Hey Ed!
Be ever so thankful that you got everything done yesterday! I made an early gym run, and a stop at Publix, home and ate a little lunch, and got ready to go to Nate's OaCrosse game (first game this season). Got a text from Jack saying it was way hot and maybe I'd rather stay home....well heck no! My grandson was playing stick and basket, and I wanted to be there. Soooo, I went. Lasted for the first half of the game. IT REALLY WAS HOT!
Home now, got Tom E. into the house, and I've eaten a couple chunks of nice icy cold watermelon. Much better!!

Howdy. It's marvelous Monday! A REALLY hot one here with, again, no chance of precipitation. I might get out quickly this morning for a couple of items. Other than that, just trying to be cool, something I never quite managed, socially.

Good Morning Ed!
Heading out for the gym very shortly...like soon after I hit 'Post reply' ! Its really nice this morning...I've done about half the watering, and played with Tom, who took advantage of me last night, and was hiding in the house. I looked, called, no response and i went to bed thinking I'd put him out. Morning surprise! Hmmmm. Sneaky Cat!
Will look about laundry today..run the sweeper, steam some veggies for today and tomorrow for some easy lunches and dinners. And that is about all of that!

Howdy. It's terrific Tuesday! The forecast calls for (maybe) three degrees cooler today, which still leaves us pretty hot but I will happily take the three degrees and hope for more soon. I might get out today, if the vet gets Lilo's next scrip of Adequan ready.

Tom E. Lordy, what did I ever do to end up with this cat? I let him stay in the past couple days, and he found a spot in the front room that he claimed as 'his'. He willingly went out this morning after I fed him, but when I got home from gym and WM, he was waiting for me! He managed to get into my bedroom (off limits) and hid in a pretty obscure corner, and he's pretty much been there all day! He did come out for his dinner, then disappeared again into the closet....wondering what tonite will bring? WIll he come out? Will there be a big fight? etc. LOL!
Grandpa just really outdid himself with the lamb guts. Wonder how many lambs were slaughtered??
Going to watch Emmy in a minute. Look on her face is 'interesting'!
Did you get any rain this evening? I was talking with Jack and he drove into the rain. Lots of lightening and very loud thunder at my house, but not a drop of rain. Hope you at least got some rain!

Good Morning Ed,
Stuff...I set Tom E's breakfast on the porch and I took my coffee onto the swing. Tom would not even come out to eat!! I think he's 'indoor' kitty for the duration. He's disappeared again. I have to assume that he's in my bedroom walk in closet again....if that's where he's happy, then OK I guess. He spent the night there. I was afraid I'd wake up during the night with a kitty head (or worse, a butt) on my pillow, but I don't think he ever got on my bed. Which is GOOD!
Had an almost unsurmountable number of emails...have culled it to 40...if I can get that down to 10 I'll be happy.
I did spend 12 minutes on my bike this morning...trying the 'spread exercise out' to see if that helps get me off this many yeared (?) plateau!
So, I will hit the gym this afternoon and then pop in next door and buy my banana's. The 4 banana bunch I just finished was terrible. The were small, tasteless, etc...got them at Publix/organic for a high ransome price. Will not make that mistake again or at least not anytime soon!
I didn't even get a sprinkle yesterday. I think both my boys got at least a good sprinkle. I have seen this pattern before...like 7 ish years ago when we had the totally awful drought. I usually just complain that I'm living on the wrong side of Interstate 85!
Hope you have a good day....make something 'spectacular' for dinner, maybe I'll get inspired? I'm still using up the stash of 'convience foods that I bought this summer. Not complaining mind you...
Oh, do you use much tofu as you're cooking for J and or yourself? I ask because that last Costco run I picked up another carton of Sprouted Tofu..its really good...and the 4 individual packages are 18 ounces instead of the 14oz packages I find at Kroger/Publix/AND Whole Foods. All that and its only $1.47 a package...considerably cheaper than I find anyplace else. Would invite you to come to my Costco, I can get you in as a guest, and I'll use my card, at checkout...and you can repay me, or if you're not interested in coming to Costco I could be a nice person and buy a carton for you and we can do a Costco exchange behind Trader Joe's back!!! LOL!!!
Ok, time I get something done around here. Cat's still MIA...meaning I can walk around my house without tripping over a fur ball!

