Christmas Gift for Personal Trainer
Hello! I have been working with a personal trainer for a couple months now, and she also teaches several of the group classes I take. I would like to get her a small gift for Christmas, maybe around $30 or so. Any suggestions for good gifts for personal trainers?

Activities to replace "comfort" eating
Hi everyone. I am just wondering if anyone has any good tips or activities for things they have replaced comfort eating with. I workout/go to fitness classes all through the week, but the weekends seem to be my downfall. My boyfriend is a pro athlete and Sundays are really the only days he has off and we are able to relax…

Does anyone else have "rest guilt?"
I know rest is an essential part of a fitness plan, but I can't help but feel guilty resting if I have time to exercise. Anyone else have this problem?

Hi everyone!
Hello! I just found this group. My name is Nichole, I'm from Minnesota, but I live in Finland. I'm 29 years old and will be heading back to Minnesota for my first half marathon in June. I ran cross country in high school, but that was more than ten years and about 35 pounds ago, so I am kind of starting from scratch. Good…

Feeling Hopeless
Hello everyone. I have been on and off MFP for a few years now. Usually, when I decide I want to start a healthier routine and lose some weight, I see some success. I don't necessarily lose weight easily, but I've always been able to work at it and see results. For the past several months, however, things have been…

5'2" 138 pounds, anyone similar?
I am 5'2" and 138 pounds. I have been as low as 109, but that was years ago when I was a high school/college athlete. I'm just looking for advice from similar sized ladies on what kinds of things have been the most helpful for them. I'm looking to lose 15-20 total, but my first goal is 10 pounds.

When should I expect to start seeing results?
Hi everyone! I am 27 years old, 5'2", 148 lbs. I have been up and down with my weight for a while. I was really athletic in high school and was as low as 109. this time last year, I was around 135 and thought that was high...now I'm 13 pounds more than that. I have started exercising and lifting weights 4-5/week and have…

Sweet, chewy, low-cal snacks

The scale isn't budging
I have been using MFP on and off for about 2 years. This time last year, I was around 138 (I'm 5'2"), then lost about ten pounds between July-September. I am now back up to 138 again, but have gotten back on the horse and have been exercising daily and staying under my calories. I've been back at it for about 3 weeks, but…

Cleanses
Has anyone ever tried a cleanse? What were some that worked well for people? I am a little leery of cleanses, since the results promised seem to be good to be true, or the program itself seems unhealthy. I saw this one on Pinterest http://health-heaven.tumblr.com/post/17089615944/what-do-you-think-of-gms-diet, but it seems…

New Rules of Lifting for Women+Cardio?
Hello everyone, I know there are several threads on here about New Rules of Lifting for Women, but trying to read through all the posts is a full-time job. I was just wondering if any of you out there have tried this program. I am looking to start this week, but I am wondering if it's also ok to do cardio a few times a…

How do I avoid eating when my boyfriend always wants to eat?
My boyfriend plays college hockey and has two intense practices every day and is ALWAYS hungry and wanting to eat. He frequently suggests eating and even if I am not hungry, I usually end up eating, too. I have a hard time saying no to food if it's sitting right in front of me. Does anyone have any advice on how to summon…

Quick and easy meals needed!
Hello, fitness pals! I am just about to start my last semester of college and the next few month will be insanely busy. Between work and school, I'll hardly ever be home during meal times. I'm looking for some suggestions on meals that can be made ahead of time and easily taken with me to work or school. Any good ideas?

Exercise Motivation
Hello everyone! I just wanted to share a little bit of what helps motivate me to workout and hopefully some of you can find it helpful, too! Today, for example, I really did not want to work out. I almost didn't, but I decided to make a deal with myself and thought "OK, just get on that treadmill and even if all you do is…

Hard Time Staying Motivated
I need some help with motivation. My problem is, I'll do well with keeping up with my workout schedule for a while, but if I'm not seeing results right away, I tend to quit. It's hard for me to feel like I'm working really hard and nothing is happening. In fact, all last week, I worked out really hard and stuck to my…

Strength Training for Women
Hey guys, I've read a lot about how important it is to start a strength or weight training routine in order to build muscle and ultimately burn fat. I am a complete beginner when it comes to weights, so any help would be appreciated. I'd like to try to work weights into my normal routine, but I also don't want to "bulk…

Realistic Weight Loss Goals
Hello, everyone! I am just curious as to whether or not my weight loss goals are realistic. I am 24 years old, 5'2" and currently 135lbs. My goal weight is 120. Is a pound a week a realistic goal? Should it be lower? Higher? I used to be very athletic (cross country runner, soccer player, track) but when I went to college,…
