We went to bed with a blanket of snow and woke to find it almost gone.
Its very quiet here and I've put a request on my weekly grocery order for a tube of sunscreen with the 50 number.
About to settle down and read whilst Bean snoozes in her basket.
Probably get the blood work done tomorrow.

Hello dear sneakers! We have a cold day with showers and sun breaks. Very springlike but we are all yearning for a real springlike weather. It is coming but slowly.
It is very hard to even think about going outside. It is so cold and it is a high humidity chill. So it is in door events around here. Must run to Walgreens for prescription. Then back to house chores. I will bake that apple pie for our delayed Easter dinner with Damon. He is so cute! There are these ladies making a big play for him and he doesn’t see it! I think he demands that the ladies ask him for a date. As amazingly talented and funny as he is, he has little confidence in romance. He dates ladies who make the first move. Actually all the moves! Yet he would really like to get married. He says he is tired of being a single guy. His South American girlfriend would like to make this a permanent thing…marriage. But Damon seems uninterested in that possibility. Too much trouble to get her here and the visa is a nightmare. Hummmmmmm?
Andrea is wanting to come over but unless she gets her next booster, I don’t think I would be comfortable with that. She is always going to various places. We here in Oregon have lifted mask mandates and of course we are soaring with new Covid cases. Damon tests twice before coming to see us. We oldies need to be extra careful. Damon laughs that we are pretty healthy. We eat so healthy he thinks it feels like when he was kid and I yelled at him to eat veggies or die! Meat is poison in most cases. Of course I was a bit extreme!
Testing my invented family game this weekend and just visiting. Hopefully Damon will bring a dvd of some of his latest projects. Episodes of his two TV series. A nd a couple of movies with his special effects.

The nice thing about living in 2022 is its not 1957 when one was expected to marry and well meaning friends tried to match people up. Today, if one prefers the single life thats okay and in fact I read the other day that an awful lot of people are opting for the single life.
I have to admit that once I became free, at least two married friends kept telling me they envied my single life and once free [with three marriage proposals under my belt] I took my "cold feet" and ran swiftly away from three delightful men who I couldn't imagine spending my life with.
Sadly, I would be a widow today if I'd married one of them.
In summary:
I think when a marriage is a happy pairing of twin souls it is a wonderful thing but it is like finding a needle in a haystack in todays mobile world. I would say Mark and Mary Jo fall into this category of ideal marriage and I've a feeling grandson Derek and Bev will make it last as well.

Good afternoon.
It is overcast and cold but our snow has disappeared. It may warm up later in the week with more chances of severe weather.
Today I have been researching options on my long term care insurance. I spoke with the administrator and I know what my daily benefit is now and they are sending a new declaration page to verify it. Everything takes time doesn’t it.
Meanwhile I texted with a friend who had lots of news. Some very happy and some tragic. She was adopted and used several genetic testing services and found a number of half brothers and sisters. She is thrilled to have siblings. Unhappy news is her DIL has 9 brain tumors. Testing is underway but her doctor said she isn’t likely to survive more than 3 years. Her 2 children are still quite young. The entire family is shocked and very sad.
I also texted with my friend with the new puppies. She sent me lots of pictures. Puppies, backyard fences, painting she is doing in her house. She is busy. It is almost 90 degrees F and sunny in her corner of Florida.
Patsy, pie baking time already! I hope you have a wonderful visit with Damon. He is too busy to seek out a mate?? Well, I hope one lands in his lap (so to speak) and she will be a lovely person. Trying to work out the coffee group and I have a friend who will not have coffee with me until I get a second booster shot. Kind of funny as I do not socialize and should be quite safe.
Anne, hope you get your sunscreen. Also that Michael feels better soon and you will get through your tests with no difficulty.
Sandy, hope you feel better soon too. You may have caught a sniffle from the kids. Who knows. Anyway, excellent progress on cleaning things out. 👍🏻👍🏻
Jackie, wow, what a productive day. Glad you sorted out the world’s problems. We need people to do that. I see our friend Dan has not posted much on YouTube, Instagram and Twitter. Or maybe I am not seeing things since I am not a Patreon subscriber. I kind of miss them and wonder when Pumpkin will be picked up.
Barbie, I like your neighborhood. Very practical cleaning up days. No running all over the county to leave different types of things.

