    Hi
I'm back home from walking and No Money found. The Temperature out the door was 60 degrees and comfortable. Later this evening into tomorrow there is rain in the forecast.
When I was on the outbound leg I saw the same three deer I have been seeing lately crossing the road ahead of me.

    Hi!
There is NO progress going on today in this house. That has to change!
Loved the video's. Something about Chef John's sing-songy way of speaking drives me crazy. He sounds much better at .5. I tried .75 but it was still sing/song....My mother used to once in awhile make cream puffs. Always a great treat!
I haven't watched them make the Pantone Bread. I LOVE that stuff. I 'used to' a long time ago eat one of the big ones around the Christmas holiday...So good! So 'wrong'! slices put into the toaster oven with a slice of cheese and toasted was amazing! As was butter or peanut butter, etc. Good thing I'm heading out for the gym shortly.
    Hi Valerie
I had not realized that making Panettone Bread was that involved, It is amazing that it sells as cheaply as it does too.
I did a quick Google and saw this

I discovered changing audio speed when I was taking a nutrition class from a couple prof's in N. Carolina! I could speed up their lectures..and they were still very understandable, and only half hour long, instead of the full hour! Saved me lots of time!

Ed, its hours later...hope you're still feeling pretty good like this morning!
I'm waiting for the 'mood' to strip returns sometime this afternoon, after gym walk.

Roger, sad to say I watched that rotten raccoon fling himself off the side of that building and fall 9 stories!! Amazed he quickly got up, and ran away!!
Yep. peanuts in Coke was a real thing...The salty sweet Coke was good. (I was in high school.)

Ok, off to endure a date with the TM.

    Later...
hopefully You got going in the kitchen, is there much more to do there.

High School, I was there when Kennedy was shot.
Did it! Stayed on the TM for as long as I could tolerate. Had I stayed another 20-ish minutes I would be good for the day...but, nooooooo! So, Fitbit just tapped me and the display says I need another 149 steps to 'Win the Hour'...
    So, a-stepping I shall go.

    Later...
I am so glad that my FitBit does not and can not push me like that.

    Have a Nice Day

Howdy all y'all. It's magnificent Monday! 71 with an expected high of only 82 with 40% chance of precipitation. Nice to have it cooling down a bit again.

Might get out to Walgreens today to get an appliance bulb for the refrigerator. I'm glad that it has TWO bulbs in the refrigerator part so it's not entirely dark in there. But as I recall, it is a bit tricky getting the cover off without damaging it, so I may have to watch a Youtube video to refresh myself on that. The oven bulb had to be replaced recently but that one is quite easy. Just snap the metal wire/band that holds the cover to one side and the cover pops right off, then remove the old bulb, install the new one and snap the cover back in place with the metal wire/band. Easy peasy. If I recall correctly, the refrigerator requires pushing two PLASTIC tabs back at the front, with a screwdriver, without damaging them, and also removing a screw at the back, though my memory of having to remove the screw may be faulty.

Need to clean yesterday's cat bowls and feed the cats.

$1 cookie vs. $90 cookie. Worth it? I say go with the $1 cookie. Maybe $2. But not much more, generally. Now if someone wants to GIVE me that $90 cookie, I'll be happy to eat it. LOL.

    Good Morning!
Been up for awhile..its Monday...laundry waiting, dishwasher running, work on kitchen is down to moving a bunch of jars, and the Vitamix to a new very temp. location. and then the wall paper removal will begin again. When I get to the refrigerator I will pretty much consider myself done, as that is where the tiles will go...however I will need to strip the little bit of wall space where the pantry is located. And I think that area will all be painted by good ole me! Also the refrigerator will have to be moved to get that area...and I can't move that big boy! I'm pretty happy with the progress in the kitchen. Now to find out when Antonio will have time to do the job.

Roger, worry not...the Fitbit only does what you tell it to do...I rather like the hourly reminder to get up and move around a bit. They set the 250 steps, because its quick and easy...about 2 minutes indoor/room to room walking for me..
I will check out the links for Pantone bread in just a bit. Several things needing my attention, and its time for the fb to tell me to move. :)
I also want to check out the tamales...I'd never had 'real' tamales until the little one next door had her 8th birthday!!! A friend of theirs made a near mountain to tamales...and they were delicious..yes, each one had a little nugget of meat in it...but...also vegetables, and of course the masa..
    Back in just a few...

