Tonight's dinner was navy beans, that I soaked overnight last night, cooked with smoked pork neck bones. When they were done I shredded what meat I could get off the neck bones, stirred that back in with the beans, and served over home made Southern buttermilk cornbread.

    Hi!
Just finished my dinner...big salad, a sandwich with the Teriyaki baked Tofu, veg. mayo, onion, tomato and leaf lettuce...it was so tasty! Also had the last ear of corn from the refrigerator.
Went to the gym this afternoon, which I rarely do on weekends...but they are closing the gym for a few days to replace all the rubber mat flooring. They hope to open again Wed. if all goes well, otherwise it will open Friday. Its ok, there is a Planet Fitness about a block from Whole Foods! So I can go there if I want to.

I heard all the thunder, rattling, and crashing last evening...and today my neighbor said it did rain during the night...that I slept thru. (can't sleep in hearing aids, so I sleep well storms or not!) The earlier noisy one hardly dampened the driveway!.

Back is sore...I think it may have been some extra walking I did ?

I did laundry today too Roger. Only one load, but its dried, and hung on hangers.

I made notes from several of those recipe's from today. Will try the tempeh later this week, as I have a block that needs to be used by July 1. And I'm more than curious to watch Aunt Fee get spicy in her kitchen! LOL! I have some ramen noodles so I may try that, except mine don't have a flavor package...so I"ll have think about how to give it some flavor...garlic? or green peppers, onion???

Tom E is being weird. He doesn't want to go back out after eating his dinner, and his snack. I tried letting him out the front door, and he went across the porch, and another 3 ft on the sidewalk, turned around and came right back inside. Usually he fusses at me in a low-ish t one, and tonite this is a much higher, whine-ish voice. Almost like he's afraid to be out doors.
    Wonder whats up with that???

Ok, I'm shortly heading to bed...and Tom E IS GOING OUT!

    Later...

    Hi
I'm back from walking and found 8 cents (8 pennies) within a one block area as I was nearing home. The Temperature out the door was 57 degrees.

What kind of Festival is it ?
It's just a "welcome to summer" sort of festival, but they do seem to always include a car show. I saw a number of tent/booths set up along what part of the road I could see, as I turned my van around, but honestly I have never gone to the Peachtree Corners Festival as it's always in the summer heat! I know it's not technically summer yet, but it feels like it down here.
    Hi Ed
Thank You for elucidation what festival it is.

As an addendum I mentioned the Banana Cornbread Pancakes to my brother and he did not think they would be good either.

Despite the heat I would like to get to a State Fair or County Fair. The ones they hold in NJ are not near me :(

Looks good to me, When my brother makes them they are cooked with left over Ham bones and meat. Likewise when making Pea Soup.

    Have a Good Day

    Hi Valerie
We had rain Sunday afternoon into the evening, It was still raining lightly when I retired for the day. This morning it was not raining, however as wet as everything was and considering the Drops falling from the trees it had recently ended. I did manage to stay dry OTOH so it was all good. No thunder that I heard FWIW.

I finally got the laundry started this morning, A good thing as I am down to one last change of t-shirts and underpants

I have Ramen Noodles too, still sitting on the table, The package shows 2 servings per package and 190 calories per serving and 27 carbohydrates per serving. I may end up binning them due to the high caloric and carbohydrate per package, I keep waffling on that. I am also thinking of trying the seasoning package as a Bullion type broth. That is not real bad except I know me and that I would be eating the entire package :(

I have a 1/4 of a small Watermelon for fruit today
Looking it up lots of nutrients fairly low calorie and Carbohydrate per 1 cup serving too.

Maybe there was something in the air he did not like the smell of ?
Speaking of air at least the rain helped clear whatever has been making my nose run while walking...

    Have a Good Day

Howdy y'all. It's magnificent Monday! 84 with an expected high of 86 and 30% chance of precipitation.

I've been up since shortly before 7:00 but distracted by this and that.

Breakfast (and lunch) were made up from leftovers of last night's dinner. About two meals of that left, I think.

Nothing major on the agenda for the afternoon. Maybe a nap.

Well, if one is going to eat ramen noodles, one probably SHOULD make DIY sauce rather than using the little packets that come with it.

    Hi Ed
Monday we had a high around 72 degrees and 100% chance of rain as the rain had ended slightly before I left for my walk. Today is cooler overnight and forecast to be dry with a 60% chance of rain on Wednesday.

I like leftovers, especially leftovers from Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Day feasts. Other than that Leftover meat such as Pastrami or Corned Beef.
Well, if one is going to eat ramen noodles, one probably SHOULD make DIY sauce rather than using the little packets that come with it.
I waffle back and forth on the Ramen packets

IMO anything can be overcooked, OTOH some things I prefer much more cooked than my brother.

Howdy y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! 70 with an expected high of 82 and 30% chance of precipitation.

Lilo has had her shot (and the usual post-shot treats). Kiara is running around like a hooligan, knocking things over. Dinah was chasing around with Kiara but finally ran up to sit on J's desk to rest, while Kiara continues the hooliganism.

Kiara wants breakfast. She'll get it in a few minutes.

Need to pick up a prescription, buy paper towels, and buy some chicken thighs for the sugar gliders. If I don't get them today, they won't run out but the prescription was ready yesterday, so I might as well get the other things while I'm out anyway. Probably laundry to do today. Dishwasher ran overnight and I put the clean dishes away this morning. Need to clean the cat bowls from yesterday.