Wow, good to know, Lin. That is one plant I have been successful growing in the past. I might have picked one up if I had seen one for sale in the grocery or Home Depot. And you know Katie would have nibbled on it just to taste.

The sun was shining through my bedroom curtains so up early and overnight washing hung out on the rotary line just as clouds rolled in from the coast…. Blah! 😖
The cold wind persists but I will see if we can find a quiet spot to walk on the moors.

Happy Wednesday!
Another rainy day, will the sun ever come out to stay? Bryanna is supposed to come to trim my hair this morning if she remembers and then I have a dental cleaning before sitting.
I think I have either Bryanna's cold that she got in Arizona or from the kiddos. Charlie went to the doctor and has a sinus infection but is still her funny self except for when I put her to bed and had a croupy cough that scared me. When Lisa came home she said she told the doctor about her cough and he said she had nothing in her lungs so it must be nasal drip. I felt so bad for her and even with that coughing she didn't wake up but it broke my heart. She is on medicine so should be fine in a few days as I hope I am for my casino trip. I worry about my other friend who is having ankle pain do to an infection and bad circulation. She really wants to go Monday but I am beginning to think we should postpone until all are healthy.
Lin, I do feel bad for you with your sinus, because they can be so painful. Charlie has nasal meds and does so good with them including a tool that sucks out boggers. (sorry) This weather isn't helping any of us, we all need some sunshine and dry weather.
Anne, good luck at the clinic, be a good girl and maybe they will give you a sucker.
Jackie, hope you found a spot to walk without getting pelted with rain. Sorry about your laundry.

My day improved when we returned from our walk. No rain, just a freezing wind but we had a long walk anyway. The sun finally appeared so my washing is dry and I’ve finally finished making the raised beds. This 2nd one was more difficult because the ground wasn’t level and also a cherry tree is close by that sends shoots underground before popping up. I could have a dozen cherry trees by now if I wanted!
I spent an hour composing an email to quit my allotment plot but when I selected send, it disappeared! It was on my AppleMac that I can’t get on with. A Bluetooth mouse has been delivered but I’m wary after Anne’s experiences with hers!
Lin, Dan and family don’t seem to be posting anywhere at the moment, perhaps because so many who followed their journey to safety have dropped away. I’m sure they are ok although what’s happening in Ukraine must be a terrible worry. One or two Oligarchs speaking out so hopefully pressure from within will have results. Wow, is that teapot a fireplace or table? Now I look again, I’m thinking it’s a close up of a normal sized pot. 😆
Dear Patsy, you so want to see Damon happily settled with a loving wife and that’s natural. Mothers are allowed to fuss! I’m betting when you least expect it, an announcement will come out of the blue and it won’t be anyone you were considering… that’s life’s rich tapestry, all to do with fate!
Thinking of Anne, hoping everything to do with blood goes well.
Sandy, I’m sorry you now have a cold. Your weather doesn’t help does it! I can see why you would hesitate to go away. I prefer to curl up with a book than travel when feeling rough.

Sadly no sunshine here either. We were supposed to get some really “heavy” weather today. Horrible winds and heavy rain-hail. So far it is just the regular rain showers and a few small gusts of wind. No complaints from this end. We know all too well about “heavy” weather.
Today is going to be a day of doing one.title job after another. I need to mop kitchen and wipe out my fridge. Crumbs and various debris gathers at such odd places in there. I blame John but in truth I am equally responsible. I cram stuff in and things get shoved to the back of the fridge and become “science projects.” They are no longer classified as food.
Sandy: I trim my own hair and I do a color job every so often. Not as pretty as your hair but I would say as a home done hair do…not too horrible. Not many people see my hair. I often wear a hat. A rain hat or a hat to protect my ears in the cold rain. I also trim John’s hair. He doesn’t have much but it needs regular trimming. Easy-peasy! The hard part is wrestling John down to sit still while I trim. I am also Katie’s hair stylist. Katie hates it and resists and it is an all day job considering the vacuuming and cleaning the tools and putting away the grooming table etc. i need a grand daughter that cuts and colors hair!
Anne: this bloodwork is the kind that will be over in a flash. You will wonder why you were so worried. That’s what happens to me. I fuss and worry for days. Then I go for the actual bloodwork and it is over and done. No problem, no real pain, five minutes and it is over.
Jackie: good grief! This allotment problem has even spread to your computer. How can one guy cause so much problems? Well! We see a lot of that kind of thing on the world stage but in sweet dear Cornwall? I think you have come up on a brilliant solution. Your own allotment. You will be able to pop out work or check on your little seedlings and plants as they grow.
Lin: adorable little teapot. Almost like a little playhouse. The winds cause my allergies to act up. Blowing pollen and dust, mold spores etc. I remember a time when I didn’t have these issues. And then suddenly here they are. I wonder what happens in our body?

