Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! 84 with an expected high of 88 and 20% chance of precipitation. The lawn guys came bright and early this morning so the lovely smell of freshly mown grass is outside.

Need to clean yesterday's cat bowls. Nothing much else on the agenda.

    Hi!
Watched the mock lobster salad sandwich video...I've never eaten heart of palm but if the texture is 'right' I may have to give that a try. Ed, Roger, anybody eaten heart of palm?? I also saw the polenta sticks, and watched it again...somehow even baked, those look very interesting. I can see me making those this winter.

Non-busy day...Gym, lunch, nap, and dinner soon. Oh, I did go to Publix as I woke up thinking about dinner, and decided what I really wanted was French cut green beans, frozen. So, after gym I picked some up. Had them with lunch... and I did a load of dark clothes...what's new???? LOL!!

Wow! Nice, but hot day just morphed into big wind and then toad strangler!! All in less than about 20 minutes!!
    Mother Nature's on a rampage!!

Roger I have NO idea why anyone would buy anvil type pruners. I've wondered that for years. And this will make you chuckle....I've never eaten Tofurkey!!!

Ed, hope your day went as well as could be expected. Funerals are never fun.

Think its time to fix some dinner. Tom's eaten so it must be my turn. :)

I have eaten tofurkey. It's actually not bad.

One year for Thanksgiving I decided it would be fun to get a stuffed tofurkey roast at Whole Foods, some vegan giblet gravy, and a few other sides.

While it was a tasty enough meal, I prefer real turkey.

    Hi
I'm back from walking and finally one (1) cent  The Temperature out the door was 79 degrees and very uncomfortable walking due to humidity.

    Hi Ed
Today is once again forecast to be in the 90s, The heat wave continues :(
The humidity is forecast to be lower later today, too late to do me any good walking. I will be out the door later after my brother leaves to go to the post office. I have to ship back the old cable modem that they sent to give higher speeds for the same price, At least it is a prepaid label.
A price too high as is IMO. The swap was a pain in the neck. The problem started with the instructions.
Step 1. Download their App to the Smartphone.
Step 2. Scan a QR code.
    Step 3. Swap modems.
Step 4. Go back and use the app to activate if I understood it.

I did not pay a lot of attention to all the steps as all we have are Dumb Phones AKA Flip Phones that have no Internet, one or two have cameras, Unneeded IMO FWIW. Therefore I ended up on the phone to the cable company. It started off poorly with the announcement that there was a 45 minute Que ahead of me. Did I want to stay online or set up a callback. I chose Callback. Then the darn thing took forever to get going :(
    Vegetarian "lobster' rolls.
Why is what came to mind, I have never eaten lobster nor do I plan to start at this time of life. Pop did like Sealegs, Just in case:
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crab_stick
Crab sticks, krab sticks, imitation crab meat or seafood sticks are seafood made of starch and finely pulverized white fish (surimi), shaped and cured to resemble the leg meat of snow crab or Japanese spider crab.
    Baked cabbage steaks.
I've never seen these, I have seen Cauliflower Steaks on cooking shows OTOH.

    :)
I suspect that there is no way to get the same texture ? Taste might be achievable but the strand texture of real meat, I do not know.

    Vegan Giblet Gravy

Sunday My brother brought home a 50 % off Perdue Oven stuffer, and Stuffing mix. Since it was a reduced 5 Pound + Chicken it was cooked the same day. Giblet gravy too. Tasty also.
Somedays it pays to scout the Bargain Bins at the ShopRite They have several, One for refrigerated foods such as baked goods, Lunch meats and more, next to rack of discount baked breads and donuts. Back in the meat section a up to 70% off space, By the Deli a section for Deli item Ends.

    Have a Good Day

    Hi Valerie
I have never eaten Palm Hearts so no feedback is available from me.

I have been eating the Organic Frozen Green Beans from CostCo lately. I put 4 or 5 baby carrot sticks in the bowl, Toss in a couple of the Organic Sprouts from CostCo then add the beans to my target weight and heat, tasty and a variety. FWIW the sprouts were packaged in one pound bags inside of a larger bag to a total of four pounds.

That sounds like normal NJ summer weather that we see on hot and humid days.

    Have a Nice Day
    Roger

P.S. I will be looking at that video that shows what looks like Spaghetti with sauce and cheese, it looks tasty so far.

Howdy y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! 71 with an expected high of 90 and 50% chance of pm thunderstorms.

Need to get yesterday's cat bowls cleaned up, and feed the cats. I've eaten already.

10 shopping tricks to get the best? Take with a grain of salt. Just be sure to buy the best salt for the money! I love the blanket description of NO SUGAR ADDED, etc, as if ALL such products are full of chemicals, and as they say...we don't want to eat chemicals, do we? Well, I want to eat chemicals. EVERYTHING is made of chemicals. OMYGOD there's sodium bicarbonate, a cleaning chemical, in the biscuits! Sodium chloride in the stew! CHEMICALS! Run for the hills!

I think I posted earlier....too tired to look back and see. Soon as I finish here, I'm going to bed!

Went back to Costco after gym today...I meant to buy rice yesterday...forgot. So, got the rice, came home took the trash can to the curb...not the recycles. I should have a recycle cart coming..signed up for one. (free). I may take the recycles out if I no longer hear thunder and the rain seems to be over. Otherwise I will have to get up early tomorrow to take out the recycles...bin is full!

Back to Costco....You know those tasty bites they tempt you with? Well, one of them was Heart of Palm! They tasted slightly brined, and the texture was a bit harder than lobster...but I can see them subbing for lobster.. Also I'll look to see if I can find some frozen and not brined.
Roger, fake crab is quite nice. Though you really have to watch what you buy...I got some once that was Pollack, but contained crab juices...and the crab juices were not mentioned on the ingredient label. This was probably 30 years ago, and labeling has improved a good bit since then!!!
I you have the chance Roger, you really should have a lobster po-boy!! Makes me hungry thinking about it...and I just finished eating...

What else?? I only recall the 'usual' laundry and loading the sink dishes into the dishwasher....

Tomorrow I see the Cardio doc who has watched my echocardiogram, and I'll hear what he has to say....
    Wish me luck.

OMG, Chemicals  I'm pretty sure we are made from chemicals as well as what we eat. I prefer My food to have preservatives in it too.

    Hi Valerie
We have a Tub that we put the rolled up 1/2 liter water bottles into and then I Usually have a cardboard box that I put the paper goods into and sit it on top of the plastics bin. We also have a smaller rectangular bin that is marked for paper goods and a Round bin for the other types that were distributed when they introduced mandatory recycling. I actually use the round one as a garbage bin.

I think it is too late for me to start trying to like seafood, Things like Sea bugs AKA Crabs and Lobsters. Clams, etc.

    Good Luck at the Docs.

    Have a Good Day
