I'm SO tired all the time. Please help me narrow down the problem.
Before I get into the problem, let me give you my current status: I'm a 46 yr old male, 208.4 lbs, 6' 1.5". My BF% is 24-25. I want to get down to 180 lbs. More importantly, I want my BF% down so I lose my belly fat. I'd also like to have some muscles and have a decent toned build, if not a little more than that. For the…

Finally pulled the parking brake when going into cruise control...
It's amazing how I can go all day eating healthy, keeping track of my calories, and the moment I step through the door, my wife says "I made pizza", and I instantly go "OK!" without a second thought, and become a different person. It's like I go into this uncontrolled "cruise control" state. This time I stopped at the…

Need dietary advice for my training...
I've been sedentary for the past 15 years, with spurts of exercise, which I'd quit after a month. I finally stuck with something since I've been doing karate since June 3rd, 3 times a week. I get a very intense PT workout before we go into martial arts technique. It's a 2 hour class. Thing is, 2 months in and I'm STILL…

Strength training and eating maintenance: Finally going for it, but it mentally feels weird.
3 years ago I started this thread: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/721017/doctor-says-i-dont-need-to-lose-anymore-weight/p1 I basically asked "My doctor says I'm at a good weight at 189 lbs, but the BMI shows me at an upper range. Is she wrong? I'm 6'2" and 43 years old. I don't look overweight with clothes…

Am I skinny fat? Am I overweight? Do I cut? Bulk? Feeling VERY overwhelmed...
43 year old male. 6'2" wide frame. 193 lbs. About 15 years ago I was 235 lbs. No muscle. I went on Weight Watchers and got down to 180. After a few years stopped Weight Watchers and went up. I range from 190-195. My current goal is to get muscle and definition. I'd like to get pretty big. Why not take advantage of being…

Weight lifting calories burned...
I noticed MFP doesn't give you estimated calories burned for weight lifting. What do you think I should estimate for 1 hour of heavy lifting? Thanks!

You can't buy 10% body fat with a credit card...
Our culture seems stuck in a mentality where were don't need to save up for something we really want. We just pull out the credit card and get what we want NOW. I'm generalizing, I know, but I think it's safe to say that a lot of Americans think this way. I've been treating my fitness this way. I want to be 10% body fat…

Too low for too long?
I'm a 6' 2" male at 193 lbs, and am working on body fat loss. I'm doing strength training 3 days a week. 4 months ago I had my calories at 1,500. I did that for 2 weeks. Then I switched down to 1,300. After some much needed advice, I brought my calories up to 1,800. My question is this: Would there be any benefit to doing…

How much of a calorie deficit do you think I should do?
I am currently doing strength training 3 days a week, as well as brisk walks on the alternating days. I am pretty much sedentary all day besides the workouts. Here's a picture of me currently. I'm guessing I'm around 22-23% body fat. How much of a deficit do you think I should do? I'd been doing 1,500 from March 18th to…

No mayo/low carb Tuna recommendations...
Hi everyone. I'm currently trying to keep my carbs low and protein high. I also hate mayo. Any recommendations on how to eat tuna? I have a hard time eating it plain or just on salad. Thanks for any feedback!

The importance of water and sleep...
I've really been struggling to get my weight off. Been trying to get below 195 for a while now. Well, about couple weeks ago I finally made a real effort to get more sleep. Now I'm averaging 7-8 hours a night, and I've finally seen a couple pounds go away. Now I'm wondering if my other nemesis is hydration. I've only been…

Question about 75/25 ground beef, and draining fat...
When counting calories, do you guys still count 75/25 ground beef as 75/25 if you drain the fat after cooking? Thanks for any feedback.