Best advice....GO QUICK! LOL! For now its quite agreeable out there. But by noon-ish it will be HOT!
It was so nice this morning, that I cleaned and vacuumed the screened porch, held Tom E. for a brief few minutes. He decided he'd rather be indoors than getting his fur combed. (imagine that).
My day looks a lot like yesterday, except I'll trade Whole Foods for yesterday's Walmart! Looked at their sales, and they have 2-3 things I want! (Like their Mock Chicken Salad, @ 25% off today only), I love that stuff, and there was a time it was affordable...and then they got greedy and the price went up and up...so I bought none!
Gym time of course....and a nap? Fingers crossed. And rounding out the day its trash to the curb day..so there's that to deal with.

Got out, got to the doctor, numbers looked good. Got shot while there. Flu started early supposedly, so I didn't wait until mid-October as usual.
Got home and had lunch. I think I may hear a nap calling!

Hope the pool party was fun. No rain, and not tooo hot! Not like the week days had been!
Grandpa made a bit of pasta! Good heavens!
I've had a busy, unbusy day! Mostly unbusy catching up with some pod casts and video summits, and still a bunch for tomorrow!
Finished up the last of my 'hot bar haul' from Thursdays trip to Whole Foods. Since Nate's LaCrosse game is tomorrow afternoon, close to Whole Foods, I may just drop in to see if they have any more entrees that I just 'have' to bring home!
Other than that, not much on my list! Yay!!! Oh, gym! I didn't go today. But I got my exercise stuff done at home. I understand that we're getting new 'furniture' at the gym..Mostly new treadmills, and I think a couple new bikes. They'll cordon off a section of the cardio theater and take out the old, and assemble the new stuff in that area. Its an intersting, and often loud process to watch!

Looks like once again your baked beans were a hit!!, per usual!!!
On Food 52 website this morning, I watched them make a marinade for shrimp with a half cup of srichacha among other spices and stuff. And you KNOW who I thought of!.... If It comes up when I go back, I'll try to find a recipe. I did try to copy the video, or find a link, etc. No luck there.
I'm off to the gym, then on to LAX, and maybe a stop at Whole Foods. (lazy me). But we'll see how I feel after sitting in the sun for an hour!

Howdy. It's marvelous Monday! Back to hot as anything today, but we might get some relief on that again by mid-week. I MIGHT get out in it today, but probably not. So just the usual. Look to see if there are any more cords Orion chewed up. We found one last night that, fortunately, had NOT been plugged in, that he gad thoroughly chewed, almost all the way through. He would have had a shock if it had been plugged in. We think he did that while he was still teething, last year, and hope we won't find any more. As it was about an 8 inch section that was very thoroughly chewed, we hope that this wire was his only one. We can splice the wire and it will end up about 10 inches shorter than it was.
Also, check a couple of outside plants to see if they need water, scoop the litter boxes (daily chore there), feed the cats, sweep up some ever present cat hair, something that has become more apparent since adopting Orion last year. Our first cat, many years ago, was a long haired orange tabby. Then, for about 10 years, only short to medium hair cats (luck of the draw) and now this long haired black cat. I swear we could knit another cat from just a couple of week's worth of fur brushed off and/or lost by him!
Of course we adopt cats based on mutual attraction and a couple of other factors, but color, looks, and fur length are not factors at all. Orion is the tenth cat to be adopted into this family and we are happy to have him. I have loved them all and cried like a baby when we had to let them cross the rainbow bridge. The current four are all well loved and we give them the best care possible.

Good morning Ed,
Its humid out but the temp, right now, 9a.m. is very cool and comfy for sitting on the screened porch drinking my morning coffee while Tom E. eats his breakfast. Its a challenge, as he periodically makes a run for the swing and hops on my lap...the challenge is to NOT be holding the coffee or worse yet drinking it! LOL
He's on day 4 of hijacking my recumbent bike. I have no idea why the sudden attraction. I was going to use it this morning, and he dashed in and hopped on the seat. I pretended I was going to sit on him...he didn't budge. So, I'm here saying Hi instead!
Soon to start laundry, and some lentils. Have a yen for a spicy lentil salad for later today. Also a remake of the Tomato, Cucumber, and Avocado salad I made 2 weeks ago. Guess its gonna be a salad kinda day! LOL! Could be worse. (you guessed it, Whole Foods had more of those expensive buy wonderful tomatoes!).
The LaCrosse game at 3 p.m was quite warm, but not nearly as bad as the week before. Nate's team won, and he played a good game. He gave me a 'Sweaty' ole Grammie hug, and you know I loved it all the same.
Ok, hope you don't find any more chewed electric cords. I know the feeling. Many years ago, in TN, the boys had a mini half lop rabbit....that rabbit chewed everything, including electric cords ...most of which WERE plugged in. I came home from work every morning expecting to find fried rabbit. Then one day, the rabbit chewed on the corners of Jack's 'computer' manual...I can't recall the name of the little thing. Supposedly you could 'program' it, and a Pong like game was about the extent of what I knew it did....but the kid was crazy about what was to come in computers... anyhow, Rabbit chewed on Thursday, Saturday morning he was 're-homed' in the mountains of TN with my Ex. I can't say I missed the little rodent, but I do have to say he was cute, and a major source of entertainment.
I think when Tom E. crosses the bridge he will be my last pet. As much as I'd like to have a nice quiet adult dog, its just not gonna happen. However, if I was to be adopted, and it followed me home, please let it be all one color! Tom E. is basically white, but has about 2/3rds dark, longer hair, so his hair shows up on EVERYthing. And all I can say is Thank You Ted for gifting me the Dyson Stick!!!
Ok, guess who's fussing at me...maybe my turn to use the bike????

