Yes!!! What great news Barbie. Looking forward to more news and photos.

Wonderful Barbie. I am dying to meet her
Marie0 -
Happy Wednesday! I am going to lunch with Joe, my buddy from the pool who is in his 90's. The girl who cuts my hair is coming after work so I am skipping bingo which is fine with me since I could not fall asleep last night. I think the last time I looked at my clock was 3AM so I will be dragging today.
Exciting news with Barbie and Jake getting a new puppy!! I can't wait to see the pictures.
Lin, congratulations on the win!! Your cards sound beautiful, please post a picture of finished product.
Buzz, I am impressed with you doing a yoga class, good for you, but be careful. I hate eating anywhere but home, I gain two pounds immediately!! I like eating my healthy choice, smart one or lean cuisine dinners. I do hope you get your bank problem resolved.
Have a wonderful day!

Jeri - Way to go working on that last 10 pounds!
Sandy - Best wishes with your last 7 pounds too! Wow, big difference on the cost of your prescription!
Buzz - Nice to hear that you got to your yoga class. Hopefully, you can enjoy this on a more regular basis.
Lin - I feel like my health/life is re-entering a more normal phase now. One of the things that I’m more focused on this year is spending more time/attention on friends/family. Seeing all of the things that you do with your cards has inspired me to consider adding this as a purposeful hobby this year. I think I’m going to look around my area for classes or friends that do this so that I can learn more. Thoughtful snail-mail can make such a difference in people’s lives these days when so many things are less personal.
Barbie - We look forward to meeting Sasha’s new sister and seeing pictures when she arrives.
Well, my weight update is that I’ve lost 37.5 pounds since I began MFP December 2014. I currently have 23 pounds to go. Right now, I’m focusing on a steady one pound a week (or more) and I’m looking forward to arriving at my weight destination by the beginning of July. I am currently less than one pound away from a reaching that magic “normal” BMI.
Today, I shall be sequestered (so to speak) in the office doing the paper work I’ve been putting off doing.

say pals you all are so busy this morning. not me i did throw some veggies in my crock pot for dinner tonight. had beans and rice for lunch with a orange .

We had a nice time at the boat show. My knee did well and we stopped once for lunch and it wasn't crowded since it was a Monday. I did buy a pair of pj pants with anchors on them but they are too small so I will have to go and return them for another size. They are located where my daughter lives so a trip up there and I will exchange them. Friends from our sailing club bought a new boat so it was on display to go through it so we did. Very nice!
It has been a busy week with apts. so I have not been on here too much. Today was my usual chiropractic apt for my knee. I was doing really well and then last night I did the pigeon at yoga with my
knee and it was okay while doing it but today not so much. One position I can't do with my sore knee.
Live and learn. Just waiting to go to my dermatologist apt. I still have a spot on my ear which needs
looking at. Its sun damage.
Yesterday was my diet clinic apt. and the doctor says I am eating too many carbs and not enough protein so I will try and change this for the next visit in March. I am still trying to lose my holiday weight so march on as they say.
No time to comment I have to be going. Have a wonderful day!

Good afternoon, I went to Tai Chi/Qigong this morning, picked up a couple of sale items at the store, went to coloring (and plastic bag delivery) and home now watching big snow flakes gently drift down to the ground.
Marcella, I have been sending cards to ill and home bound people for a few years and I do get many thank yous so I guess they are appreciated. So go for it. I purchase inexpensive cards but like to make them as well as the variety of cards is not extensive here and I would likely be sending folks the same card over and over.
Shirley, glad you had a nice time at the show. And that your knee behaved.
Sandy, do you have all of your travel plans finalized? I think you booked your plane ticket(s). Do you have more trips coming up? One of my friends is in Orlando now and was saying (last weekend) that it was nice and warm and sunny and she was loving it. Another friend leaves next week for a long cruise. I think she said Central or South America? I don't know anything about cruises except I know they are available in many localities!
Marie, beans and rice makes a great meal. Simple is good!!
Okay, here are a few pictures of my tiny simple cards. These can just be mailed without it having to go to the post office to pay for non-machine processing. (Which was a goal for these.). If you put lots of lift in the cards the Post Office puts them through a little measuring device and if they too 'fat' they cannot be considered a first class letter and then and then apparently you have to pay more. So far that has not happened.
Hugs.

