Hard Time Staying Motivated

I need some help with motivation. My problem is, I'll do well with keeping up with my workout schedule for a while, but if I'm not seeing results right away, I tend to quit. It's hard for me to feel like I'm working really hard and nothing is happening. In fact, all last week, I worked out really hard and stuck to my calorie allowance and I GAINED 2 pounds. I don't know how to push through that mental barrier and keep going. It's especially hard for me because I used to be very athletic (played soccer all my life and ran track and cross country in high school) and when I can't work out at a level I used to, I get discouraged and give up. Does anyone have any advice to share on how they stay motivated, even when faced with discouraging results?

Don´t let the results demotivate you. As you probably know, when you start to work out, you gain muscles. Muscles are heavier than fat, so you might actually lose fat but gaine a little weight. As you continue your work out routine, you will see results. But be patient.0

I would hang a picture up in my room of either how I use to look (fat or skinny) and use that as a motivation booster every time I wake up. Also never get discouraged when you have a bad day or two just use that as motivation to kick it up a notch and keep chugging along. You look fine to me in your picture so keep it going and finish strong. :flowerforyou:0

I took "before" pictures, and any time I need motivation I look at them. This is a HUGE motivator - I never want to look like that again! Good luck on your journey!0
