the…

Numbers are truth.
In 28 days I feel like I should have more than 4.3 pounds of loss. I really believe it. I've worked sooooo hard, So in a tantrum-like episode, I decided to do my own calculations based on my daily logging. Surely the MFP calculator must be wrong!! So I did the following calculation: 1. Got my TDEE again from fitnessfrog 2.…

Older HRM question
I have a Polar FT4, not one of the wifi ones. I just started using it again to find out my calories and max heart rate. Working good. My question is - can I wear it for a whole day to see what my actual calories burned for a day are or will I drain the battery too much? Also will it stop working because it needs to be wet?

Best Youtube (or free internet) Fitness Videos
Hi! I just got into the year 2014 and got a Google Chromecast, so I now have the ability to workout to youtube and other internet fitness videos! Every once in a while I see people on MFP talking about their youtube workouts, and I was curious - what are the great ones? I am looking for something awesome to workout to for…

Should I be lifting?
I'm over a month in on my new-me program. Doing really well, coming into a place where I'm eating the right amount and losing about a pound a week. So overall, feeling pretty good with everything. I am 155 and 5'2'', so definitely overweight. I'm doing some jogging, walking, and dancing along with my everyday activities.…

Dumb cooking question
Sorry that I'm kind of dense here, but here is my question: I want to cook something that calls for 25 minutes at 450. (roasted vegetables.) I also want to cook baked chicken breast that calls for 35 minutes at 400. Can I just split the difference and cook at 425? Or should I just cook the vegetables at 400 for longer? I'd…

easiest way to make spaghetti squash into spaghetti?
I did this once, and I found it pretty difficult. I baked it, cut it in half, scooped out the pits, and then with a fork kept scraping the bits out. There were pits left over that kept getting in the way of the strands, and also it was very hot, so I kept burning myself. So I guess the easiest answer for that is to wait…

mfp and fitbit do not match
I signed into the fitbit site for the first time in a year to finally use it since I figured I could link it to MFP. I cannot seem to get it to show the same as mfp, though. It thinks I need WAY less calories for my day than I am using here. I don't mind the extra activity it wants me to do, but the calories just does not…

Social get together without drinking
I've been trying really hard to give up alcohol for health and control reasons. Nothing good can come of it right now. I've been mostly successful but today will be a big test. We are having a get together where there will be about 9 adults and 5 kids at my small house. We are going to have wraps, wings, and lots of beer…

Herniated discs in upper back - exercises to avoid?
Quick question - I'm 38, female, and have 4 herniated discs in my upper back. This type of early degenerative disc disease stuff runs in my family, so I"m not totally surprised. Are there any exercises I should be avoiding to prevent further damage? If so, are there ways to modify? I'm thinking right now of pushups. I've…

Help me find Jeans: size 12, all butt and tummy, 5'2
I'm excited that i lost a size, and would like to find a good pair of jeans for the fall. I have a lot of problems with jeans because I'm short and have a massive butt. As a result, the jeans that fit correctly lengthwise tend to have a big gap at my lower back. if I go to the regular size, I can kind of get the butt to…

clarification on glycogen stores....
I read a post about Glycogen and it got me thinking. (see this link) http://justinowings.com/understanding-bodyweight-and-glycogen-de/ When you first begin to diet, you tend to lose a lot of weight all at once. This is water weight because of depleting the glycogen store. It tends to be 5-10 pounds. After that, your next…

I want to snack it up
I am fairly new and need some snack ideas. I have been eating: walnuts fruit like peaches and bananas celery dipped into salsa or hummus yogurt, but not greek cause it doesn't taste good to me. And that's pretty much all I've come up with. Looking for calorie ranges between 100 and 200. Going shopping tomorrow and have no…

diagnose my broken treadmill
Hi, I have a livestrong treadmill, purchased about a year and a half ago. We haven't been too good about lubricating the belt. It was complicated and hard, and we didn't really know what we were doing. It was attempted twice in that time. About a month ago, we tried to use the treadmill, but although it turned on, it gave…

don't want to be emotional derailed during family event
I don't know which forum to post this in. Since I'm just getting started, I guess this is as good as any. I have a certain trigger that will cause me to abandon my weight loss goals for many months. I have just started feeling in control again, and am making great choices. I'm completely dedicated at the moment. I'm about…

New. Need support.
Hello, I'm new and need some support for binge eating. I am worried that my new resolve today will disappear soon. I tend to make grand plans that never amount to anything. I want this to work. Today was a good day. I will be back tomorrow. Friend me if you can. I made a blog post. I love reading about people and…
