I haven't done this for awhile (and I went through a period of having my binges more controlled) but currently I've been under stress and I keep resorting to food for comfort. I think coming here will help me, it seems when I write about it the urges lessen. I also feel like sticking to goals when I tell people on MFP about them. For example, today I wanted to binge... I was tired, and hungry. I made some dinner which wasn't low calorie, but I resisted the urge to continue eating. I did not overeat today. =)
I'm going to make some tea tonight and finish homework, I'll stay away from the food.

I made it through my first Saturday being serious about weight loss! There was no binge, and I stayed within my calorie goals. Thanks for everyone's support

Did a great job adjusting to meal plans changing on the fly today. Restocked my trigger foods yesterday and had one serving of two of them without going crazy. I do feel like they have less power over me now that I'm making having them in the house a requirement. It gets rid of the "If i eat it all today I won't have to worry about maybe eating it tomorrow" excuse because I know I'll make myself go buy more.

I overate last night, but I never lost control and stopped myself before it turned into a full-on binge. Feeling strong and powerful today!

I've been off MFP for way too long, lost control when not accountable to others, even if only in a virtual support group, so starting new.

Been away for a bit. Went away for the weekend. Knew these would be cheat days. However, I let my last cheat day become a binge. It's OK. I'm not ashamed, I will not punish myself. I never thought I would be "cured" from binge eating; but reducing them down to 1 every 2 months is something I can live with at least. I was however naive in thinking I could binge once and not have the urges return. But I'm back at it now. Definitely going to just attempt for maintenance. I have the big bad medical school boards quickly approaching, which now means 14 hour study days; lots of stress and anxiety. It is honestly the most important exam I will probably ever take, so if I can manage maintenance at this time, I will be happy! Hope everyone has been well!

I was gifted some AMAZING baked goods today (because my birthday is tomorrow!) and I am SO EXCITED about them but kind of scared they are going to trigger me. I got them in the mail and immediately put half in the freezer (they even came with instructions on how to freeze/thaw them which was nice) so I have a smaller quantity immediately available.

I am reframing what I'm considering a binge. Since I'm on a very strict diet program right now, I've been considering anything I eat off plan a binge. But yesterday I went off plan but I did it in a controlled manner because I wanted to do it. So, as long as I can maintain that control, I'll deal with the going off plan part separately if this is what it takes to keep me sane about it all.

Last night was pretty bad (roughly double my maintenance calories). I did log it all, but I spread it out over the next week to make it look a little less scary. I need to get back on track before I leave for vacation next Thursday, because I know I'm going to overindulge then. At least I'll be surrounded by people at all times, so no opportunities for secret bingeing!
