New scales arrived yesterday from a retail store in the UK so hopefully will behave. Now the bad news... gained half a stone since before Christmas 😧😩😖. Not surprised but last night I finished my birthday box of chocolates so will now make a concerted effort otherwise the viscous circle will continue!

Oh I'm so sorry Jackie. I was on the same path but this past week of deprivation paid off! After the first week a 1200 calorie day feels normal for me so I'm hoping it will be easier to ignore those valentine chocolates - which I won't receive anyway, lol, and which makes it even easier.
SO..
LOST 1lb. (Maybe a bit more but my scale only shows pounds properly. Should treat myself to new scales as well)

I’m avoiding between meal snacks but haven’t been drinking as much water as I should but more coffee and tea. Perhaps my body is building up layers to keep me warm!!0 -

Eating plenty of fish and only one pasta dish in the week.

Just a thought. I also gained when I went on maintenance calories last time. Could it be our bodies think the new weight too low and therefore start to gain to normalize as it were and then of course in my case, I over ate again. I think if I manage to drop this time I'll try and eat somewhere halfway between 1200 calories and what's considered maintenance calories. Maybe the charts don't distinguish and account between large boned and small boned people. I would say I'm small boned, are you Sandy?0

Yes, I would say I am small boned and I am only 5’2”. I went back to 1200 calories but gain about 300 or more from riding my bike. But Fitbit says you can’t lose unless you burn more than you eat so it is very confusing. I think I should quit using Fitbit for weight loss.0

I'm 5ft 4:5ins. Shrunk 1/2 inch". Looked up calories needed for my age group and I read the maintenance amount for 138 lbs is 1550 calories a day! What! I'd be the street elephant in no time! That's why I'm thinking take off the 1200 leaving 350 calories, cut that amount in half and add to the 1200 and see what maintaining at a daily amount of 1375 calories achieve. Worth a try.

It's just confusing Anne. Based on my height ( I also shrank 2 1/2 inches do to a couple of back surgeries) and weight 130 and wanting to get down to 128 MFP says 1200 calories, it also says to exercise to gain more calories to eat. I could not just eat 1200 calories a day especially since I like a glass of wine or two which is my downfall.
I will just continue on this journey and not let it upset me since I am in pretty good physical health.1 -
And that's all that matters Sandy our continuing health. I got down to 132 last time which was too thin. This time I'm treating it as an interesting project. God bless, and don't forget - you are one very pretty lady whatever you weigh. Anne. Stew sounds good! Mmmm1

Lost 3 lbs but had more to lose than the 2 of you put together! Now back to pre Christmas but would still like to get rid of another 5 lbs.0