Carb, Protein, Fat balance: REALLY confused...
I've been doing really well keeping under my calories using the MFP app (set to lose 2 pounds a week), and exercising every day except Sunday. I do 30 day shred 2 days, cardio 1 day, 30 Day Shred 2 more times, another day of cardio, then a rest day. I get 5 servings of veggies, and two servings of fruit a day. I'm drinking…

Relearning what hunger feels like...
I've been trying to not eat unless I'm actually hungry, but I'm starting to wonder if I even KNOW what hunger feels like anymore. I believe that all the years of eating when I'm tired, depressed, or bored have deadened my awareness of true hunger. I'm not sure if I even know what it feels like. Outside of my stomach…

Need advice on beginner strength training equipment...
I went to a friend's house and did my first round of weight training. I loved it. I benched 55lbs (3 sets of 6 reps), single arm curls were 30 lbs (3 sets of 6 reps). I forget the rest, but this gives a rough idea of where I am. The problem is, I want to be able to do this at home as well, but don't have a very big budget…

Lots of protein causing gas. HELP!!
I'm trying to get more protein in my diet. One of my favorite staples is a broccoli, banana, milk, and whey protein shake. I get a lot of gas from this, to the point where my wife has practically begged me to stop drinking it. Is there anything I can do to lessen the gas problem? Thanks for any help!

Body fat% question...
First off, I'm excited to say I've lost 6 lbs since starting Monday. I understand a lot is probably water weight, but I'm still happy :) One thing put me off this morning though: My body fat monitor showed me UP 1%, from 26% to 27%. I've never been as high as 26%. Any reason you guys can think of for this?

Gaining weight back...
I just started today, and as I've been researching the program, I have read several people warning that you WILL gain the weight back as soon as you stop, and that the majority of weight loss is water weight. My feeling is, the times people gain it all back is because they go back to eating the way they did before Atkins,…

I'm doing 30 Day Shred: Should I take a rest day?
I've been doing 30DS every day since Friday. Should I be doing it every other day? Is it bad for me to do the same workout without a rest day? I don't want to injure myself. Thanks for any feedback.

After 30 Day Shred: Power 90 or P90X?
Do you guys think it would prepare me enough to jump right into P90X after 30 Day Shred, or should I do Power 90 next? Thanks for any feedback! :)

Need healthy heart advice...
My dad just died last Sunday of a massive heart attack. His heart was blocked up. The coroner said he was healthy, and the heart attack resulted from a genetic problem. First off, I miss my dad dearly. We just had the funeral. It was beautiful and I got lots of love and support and great stories about dad. It's a comfort…

Another "I'm not losing weight" post...
I'm very frustrated. I've been counting my calories very closely, and eating pretty healthy. About 75-90% of my food is prepared at home. My first week I went from 199 to 194. Second week I went to 192. Now for the last two weeks I've been stuck at 194. No idea what I'm doing wrong. I'm wondering if I'm eating too LITTLE.…

30 Day Countdown...
My first day, I had to lay on the floor face down, barely able to keep my arms up long enough to type. First time I've ever felt nauseous after a workout, and I've done 30 Day Shred before (I stopped before to try and focus on just strength training, but that didn't work out, so I'm back). I'm now on day 4, and things have…

Do trans fats show up for ANYTHING in the database?
I noticed that my food log shows NO trans fats. This made me curious, so I looked up McDonald's french fries, KFC chicken, and margarine, and none of them list trans fats on myfitnesspal. Is this just happening for me? Is it a glitch? Thanks for any help :)

Doctor says I don't need to lose anymore weight :(
So, I'm 40 years old, 6' 2", and at 189 lbs. I work out every day but Sunday. 30 Day Shred 4 times a week, and jogging twice a week. I drink lots of water, I don't eat much processed junk at all, eat lots of fruits and veggies, and have my protein intake up to around 25%. I am on the high healthy range of the BMI scale. I…

Strength training newb support...
I've gotten to a point where I'm at a good weight, but I need to get my body fat percentage down. I'm currently 6'2", 40 years old, 189 lbs, and at roughly 26.2% body fat. So it's been suggested to me on the forums to start eating at maintenance and do strength training, and to also increase my protein to about 1g per pund…

How to eat while building muscle?
I've been using the fitnesspal app, as well as doing "30 Day Shred" and jogging (I switch between the two exercises every day). Should I be eating a certain way to build muscle? Also, should I still be counting calories when exercising? I assume I should. I've been finding I'm feeling weak a lot. That could just be because…

Something that's helping me (planning my meals)...
In the last week or so, I've found that if I sit with my "MyFitnessPal" app and fill out what I plan to eat for the day, it makes it MUCH easier for me not to overeat. For example, I've planned out my day already, and someone in the office just came along and told me there are sandwiches in the break room. Normally I'd…