Wow, I did my errands while we were getting downpours. Got home soaked to the bone, even my purse looked like I could squeeze water out of it. My groceries were soaked in the paper bags, luckily everything was okay after I dried them off and I had to dry down the inside of my car which got very wet when I was putting grocery bags in the car. I guess it was good to have things cleaned up a bit. 😄
I paid some bills and ordered vitamins and sent email messages.
The lawn service guy was here, again during a heavy shower. Good grief, I have divots in my backyard from the cart zipping around the wet ground. Seemed odd to see him out there in such heavy rain. I don’t know remember ever seeing them treat a lawn on this weather.
Tomorrow I am attending a Zoom meeting regarding farmland. It is really early in the season for that but I will tune in.

We had a two hour power outage this afternoon along with terrible wind. Bessie is very frightened by wind so she spent the time next to us. I got a lot of reading done. 0 -
Quite hazy this morning but the sun is up there somewhere! George is still occasionally being sick. Yesterday it was a half hour after eating his lunch but I could see a lot of grass had been chewed so no wonder! Covers off the spare bed were washed overnight right the way down to a mattress protector that’s in a cycle at the moment so you can imagine…! His groomer visits tomorrow so I’m hoping he will feel better after a short back and sides.
My email to the council finally got sent last night but interestingly, my friend Linda told me she has heard of others having similar problems. Perhaps the man in the Kremlin is playing games! She has spoken to an independent legal beagle who will advise her how to proceed so I know she’ll be fine without my attendance on site.
A good question Patsy, how can one man cause so many problems? He appears to have mental health controlling issues and since he spent many years looking after his mother who is now in care, I do wonder if he is finally feeling back in control of his own life but gone a bit overboard. That’s my kind theory but you won’t want to hear my other option!!
I’m already feeling more relaxed and today will construct the upright frame from the allotment we used to grow climbing beans on and also contact my friends that own horses to ask for a few complimentary bags of well rotted manure!

Well I'm back from my five minute "ordeal". You were so right PATSY!!!!! In and out in 5 minutes after a tiny pin prick by a pretty Phillipino nurse who didn't look a bit like Dracula. When we got home I got the most rapturous welcome from Jilly! Joyous yips, zoomies, and finally "kissed" to death when we sat on the sofa. I had to get washed I was so wet with kisses. Honestly, I thought she would suffer a heart attack and I guess I'm loved!!!!!
Meanwhile in Australia my cousin wrote to tell me our lives are still following the same path. She'd been put on water pills by HER doctor last week. As though there isn't enough water and flooding in Australia, and guess what its heavily raining outside here as well. April "showers".
Everyone, please keep your fingers crossed for Dossi, a lowland gorilla who gave birth to the teeniest little baby in the Calgary zoo. She looks a very loving mother with her first baby cuddled in her arms. The gorilla section is now closed to the public whilst the 21 member tribe adjusts to a new life.
When we got home yesterday Mark helped me test my BP and if correct I've already dropped by 20. I think its maybe due to me not eating added salt for the last 10 days rather than the diuretic pills.
This pandemic has brought about change in my life. I've chucked all my makeup out apart from some foundation because I think I now look better without it. I won't be going to a hairdresser again either because I like my hair better now I cut it myself. I never could find a hairdresser who seemed to know how to cut fine, but thick hair over here. I think its because the hair stylists I've encountered are of a mediterranean or Asian background and are simply not used to wild blow away "Gaelic" type hair, with their own naturally thick luxurious glossy locks. All this money saving means of course I don't really benefit with the rising cost of food and everything else.
So, I've just got to get myself back in shape, slather on the suncream, put on a sun hat and Join our JACKIE and LIN in veggie growing, IF and WHEN it stops snowing or raining!