Howdy. It's wonderful Wednesday! The lawn crew is out there now, noisily doing their stuff. Smart of them to get out there early, before the heat sets in. They have been doing this for years, so I assume they know how to keep hydrated, take needed breaks, etc. They don't charge by the hour and I presume the guys aren't paid by the hour either so can take any breaks they need. With two to four of them out there, our yard does not take long.
I see that an empty box of corn flakes appeared on the counter overnight, so one item to add to the perpetual shopping list.

I have only 3 minutes before I need to be on the road...seeing Chiro (wow that was a fast 2 months since last visit!), and lunch with Ted...most likely at Whole Foods...he'll probably once again buy 2 slice of pizza. Talk about learning to keep my eyes on my own plate!!!

Howdy. It's thrilling Thursday! It's supposed to be a very pleasant day here, with a high of only 26C/80F and no chance of precipitation. Now I can almost believe that Fall is coming in a few days! If you had asked me last week I would have had more doubts on that front.
Not a lot on the calendar today, other than the usual daily stuff. I might get out to buy corn flakes or we may just have to scrape by on bran flakes or crispy rice cereal until I feel like getting out. Then again, there are a couple of places I have been wanting to check out and today just might be a good day to do that.

Good Morning Ed!
I think I am going to love this day! It was great on the porch with morning coffee!
I need to make a run to Honda, and talk with a mechanic...yesterday while driving in Decaur on Ponce, I got a very annoying message saying I needed to check my gas cap. ????huh?? Well, I immediately pulled off into a gasoline station,and unscrewed the gas cap, and then put it back on. Still had the message. Drove to Dr. Pat's office, as she'd told me about a web site that might carry my Promise Irish Bread...and I'd forgotten what the web site was. When I got there, I again unscrewed the gas cap. Still same message. So,while there called Honda, they said to come by and pull into a service bay...and when I got back into the car, the message was gone. So I drove home. I'd had just enough of that day!
So...I did have to laugh at Emmy and the corn wine. Bet if she let that stuff 'work' for a few more days it would 'light her fire' I had a neighbor who made corn cob wine....the alcohol content was way up there! (but not as high as 'shine') LOL!
Today also I am going to Whole Foods, to pick up another container of the mock chicken salad, Prime members on Thursdays, 25% discount on all their deli items, this is the last of two Thursdays before October. And they have Broccolini on sale, and Honey Crisp Apples. I will check the price at Costco first....Needless to say, they have many more items on sale this week, but nothing else that I want/need!
I think I'm off to the gym. I never got there yesterday.

So glad you love shopping! heheheh! Most of the time I really don't mind. Except Christmas shopping...just too much hype, too many people, yikes!
Fall temps are here!! at least for a few days.
Spent an hour this morning talking to my friend M, as she was driving to her brothers' house. She was supposed to go yesterday...but all that rain! It did not get into her house...just 'to the house' at the patio level. She sent video of her hubbs sweeping water!. She had to miss a class yesterday, and turned out it was a good thing. The people who did get there, couldn't leave. Much rain, in 2 hours... and we need rain so badly!
Going to the Lanier HS football game tonite. Want to watch Olivia and the Color Guard. Should be fun. Will spend the night with Jack and family, rather than drive home at night.
So, I think you can bet I won't be here before noon tomorrow (Saturday)!!! But will be here before dinner!

I did get out, and got the needed grocery items, including the corn flakes. I had lunch while out, at Martin's on Jimmy Carter. A friend told me their breakfast is really good so breakfast for lunch, though some of the burgers and sandwiches did sound awfully good! Maybe next time. Breakfast was OK, for a fast food type breakfast.
