    Hey Ed!
Watched most of the video's...:). Emmy is just too much! I also watched the Twinkie Maker video. Girl is crazy! If I was eating with her, she'd have to fight me for the Snicker Twinkie...or we could of course, quietly just share it!:)
Did my gym thing...Saw my buddy Robert, who's birthday was yesterday...and he didn't come to the gym, little stinker! But we did have a good time catching up. He wasn't too overly excited about being 60. So I suggested that maybe he'd like 70 better, and he about passed out! LOL! He's nowhere near thinking forward, yet.

Made myself another breakfast burrito for 'brunch', and a sumo citrus to go with it. And 9, just nine yellow corn chips. Losing these pounds Ted helped me gain is going to be really tough.

Off to check the iPad and see it its my turn to play a Scrabble word. So far my tiles have been like 5 or 6 of 7 tiles being vowels. And I've only had a total of two tiles that have more than one point each. Really hard to come up with any kind of a decent score at this rate. But, I already have my word planned, unless Ted puts down something I can play off of and score some points.

I really would like a nap, and its nearly 3:30...Tuesday, so Jack calls at 4p. Not much of a nap today for sure...(if any nap at all)

    Later...

Thanks for the help getting the edit feature. I knew I'd used it before, but sometimes I have had issues with it...now I know why!! Makes me thinking of the 'Smarter every day' video's!! LOL!

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! The weather looks about the same as yesterday, or maybe they just copied the forecast to today. Not a lot on the agenda here. Hopefully a nap.

    Hi Ed,
Just finishing my lunch...(I made a burrito bowl, saving the 220k of the burrito soft flour )...that was at 1:20 or so...fair to say I got distracted???

I got a great nap, a load of dark clothes in the dryer..my new trick...toss clothes into the washer, take a nap..transfer to dryer! It works!
So when those clothes are dry, folded, hung, and put away...I will be at the end of my list!! WOOHOO!!!

Tomorrow will be the day I meet the January challenge for my watch...Happy Day. Friday I am doing nothing!

Four base cabinets now cleaned out. Some of the things will be put back, but most not!
Only one more base cabinet to go!!! Amazing what you can collect in 24 years...groan.

Unless the forecast changes, it looks like Sun. and Monday next week will be ideal days for this ole lady to be out doors, cutting back the zebra grass, butterfly bush, etc, I'll try to remove the part (about 2/3rds) of the Daphne that survived the winter. I'm debating putting another one in its place....will have to think on that awhile.

Hope your day has been good, and that the cats let you have a nice restful nap!

Bought a new dry kibble for Tom E. Its Iam's 'Healthy Senior' I think not. Pretty sure he'd have to actually eat it to be 'healthy'. Ya think?? LOL!

    Good Morning Ed,
No post yet this morning? Hope all is well with you, Jason, and all the cats. ???
Or, you are pulling one of my tricks...type your post, and not send it.....

It's chilly out this morning, but the air is dry, and it is/was sunny. Kinda overcast. Not white, nor wet..so it's all good!

Not much on the agenda for today..gym and ?????. I'm sure I'll find something to keep me busy though.

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday! Not a lot on the agenda today, though I do have to drop a guest off somewhere this morning. I saw him a few nights ago and realized he would need a ride asap. Or at least that I would need to give him a ride asap. He "volunteered" last night to end his stay in our garage. He's a little camera shy.

    hi7tni0pei8b.png

While out, I may pick up a grocery item or two,

    Good morning Ed!
Short and sweet for right now...Ted and I are leaving for Whole Foods shortly, and I'm still in jammies and robe! OOPS!
I wish I'd known you had guests, I could have brought Mr Ratus Ratus some goodies from the grocery! LOL!! Next time we have coffee I'll tell you about the rats that tried to take over my garage, and what I did to the WalMart Lady early one morning! I'm still laughing, and pretty sure she is too! Where does one take an intruder?
Have beans on cooking...old, old beans. About 4-5 years old kidney beans...I soak them over night and a lot of them split...all the better, as they cook up nicely with lots of onion, garlic, and a variety of spices..soft and creamy inside. Hungry thinking about them, and I just ate.

As rats go, this one was small to medium. Much smaller, and the cage grating would have been too big and our guest would have eaten the peanut butter and fled. But I also have a couple of humane mouse traps out there that would have eventually trapped him in that case.

We don't use snap traps as they don't always kill instantly. While I am not squeamish about finishing off a rat or mouse, it is cruel to have the creature struggling, in pain, for however long it takes to die of its injuries or be finished off by a human.