Happy Thursday! Finally a nice day with warm temps and the sun shining. Meeting today and then picking up Babe for dinner. The Mucinex D is working so I am feeling much better and ready for Monday.
My friend is insisting she is okay to go so as of today we are still on for the Casino.
Anne, glad to hear your blood pressure is coming down but I do think the pill is working with no salt, just my opinion, take it for what it's worth. I think the pandemic has changed all our lives in some way, some for the good and some for the bad. Losing relationships over the politics involved is one bad way.
Aww, fingers crossed for the baby gorilla, they are so cute and mama is so protective. Isn't it wonderful how our pets love us? Even Ewok can't wait to see me when I visit which makes me feel so good. Babe's DIL has a beagle who when I come in their house just bays until I pet her and say hello.
Jackie, I am glad you got your letter written and delivered. I think you will enjoy your own allotment without all the hassle. Poor George, he must have a sensitive tummy. I hope he is feeling better and stops eating grass. Who knows if their is duck poo in what he eats. I presume you meant he got sick in the guest bed???
Barbie, your weather has been awful lately, sorry about the power interruption. At least Bessie had some loving from mom while mom read.
Lin, oh no, sorry you got soaked and hope you don't get sick. I never heard of a lawn being treated while raining either, how does it stick to the grass unless the rain helps to fertilize it. I love the strawberry bar, what a clever idea. Good luck with zoom call today.
Patsy, I am lucky I can even style my hair everyday, so I do appreciate Bryanna even though she overslept yesterday and had to change to coming Saturday instead. Everything still a go for Damon this coming weekend?

The sun came out but we still can’t shake off the cold wind. A short walk round the block then George fussed to be fed so I gave him a bowl of his special chicken and lamb meat. He seemed fine for an hour then I noticed him eating large amounts of grass and soon after, being sick. A drink of water then back outside to eat more grass so there’s something odd going on. Tomorrow I will be visiting the vet practice to collect worming and flea meds for all of them so if he’s still behaving like it, I’ll make an appointment for him to be checked.
The climbing bean support is up and later in the afternoon I visited the allotment plot to dig up rhubarb crowns to bring home and plant plus another for Linda’s plot. Luckily, as I drove off road on to our entrance track the man at that end who is moving away with his wife, was outside so I asked what time the removal truck was likely to be there. It will block my route and I plan to get some early shopping. It seems I will have to be gone about 8am to miss their arrival but more important is the arrival of George’s groomer in her mobile doggy salon!
Anne, that’s great your visit to get blood samples went well. Isn’t it lovely how our pets greet us when we come home from anywhere. Betty always runs off to find her favourite toy bunny and brings it to me before spinning!
Yes Sandy, George had rested on the spare bed at some point yesterday and been sick! Luckily I noticed it as I put away yesterday’s clean laundry and immediately stripped the bed! It’s washed and dried in the sunshine but I’m loath to remake the bed in case the same thing happens! That’s great you are feeling better and looking forward to Monday.
I’ve eaten salad with juicy mackerel so will make a cuppa and relax for the evening. Perhaps I’ll read the instructions for the new wireless mouse, all the way from Guangdong, China!

Hello. Dry long zoom meeting is finally over. Some interesting information and some not so captivating. We were to type our questions in the chat box to be addressed later. I did have one question but each time I started to open the box, another question or comment from some kind of loony tune person popped up. I never did ask my question but I was thrilled that when they answered questions, they did not respond to any of her craziness. They ran out of time ostensibly. I hope their written responses to be mailed later also sort of ignore her.
Jackie, I am sorry that George is having digestive problems. I wonder what is going on. A vet visit might be in order. I am glad you are well and truly done with that troublesome man. Truly, life is too short. Lovely that you dug some rhubarb crowns. It is a good time of the year for that.
Sandy, glad you are feeling better. Another busy day with your meeting and dinner with Babe. I hope you have a good time. And soon the casino trip. Wahoo! How is your friend Joe?
Anne, I am glad your trip for a blood draw was not fraught with peril. In and out! Excellent! Well, with all of the things you are not spending money on these days, at least you will be able to afford the groceries and clothing you want. That’s a plus. Glad to hear your blood pressure is lower. Maybe a good combination of less salt and the little bit of diuretic. Whatever, yeah! So we will have a trio of vegetable gardeners, wearing hats and long sleeves and/or sun screen.
