11th Month NSV
I've been on my weight loss journey for 11 months now and have sporadically gone through my closet and drawers to clean out clothes that are now too big and pull out older clothes from my college years. A few weeks ago, I went through the remainder of my clothes and found two pairs of pants that were a little tight, but I…

Providing Support for Others
In the past few weeks, I have had a number of friends ask me how I've been loosing weight. My answer is always first my physician-supported program and then MFP. When my friends ask me about the medical program, I say to them that MFP alone is great for people who don't need to lose a lot of weight and that they should…

Work Out Calories
I know that this is a highly sensitive issue on MFP, but wanted to post to get some feedback. I've been working through a physician-supported weight loss program since May and use MFP for my food journal. My physician recommended NOT logging exercise because it messes with my calorie count. For the past six months, I have…

Thanksgiving
I realize that Thanksgiving is not a Jewish holiday, but since its based on Jewish customs (think Sukkot), let's share some strategies to help get through the holiday. I'm going to participate in a charity walk/run called the "Turkey Schlepp." I figure that if I get in a good work out, it will help me with some of the…

Shopping NSV
I had an amazing NSV yesterday ... I bought a pair of jeans in a regular store! It was such an awesome feeling to be able to go into a store and walk out with a pair of jeans. I might have been on the very end of their size spectrum for in-store purchases, but I'm going in the right direction.

NSVs Fulfilled and Not
I had to go to the mall today to return some clothes I ordered online because they were too big (yay!). It was a great feeling to have to return something because it was too big and I'm looking forward to getting a smaller size shortly. Then I went to some other stores and found a new winter coat that was on an amazing…

A Great Feeling
Tuesday I had a meeting with a group of people that I haven't seen since I first started my weight loss journey. It was great that everyone noticed how much better I looked and all of the positive feedback from colleagues. Between the Facebook support and things like this, I keep feeling motivated to work hard. YAY ME!

Motivated by Today's NSV
I had to share these two NSVs I had today: 1) My water exercise instructor told me that my stomach is looking firmer! 2) I went to Men's Wearhouse to pick-up some pants that were being taken in as well as drop off more to get tailored. The tailor told me that this round of alterations was the last one I have for the pants…

A Quasi NSV
I just had quasi NSV (since it relates to weight, but not from the scale). When completing my diary today, MFP told me that if every day were like today, I would be below 300 lbs in 5 weeks. I've been waiting to get to that place and was so excited to see it tonight, especially after my weigh loss for the past week being…

BMI / Ideal Weight just doesn't seem possible
I've now been working on loosing weight for the past 8 weeks with MFP and a physician supported program and have already lost 21.5 pounds! When my doctor did testing of my body, she determined that my minimum weight based on bones, organs, etc., is around 220 pounds and ideal would be around 240 being toned. However, this…

My First NSV
After working for 6 weeks on loosing weight, I had my first NSV. I knew I needed to take a few pairs of slacks to get the waist taken in and ended up going through my entire closet. I found 4 pairs of pants that needed the waist taken in and 6 pairs of slacks that now fit me again! I'm already down 18 pounds of my 100…