Wow, LIN, you are really producing lovely cards, but who would expect less from you?!
BARBIE, lots of luck with your new family member, and I'm sure she will appreciate your loving home! How are YOU feeling ?
MARCELLA, what a spectacular loss, which gives me incentive to follow you! I'm at the beginning again, and must relearn how to keep track!
MARIE, It's so nice to
SANDY, funny, I needed to get to bed last night 10, fell asleep almost immediately, woke at 2 AM and could not get another wink! So I, too, was dragging most of the day. I'll bet Joe appreciates your attention!
SHIRLEY, what a great excuse to see your daughter! Some of the yoga poses worry me, like will the back leg in a sitting position cramp up on me? I'm approaching yoga very carefully!
I hope JACKIE is having a great spa time. and I must get ready for dinner. Our CHINA Dine around was fabulous, lovely, and fun, and I did not gain an ounce! Next month we visit Paris!
They decorate the room so beautifully I will try to catch a picture on my iPad next time!
Buzz0 -
Lin - you are right, I am always up for a restaurant meal. Haha. I love your cards soooo nice
Barbie - great finding a new dog. I want to see pictures too. I miss your update as to how much you walk. So inspiring. What is your average these days?
Sandy - Sounds like a busy day ahead of you. I went to the casino today and won $60. That's a huge win for me. Hahaha. So thrilled. When I wake up in the night I put in an ear bud and listen to a book on an old iPod I have. Soon I'm off to sleep again. I may wake up several times but I usually fall back asleep very soon.
Marcella - very impressive loss. That BMI target is so close too. Good for you.
Buzz - it sounds like you live in a terrific place. You up and coming visit to Paris sounds good too.
Marie - your food sounded good too.
Shirley - the boat show sounded fun. Impressed with your yoga.
Time to put supper on. See you all tomorrow.

Buzz - your dinner's sound so delicious and I see they are doing a European theme. When does Germany come to dinner.
Lin - Lovely cards, you are one busy lady lately.
Jeri - Nice job on the 10 pound loss, you have been working hard on it.
Marcella- I see you are another talented gal who makes cards. I guess I need a hobby, I used to do rug hooking and ceramics and framed puzzles. I just seem to not have the time for that lately.
Barbie - I can't wait to see the picture of your new fur baby.
Two apts. today so not much got done and I will be able to clean the kitchen since the painting is all done tomorrow on the cupboards. Tomorrow I have a hair apt. and dentist apt. I will be glad when it slows down a bit.
Have a good evening.
Shirley1 -
lin your cards are getting More Lovely. Love them. Marie0

Good morning. We had a couple of inches of snow and the temperature dropped so we have some slick roads this morning. Once I get on the main roads it should be okay. I plan to go to the library this morning. I have a load of laundry going and when I get home I will start a pot of soup.
Jeri, that is a big win. I won NADA with my lottery ticket.
Buzz, yes please, if you can post pictures from any of your lovely events I would love to see them.
Marie, sending more good wishes your way--I hope Missy is settling in better each day. Is your weather warm now?
Ooops, I just heard a buzzer. So off to check my laundry.
Hugs.

Happy Thursday! Slept late so I just have time to eat and get ready for meeting. I will be back later.

Notice! Misty is learning to be a social eater. She is bring her bones out to eat in front of me instead of in her bed. She is making herself more at home every day Still has not got in my lap. But i do believe it is just a matter of time. No big plans today. -Marie1

Watched Manchester By the Sea this morning while using my compression boots; what a mistake! The reviews were terrific so I used a DVD I borrowed. It was totally depressing for me, and here I am at 1:19 PM and still haven't dressed or eaten. In a couple of hours our chaplain is having a Celebration of Life Service for all those who passed on last year, and I hope I keep cool, as the film was a big mistake! At least for today. Things are mostly easing for me, each week better than the week before. I guess stress affected me more than I realized as I was going through Mike's last year or longer, since today, after no longer using the wheelchair, I walked the corridor without my walker! Perhaps healing takes time!!!!! Now, having glanced through today's posts, I'll go get a bite to eat!
Buzz1 -
Buzz- Great news! you walking unassisted I guess all those activities are worth it. Congratulations!
I was curious about Manchester by the Sea I guess I will see it some day.
Another gloomy day and no sun, getting very depressing. I had my dentist apt and hair apt today and all is well. We are supposed to get some snow but nothing so far. We are so far behind in snow levels
than usual years, but other locations are getting a lot. I guess we should be happy not to have to shovel or use the snow blower.
Marie - So happy Missy is finally getting used to you and Jerry just takes time.

