Portion issue - confusion!
Hi all! :) I love almond butter - when I look at the label it says a portion size is 2 tablespoons (28g). When I spoon out exactly a tablespoon and weigh it on my scale (the scale is correct, I've tested it with other items) it says 22g. So 2 tbsp will end up being 44g instead of 28! That's a big difference! How in the…

Protein Puffycakes of Joy
I don't know where I found this first (it may have even been here!) but I don't see it on the boards now so I figured I would post it. I just tried it and it's really pretty good! http://curlsabscardio.tumblr.com/post/33304529859/protein-puffycakes-of-joy-sorta-paleo

Did you guys see this? A bit worrisome, for some!
I saw this article on Science Daily today. Doesn't look like "PANIC TIME" but it doesn't look great, either. Gave me something to think about, at least. Though I don't do low carb (I love veggies!) and I already cut back on the protein a bit because my doc said my kidney function was high. Significant Cardiovascular Risk…

NPR: The First 20 Minutes.
A good article / interview about exercise. "If you're sitting at a desk reading this article, take a minute and stand up. That's the latest advice from New York Times Phys Ed columnist Gretchen Reynolds. In her new book, The First 20 Minutes, Reynolds details some of the surprisingly simple ways you can combat the effects…

Finally comfortable enough for progress pics! (NSFW)
Never mind! Underwear is considered naked, I suppose, haha.

Still confused about calorie intake.
Hey guys! :) So - I have lost 50 pounds this year, I went from 167 to 115. 115 is kind of low for me but I am having a hard time adjusting my calories to maintenance. Every site says something different! I am just starting weight lifting (New Rules of Lifting for Women) and by the calculations in the book, I should be…

Am I doing it wrong?
Hey all! This morning was my first Nrol4W workout! I just had a question: The book is really confusing to me and I feel quite stupid trying to suss it out. I thought I had it but when I did the workout this morning it only took about 25 minutes and seemed really easy. Am I doing it wrong? This is what I did - Squats (15 of…

Always over fat and carbs; yet under calories!
Anyone have good food ideas to keep my calories filled up but not go over fat + carbs? I eat things like nuts/nut butters, avocado and eggs to try and get healthy calories but they always push me over fats and the fruits + veggies get me over carbs! What to do? Suggestions would be welcomed! Thanks. :)

Weight lifting experts of MFP, I could use your help!
To start: I'm 35, female and I've lost 40+ pounds in the last 6 months. My starting weight was 167 and as of this morning, I am at 123. My exercise routine is the following: Sunday: No exercise, rest day. Monday: 30 Day Shred in the AM - 30 minutes of elliptical in the PM (burning 300 calories at an average pace of 6.7mph…

30 Day Shred Question / Or Basic Routine Question
Hi all. I'm on level 3 of 30DS and it's going fine (though my knees are taking a beating and have some pain). After the 30 days are over, can I continue to do the workouts - just start over again? Or maybe rotate them every day? Level 1 one day, then level 2 the next, and 3 the day after? Or is there another good,…

Size 12/14 to size 6. :D
That's all! Just very excited and wanted to post. Went clothes shopping today because not many of my old clothes are fitting me lately (and I mean the "skinny" clothes I kept after I gained weight!). Grabbed a bunch of size 8 pants and "medium" tops to try on and they were *all* too big! Had to go back and get size 6 pants…

Apparently I am not eating enough: Food suggestions?
Hey guys. :) I did just fine for a while, went from 167 to 133 or so but I've seemed to have plateaued. I really don't need to lose that much more, it's more about lowering the percentage of body fat (which is all in my belly now, looks like!). I realized that I consistently go under my calorie goal of 1,200 (though with…

Belly fat!
Hey guys! :) I've been doing well with my weight loss - down 32 pounds since I started 5 months ago. I'm 5'9" and I went from 167 lb to 135 lb. I think the weight I am at now is fine, I wouldn't mind losing a few more but staying at 135 would be perfectly acceptable. I've been exercising a nice amount, doing 30 Day Shred…

Self esteem issues, can anyone commiserate?
Hey, guys. :) Been eating right and exercising for about 4 months now and have lost 30 pounds, yay! I'm 5' 9" and started at 167lb. My goal was to reach 140lb and I've done that and passed it (at 137lb right now). While that's exciting, I still feel terribly fat. : / When I was 140lb five years ago, my body looked SO…