On the other hand, I AM squeamish about just murdering an otherwise healthy creature that can be rehomed, hence the live capture trap(s) we use.

He has been rehomed to a small park near the Chattahoochee river. The dumpster I released him at is near the woods, in the parking area, at the far end of the park from the "people" area, and he should not be troubling anyone there. He has a fair chance at a long, fulfilling rat life, though he will need to watch out for owls, foxes, feral cats, and possibly coyotes there. And there should be good foraging in the woods for him.

Howdy all y'all. It's satifying Saturday! It looks like it will be a nice day, albeit on the cool side.

Last night we went out to buy a desk, and stopped at a Chinese hot pot restaurant on the way home. The food was delicious, but I ate way too many noodles. Other than that, it may have been the healthiest meal we had all last month, with plenty of veggies and mushrooms.

Not a lot on the agenda today. J stayed up most of the night finishing up the "some assembly required" for the desk so will likely sleep in til noon or later today. Tonight we will probably start the month off with a pizza dinner. So much for healthy food so far if we do. LOL.

    Morning Ed!
Overcast, but not too bad outside.
Ted and Maya have gone to the Bathesda (sp) park for Maya's walk. The have a nice trail there. And while they are gone, I need to get the Saturday morning cleaning done.

I did watch Emmy and those sugar cookies. I had to laugh....her 'inner child' was having a field day! Also never saw anyone get so excited over a lab coat! LOL!

Hope your day goes well, and that you didn't have any left over pieces after your new desk was assembled!!

Another slightly new scam to infect your computer is makin the rounds via compromised web sites.

Loud, annoying screech and a pop-up box, in front of, and blocking reading of, a clearly fake System Warning that purports to be from the system, that can't be interacted with. The pop-up block presumably CAN be interacted with by clicking on the OK box, but I am not falling for that nonsense. The box says:
    This site says...

Windows Firewall has detected that your Windows 10
    is damaged and irrelevant.

As a result your system files are automatically deleted.

Please follow the instructions to fix the problem
immediately. This way you will ensure that your
    system is always protected.

    [OK]

The SITE says this? Since when does a site that was supposed to just be presenting a news story give me system information that the SITE hasn't been given access to?

My WINDOWS 10 SYSTEM, which is fine, by the way, isn't giving me any error message at all, and would not be presenting them to me in that manner even if it were.

So...my firewall has not detected that my Windows 10 is damaged or irrelevant.

IRRELEVANT? That's the best scary word you could come up with? How about infected, or compromised, or anything that actually sounds believable?

And if my system files are deleted, then why is my system running just fine? No, I will not be following the instructions to fix the problem. Because there isn't one.

There are a number of ways I can close this tab without actually clicking the tab or interacting with the attempt to actually infect my computer. I will simply take advantage of one of those, clear my cache, and move on thanks.

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! It's supposed to get to 61 sunny degrees here, with no chance of precipitation.

I haven't checked the official verdict from Punxsutawney Phil, but if I had a groundhog here, he would have seen his shadow for sure. All the same, I doubt we'll really have six "more" weeks of winter, since we haven't really had much of one so far. But with Mother Nature, one never knows, do one?

I can show you my bloomers already!

    glh6372p7b82.png

Usually crocus is the earliest to bloom so I am a bit surprised to see this Lenten rose jumping the gun. I don't see any buds yet on the white Lenten rose, but they may be hiding under the leaves. The daffodils are not for behind, with lots of buds swelling and likely to open any day now, and I can see some grape hyacinths popping up.

Might get out to Kroger today to see if they have any of their weekend specials left. I got some on Friday morning, when the selection had not been picked over yet, so haven't missed out at all.

    Hi Ed,
What a day. Nothing wrong, just nothing falling into place as was expected. So today has been sorta discombobulated. Had a nice lunch after I finally got home from the gym...yes, I went.
Chicken fried rice, (thanks WF), and also WF mushrooms from the hot bar. Broccoli and carrot steamed, and half a sweet potato. It was good, it was too much food, and the only fallout was some indigestion!! (which was deserved, right?) Your lunch looks delicious! Would love to know more about the cornbread. ????

Going to watch the Super Bowl. I will pick the Chiefs, as we lived near KC, Mo, and Jack was born there. We lived there when KC was in I believe the 2nd Super Bowl. (if you're really interested you can fact check that!...I really just don't care!)
Right now watching the evening national news...all I can do to not yell at the TV.

