Hi, I am newly diagnosed type 2 at the end of April and my fasting bs this morning (had to convert) is 5.5 ...so 100. I take Metformin 500mg twice a day.

Sugar is all over the place-went to doc on Wed 19th for A1c blood work. I'll know results this coming Wed 26th. 19th=122, 20th=137, 21st=117 & today was 143 (All were FBS upon waking up in am) I'm worried about A1c results coming might be over the top.

Try not to worry too much. Those numbers aren't too bad. At least some are hovering around 120. When you go see your doctor take your food logs and maybe they can make some suggestions about your macros and such. I just got my a1c results and they were 8.8 which was not good, but by showing my doctor my food logs and my testing meter readings he was able to see that the work I'm doing is improving things and in 3 more months we'll see what happens to the a1c. Just hang in there - the fact that you are concerned is a huge plus in your favor!

Just curious... most people posting here do very well on FBS. May I ask, are you getting such great readings via diet and exercise alone; Metformin; other drugs or insulin?