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and No Money found. The Temperature out the door was 58 degrees and comfortable. The rain in the forecast that was to arrive overnight was a light drizzle out the door with some brief periods of slightly heavier rain. The forecast is for heavy off and on rain today :(

I went back out and helped my brother with one of his hobbies and ended up with several thousand more steps.
He also pointed out the Pear Tree growing wild that he had brought home some of last year. When we checked we picked up enough to overfill the Fruit / Vegetable drawer in the refrigerator. They are not a sweet variety but tasty enough so that is some money saved for the future. Since they are growing wild I will be cutting them up just in case of a worm inside

    Hi Ed
The last appliance bulbs I picked up we got from the appliance store. The question they asked us was Refrigerator or Oven, It seems You can use the clear glass ones for both whereas the frosted ones should not be used in the oven.

No owners manual handy ? That would be my first place to look for how to do common maintenance.

    Hi Valerie
The current thinking as I understand it is that moving around is better for Your health, I'm on the fence with that one. I do know I would never have worked in an office with standing desks like some are now doing.

Masa is easy to make from what I have seen on cooking shows too. Fresh Masa made into fresh Tamales cooked inside of corn husks would be a lot different from what many eateries serve.
Well, that was one very long minute! Gym, groceries, finished the stripping for the day Antonio comes with the tile! I think I could say with confidence that I am T I R E D!! Should sleep well tonite!
    Mañana!!!
I'm used to that phenomenon from my brother saying hold on for a minute, 10 or 20 minutes later still waiting...

Congratulations, Here is my hopefully easy question for You, Is the surface clean enough to tile or does the removal process leave a glue residue that needs to be cleaned off ?

I am sure You did sleep well, after getting back out yesterday with all the extra exercise I still had some problems sleeping as late as I would have liked :(

Yesterdays weather never got out of the 60s, Today temps should be good, just wet and Wednesday the forecast is for the weather to hit 80 degrees or higher before dropping back to seasonal Thursday.

I checked the New Heat resistant cement I placed where the Furnace exhaust enters the Chimney and it is hard and did not crack like what I used last year did. The appliance store also said the when we change the water heater the flue pipe will need to be changed from a three inch to a four inch pipe and that raises the cost significantly, I asked as sooner or later it will need to be changed :(

I haven't had birch beer in years. I bet that would make an interesting marinade/glaze too. It's not easy to find down here in the south.

    Hi! Tuesday..little after 12 noon!
    I dunno know why....
Lots of 'watching' left to do from not only today, but a couple I left from yesterday too. :(

Ed, I would vote you get to be the cheese taster of the new cheeses. :) Cheese lights up the same areas of your brain that recreational drugs, serotonin, etc light up! What am I saying? Cheese is a drug, its one of the last of the 'legal' highs along with the caffeine in that cup of coffee or cup of tea! LOL!

Heading for the gym in the next 10-15 minutes..walking to do, and I MAY take a stretching class????

Supposed to rain this afternoon. We surely need it. Things are looking 'wilt-y' around here.

Stripping was done, as in completed yesterday. That covers or uncovers the back splash area behind the stove, and under the upper cabinets. There is still some wallpaper on the wall that holds my pantry, and behind the refrigerator. I will strip the pantry, refrigerator will have to wait til Antonio is here to get the range and the refrigerator moved. I don't think the walls will be a problem if they are tiled. If I was going to paint it would have to be washed there's a product that you use to get that done. (but I will run that by Antonio to be sure! Thanks for reminding me.)
Right now, the things that are normally on my counters is now pretty much everywhere. I couldn't find the fruit bowl this morning! It was an interesting hunt! Cooking is also a challenge, so meals are very basic right now!

Still hot here...not as hot as last week, but still 6-8 degrees to what it should be, according to the weather guesser.

    Ok, gym time....

    Later...