I think my Lenten roses are really early...will try to remember to take a phone photo tomorrow. They are just short of full bloom, and so pretty. My spring crocus have 'disappeared', but the fall ones come back like little troopers. I really should pick some more of the flower parts and put them out to dry. Saffron is not cheap!!!

Ok, I need to get my 'game' snacks together. Like open the bag of popped corn and the chips and the last of the Roasted Red Hummus. If that isn't quite sufficient, there is always peanut butter and crackers!! You can see I really knocked myself out over these snacks! LOL!

J and I made fried rice for his supper today. But just veggie and egg. I had leftover chicken, dressing, peas, and gravy.

For THIS particular dressing I used one large white onion, chopped, with one 12 ounce bag of Pepperidge Farm cornbread stuffing crumbs, 1/2 bag of jalapeño hush puppies, thawed, and crumbled, half a stick of butter, and 32 ounces of chicken stock, a generous amount of extra rubbed sage, some extra poultry seasoning, and extra crushed rosemary (I LOVE rosemary), along with a generous sprinkle of coarsely ground black pepper. Baked at 350 for about an hour and 45 minutes. Delicious!

While I didn't do it with this batch, I often make my own stuffing crumbs by making cornbread, using chicken stock for the liquid, and including all the onions, herbs and seasoning right in the cornbread, including jalapeño if I want it in this batch of stuffing. Then I add more onion and stock when I assemble the stuffing for baking, and more herbs and seasoning if needed.

    Enjoy the superb owl!

    Good Morning Ed,
Sitting here eating my avocado toast with sprouts no less! And my reheated cup of coffee.MMM
I had my banana with the first half of that cup of coffee! :)

Its going to be a beautiful day. Will be a great afternoon to cut off the brown ornamental grasses, and trim back this and that! A little too early for the roses I think. They'll sprout new stem/leaf buds only to be frozen off by the late freeze we always have.

Gym and my friend laundry are the only things on the 'indoor' list. And I can knock those out before lunch so I have the afternoon to enjoy a spring day.

Thanks for explaining how you made the cornbread dressing. One of these days I'm going to actually make a pan of real Vegan corn bread...and after setting aside what I plan to eat, and what gets frozen, I may very well make some of 'Ed's Famous Corn Bread Dressing' :) You published it here! ;)

I did have the Superb owl on the TV. Watched some of the commercials, not much of the half time 'show', I did watch the end of the game, because it actually became interesting.

    Good Morning Ed.
Its been a morning of a little of this and that! Had big cramps in my right leg, twice last night. The first time included my right ankle as well. Big time hurt. I turned my little wastebasket over getting to my cane, (cause I didn't trust that leg) made a mess, which I cleaned up this morning, moved the clothes I washed last night during the hockey game, etc. Still need to empty the dishwasher which ran during the hockey game. (It was a busy hockey game, but Philly won so all good)
Gym, Kroger to look for the sparkling water I like, and ONLY the water. I'm still miffed with Kroger...not that they care. I should go to the bank also, and gasoline for the car would be nice!
So it looks like one of those busy days, with little to show for it!! :(

Warm and nice this morning now that the rain is gone. Actually looks like the sun is trying to peek out, but not with much success!

Have a good day! I have to figure out what I'm eating today. There are left over beans, and steamed broccoli and carrots in the refrigerator. Maybe add an open face grilled cheese? we'll see!

I finally got my lab results back from my January 23 visit to my endocrinologist. All my numbers looked good, and in particular my A1c came back at a NON-DIABETIC level of 5.6.

This does not mean that I am not diabetic and it would still be a bad idea to eat a whole chocolate cake...but it does mean that, for now, my diabetes is very well managed!

    Hey Ed!
Its been a long day..and there's a hockey game to watch tonite! (We'll see about that!)
Slim pickings in the cooked/leftover options for dinner. I may have to cook...naw!
We ate at VeGreen last night. Good as usual. I got a sea weed salad to bring home. So there's that...and some 3 day old steamed broccoli and carrots...and some cooked kidney beans. Not a lot there to work with!