Today's Celebration of Life was beautiful, powerful, and very emotional! I had hoped to be able to keep my cool, but it was impossible. I asked one of the speakers to please send me the poem she read, and she promised to email it to me. It stated everything I had been dealing with and thinking about. Now I really need my sleep.

I'm looking forward to going to the" Georgia RV and Camper Show" tomorrow. It's going to be a long, but fun day. I say long simply because we will be starting our day at a friend's, son's Bar Mitzvah. We will enjoy lunch with them and then do a quick change into our camper-looking clothes before going to the camper show.
We love our little camper, but as we grow closer to retirement age, it doesn't hurt to take a look at other options. My hubby has never been much on camping. So, the fact that he's the one to mention going to this and he actually looked like he did, in fact, want to go, tells me that his head really is engaged with the idea that we're in the retirement count-down phase.
Today, however, will be spent cleaning, doing laundry and basically getting ready for the rest of the weekend. On a side note: I am presently 0.9 pounds away from finally reaching a "normal" BMI. I haven't been able to break through this place in many, many years. I will be careful how much I enjoy myself at lunch Saturday and I will relish all of the exercise I will get walking from camper to camper at the RV/Camper show.
Wishing everyone a wonderful and blessed weekend!
Marcella0 -
Happy Friday! Finally, the weight is slowly coming off, all my hard work is paying off. 4.8 pounds to go, I can do this!!! Lisa is coming with the boys after their nap today, she wants to get out of the house for a little while!! I will make some chicken breasts and a salad since we are both dieting.
Buzz, I can only imagine how beautiful the Celebration of Life was and I am sure it was very emotional. Sometimes tears are needed to help with the healing and missing of our loved ones. The poem will be a reminder of Mike and will help you get through the hard days.
Marcella, congratulations on your weight loss and being within reach of your BMI. It doesn't happen as fast as we would like but in the end in all pays off. Enjoy the Bar Mitzvah and camping show. Would you like to retire in a camper or travel with it?
Shirley, my daughter eats low carb and has lost over 30 pounds. When I visit her she makes low carb meals and they are delicious. Living by myself I find it too hard to do and I really do not like the Atkins frozen dinners, thus I count calories.
Marie, how sweet that Missy is coming out of her shell. She must realize what great new parents she has and will soon be on your lap.
Lin, must be out and about already, I think I am still turning over when your day begins.
Have a great one!!
Sandy

I had aqua fit this morning and some new people were there trying out a week of free days at the "Y" to see if they like it. I still like it and I need to get my cardio in because of my knee, today we did some interval aerobics where you go really fast for 30 secs then slow and then the same. I really enjoy that!
I picked up my leather jacket today which I had a new zipper put in and waited about 2 weeks to get
it but the lady at the cleaners did a great job on it!
Sandy and Marcella, cheers! for all your hard work and losing your weight and getting to your goals.
Marcella - Have fun at the RV camper show, I know we always enjoy the boat show when we go.
Buzz- Glad you had a great celebration of Life and the poem could help you deal with your loss.
Isaac will be coming tomorrow for an overnight, can't wait to see him.