Stiff and sore from the extra long workouts. :(

I did go to Publix today. What a time that was. My friend Marietta called as I walked in the door. So chatted while I picked up groceries and when I had my 'stuff' just walked around Publix. I remembered to get all but one item, and realized that before I checked out. Some woman, not as old as me, but not a 20-30 year old either. Asked me about the boxes of tea..I tried to be helpful, and she flip flopped on whether that tea needed to be decaf or regular, and I thought we were done and she's pulling papers out of her purse, and she thinks I will help her with medical paperwork...she said she had medicare and medicade, and something that got her groceries..(SNAP? Food Stamps?) she wasn't too sure... and then she had this long assed form about additional health insurance she needed, because of a Kidney issue. OMG...I could not get her to let me go...I even sorta fibbed to her and told her I had to get home to get kids off the school bus...that I was baby sitting...but no, she wants a pencil so I can help her, and I finally lost her at the checkout. The little bagger girl asked if I needed help to my car, and for the first time I said YES! When we got outside I told her why I wanted someone with me. I had visions of her waiting to harass me in the parking lot. I don't know, but I had a really bad feeling about her...nothing added up. Anyway, home, tired, no nap, even though I knew what I was about to see, I got up from my 'rest' to watch the Senate vote. Romney's may have been the only honest vote in the whole damn room.

    So much for politics.

Time to hit the kitchen and expect a miracle!! (or a frozen dinner in the freezer?)

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday!

It was a rainy night in Georgia.

I believe it's rainin' all over the world.

We have flash flood warnings and we are supposed to have thunder storms and rain all day and possibly well into the night, with the temperature falling tonight. Well, it IS Thor's day, so I suppose one might think it's appropriate.

Barring any sudden emergency, I don't plan to go anywhere today.

    Hi Ed
all well here, no rain inside my house...lotta rain outside.
Ted just fixed himself dinner. I had a few bites. He just sliced russets about a quarter inch thick, oil and salt...baked the slices in a hot oven, sprinkled with Mrs Dash Garlic and Herbs, and that's when I stole about 4 of his slices...cuz he was about to drown the potatoes with shredded cheese! (I used 'my' cheese') on the ones I swiped. Delicious! Sometimes 'simple' really is better!

Warm enough that Tom and I sat out in the swing for a little while as it rained! 71 degrees this morning and very slowly falling all day.
Dark Sky app is not showing rain tomorrow..just overcast. I will be going to the gym! And other places that I didn't get to Wednesday.

Howdy all y'all. It's fantastic Friday! A lot cooler today, but hopefully not so wet. I may get out for a grocery item or two.

Well, I did get out in the cold today, to PetSmart, where they were out of the salmon flavor canned cat food I wanted for Lilo and Orion, but I got a couple of other flavors that Lilo is sometimes happy with. We are back on three different brands of kibble as Orion needs a special kidney diet to help prevent struvite crystals, Lilo needs a special kidney diet for extremely mature cats, and the young girls, Kiara and Dinah are still, for now, on a grain free brand that they seem to like. I may see if the vet thinks it would be beneficial to put them on the same thing Orion is eating, just to save the hassle of keeping up with so many. And since I got canned food for the young girls, and three tubs of kitty litter, and four cans of meal worms for the sugar gliders, it was in excess of $100 at PetSmart.

I then went to Kroger, which, by comparison, was cheap! And encountered extremely light snow flurries on the way home from there.

    Hi Ed!
I saw the snow...it was heavy snow showers. When I looked out, it appeared to be either fog or smoke...nope, just lots of tiny flakes dropping out of the sky! And it was over within 5-6 minutes! Tomorrow, supposedly will wake to snow...and mixed snow and rain..Since I'm north of I-20, and East of I-85 About an inch? We'll see.
I think the kids, will get a bit more...they'll be over the moon happy!
Made it to the gym, saw several old buddies. Hugs all around. Frank, who I hadn't seen in ages, was my 'joint replacement hero'. Old football player...2 knees and a shoulder! Oh my!! He answered so many of my questions.

Went next door and bought a few veggie things..got out for $10. Its not unusual for me to spend more on cat food and kitty litter than my vegan food! Maybe I'll just eat the cat??? Oh yeah, cat isn't a vegetable. Lucky Tom E.

Hope the snow and rain moves out like they say it will...then I can go to the gym around 3. I don't think I need anything else. Still have almost half a tank of gasoline, and lots of food in this house. Although I would like a bag of two of popped corn...we'll see how I feel about that after the gym. Planning to do legs and cardio...not quite as leg heavy as I did Monday..I don't need to be up with muscle cramps like that again!

    Later...

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying - and possibly soggy - Saturday! It's below freezing just now and the forecast calls far 90% chance of snow turning to rain. I peeked out and while it's frosty out there, at least on the cars, no snow is in sight and there is a streaky pink sunrise.

I don't have to go anywhere today so I will just stay in here where it's warm, at least until it's time to pop down the driveway to the mailbox.