Good evening,
Buzz, I am sorry for your sadness.
Marcella, enjoy the show. Let us know if you decide to purchase.
Shirley, glad you got your jacket back. Enjoy your time with Isaac.
Sandy, I hope you and Lisa had a nice visit.
Marie, glad Missy is more outgoing now.
I hope Jackie is enjoying her time away. Looking forward to hearing about it.
I went to Qigong/Tai Chi this morning and stayed after to talk to a couple of ladies. Mixed blessing I guess. I found out one of my favorite gals has uterine cancer and they were talking about whether she will need radiation and chemo after her surgery (which is coming up soon). Just got me thinking about the subject. She is over 90 although I do not know her exact age. Rose exercises, is involved in many activities and is a water color artist. Her children are giving their opinions on what she should do. Another of our Tai Chi ladies is 91 1/2 and in good shape. Staying active is a very good thing but cannot protect you from everything.
Anyway, I did a few things around the house and played a couple of DVDs and found I actually enjoyed the "Alice Through the Looking Glass"--I might watch it again before returning it to the library. I made a few cards where I will either add the sentiment later or write a note in them and then did a bit of coloring.
Time to read.
Hugs.

Stats for today:
20,000 steps
174 minutes walking Sasha
103 minutes riding the exercise bike while watching figure skating and knitting
taught the beginner line dance class
tomorrow I'm going to an event that will include sitting for a long time and listening...fortunately, I'm meeting a friend for a walk afterward and will walk Sasha in the morning before I go.2 -
Hi everybody, really too late to start with comments, though who could resist Isaac's Rudolph or not recognize BARBIE is back to normal? Thank you all for your comments, and I'd like to post that poem, as it was so moving to everyone, and comforting, as well. Sooner or later, I guess most of us will have to go through this, so perhaps hold on to it if you wish.

Happy Saturday! Buzz The poem is absolutely beautiful, I can see why it brings you comfort. Barbie 20k is amazing, I am happy when I reach 5k. I am trying to ride my bike every day to make up for the steps I don't take. Lin Nothing is guaranteed, no matter how healthy we think we are things happen. Tough decisions at 90, but as someone who wants to hang around as long as I can, I am not sure what I would do in her shoes. Shirley Isaac is just so cute, he has grown so much and his hat is adorable.
The boys came to visit in the shirts I bought them so have to share. (They say Big Brothers Rock...Little Brothers Roll ) The blanket I bought for Max also came while they were here. We grandma's brag a lot, but who can blame us?
Have a great day everyone!

Good Morning All,
SHirley. That is such a cute picture. He is getting so big. You must have so much fun with him
Lin- I'm sorry about your friend. Sounds like she has lived a good life , hard decisions
BArbie - thanks for the update, you always give me lots of inspiration. 20,000 steps, wow. I got 16,000 the other day and I was pooped but you did that plus more and more. We've all been working hard here too.
I got in 11,010 steps yesterday. And I rode my bike for 30 minutes. I am recording all my meals here on MFP again too. Trying so hard to get down to where I want to be. I don't have a lot so lose and the last of it always takes forever.
BUzz- that poem brought tears to my eyes. So nice. Big big hugs.
Sandy - just adorable
Time to go get in some more steps. I am listening to a book as I walk. That always helps.

Sandy - Your pictures of your grandkids are adorable and yes we do like to brag about the grandkids.
I can remember when Isaac was so small.
Lin - My MIL is 90 going on 91 in April and she has to make a decision too about whether to take a chemo treatment either by intervenous or pill. She doesn't want to do either so her next visit to
the oncologist will decide what she will do. She did say if it makes her sick she will stop, she doesn't
want to feel sick on her last days on earth.
Buzz- that poem is beautiful and I can why you wanted to keep a copy. I would put it on the fridge
and you can look at it everyday and it will keep Mike close to you.
I went to yoga this morning to drop off two of the meditation benches that Dave made. Theresa wasn't there to pick them up but she did leave the money. I stayed for the practice even though my knee was
not in great shape. I did feel better after I left.
We are waiting for Isaac to come to grandma's house. We are getting snow today and the side roads are very slick.
Shirley0 -
Promised to help fill gift bags for new admittance s to the skilled nursing floor, so I'll be brief.SANDY, JERI, SHIRLEY, MARIE, and ALL of you grand-moms...BRAG, BRAG, BRAG!!! There's excellent reason and those kids are priceless!
And yes, I find as I re-read that poem, it becomes more comforting to me! I was impressed that several of the men, (you know that breed without emotions!) wanted copies!!!
Buzz2 -
I misplace my camera.Seems that I am always hunting for some lost items, boo hoo
Lin you made my day. Love your Valentine card you sent me.Thank you thank you. My love
