    Time limited today Thursday...October 25, 2018.
Today my 'baby' turned 49! Dear god..I am old!! He's a weird, wonderful guy. We had a great lunch at RThomas yesterday...a lousy waiter, but I guess eventually if you go to a certain restaurant often enough, that is bound to happen.
Aldi's has a couple things I want, and then its off to Kroger...followed by lunch, and O's gymnastics.
Got my hair trimmed up yesterday...it is now 'officially' all one length hitting about my jaw line. still, after all this time, not sure I like it! (now that is sad...a whole year...oh well)
Overcast...but I don't think rain is predicted, until tomorrow...:) and since they keep saying rain...and we never get it...not so sure about that.
Carb free, and saturated fat off the wall....that is one lousy trade off, IMO. So is a Keto diet since I'm dishing out IMO's!!! Having said that...guess who did Atkins, twice. LOL shaking my head...I don't learn easily.

Ok, need to scoot...back later tonite? I think..

Down loaded the new operation system on my Macbook Air. Looks neat. I opted for the 'new' Dark Mode...not at all sure I like it..may go back to the old 'light' mode.

51 degrees, and not looking to see 60 today. I think that means I get to wear my new bright red jacket!!! Yes, Pollyanna at her best today.

    Later...

Back from ALDI and lunch has been eaten...including one of the Asian Veg burger...tasty! Cut it into small pieces and added it to my bowl or rice, chopped up french green beans, couple of teaspoons of the Hatch Green Salsa, some general spice mix, and I cooked the Veg. Medley (very nice small pieces of broc and cauli...the slices of carrot I cut in half) Lunch was nice, full of vegetables, and my 120 grams of rice...I'll stay full a long time today. Still, however need to eat an apple. Maybe later after Kroger..
For now, gotta scoot, (again). I bought several other things from Aldi like Bavarian Sweet Mustard, trying some minced garlic in a squeezy jar, oh, and some German mild roast ground coffee so I can play with my French Press. Have been just using it for my afternoon tea. May mess with the Coffee tomorrow...maybe...

Just out of curiosity, I checked Google to see if Vermouth is used in cooking and apparently it is used and can (with certain caveats) be substituted for other wines if necessary.

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and No Money found. The Temperature out the door was 34 degrees and comfortable.
There is rain in the forecast for later today into Saturday. If the rain Saturday is as forecast for amount and the winds then I will be staying home Saturday.

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! 51 with an expected high of 58 and 20% chance of precipitation. I think Fall is officially here.

The dishwasher is running now. I need to clean up yesterday's cat bowls and, eventually, feed the cats. Oliver has been climbing the cage that the sugar gliders live in and laying on top to watch them. The female mostly ignores him but the male is terrified of that evil kitten. We are trying to break him of this habit. I just put some aluminum foil barriers along the bottom back that might deter him slightly. We'll see...
    Hi Ed
Foil barriers, how does that work. Evil Kitten

Fall is here too, Winter does not seem to be to far off.

Italian seasoning in the breading sounds delicious, Do You buy a commercial seasoning or make Your own ?
Sometimes a small amount of cheese may drip off. If I am baking something where I feel pretty sure it will be drippy, it's either on a sheet pan or there is foil on the lower shelf to catch that. If it's just a tiny amount of cheese, I don't really worry about it. I decide based on how much cheese is on the pizza, and how likely I think it is that some will drip off.

I sometimes mix my own Italian but in this case I added Trader Joe's Italian Seasoning, along with some salt and pepper, to plain bread crumbs and then mixed it well before pressing crumbs on to the drained, brined chicken breast piece. I've generally been brining my boneless chicken an boneless pork chops lately and it really helps to keep them from coming out too dry, unless, of course, I overcook it.
My brother usually buys Italian Seasoned Bread Crumbs, They are good enough for him
Even the NS Pizzas seem to have some of the cheese melt off onto what I place under them when I heat them in the microwave.

Can I guess that You are not worried about the extra salt from the brining.
I haven't watched this yet, but a keto, all protein, KFC style fried chicken sounds interesting.

    Hi Valerie
I suspect that it is getting hard to find helo, let alone good help.

The weather forecast shows Alabama and Georgia getting plenty of rain whether it is needed or not. Then it moves up over my area.

You are not the only one that did Atkins and Keto in the past, toss in other diets including Weight Watchers

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday! Rainy 47 with an expected high of 53 and 70% chance of rain, except that it's 100% chance at our house.

First load of laundry is folded and ready to put away in a while. Second load (whites and towels) is in the dryer now so there's no rush on putting the rest away yet. J is still asleep.

Need to get yesterday's cat bowls cleaned up and feed the cats.

May, if not TOO wet out, get out to a grocery but don't have anything gone critical on that list.

Rainy days are great for naps!

Alcohol mostly cooks out, if cooked long enough, but it's the other complex flavors in wine or liquor that add richness to the dish. Grape juice, for example, just wouldn't be the same at all and doesn't even sound appetizing to me, in a stew or sauce for savory foods.

The cage for the sugar gliders has trays under the bottom to catch...stuff. The trays sit on additional metal bars, and I put aluminum foil on the back part of those bars, with the edges pulled out to somewhat block access to the back of the cage, where Oliver has been climbing up. He gets a leg up from the window ledge on that side and climbs up.

He doesn't like aluminum foil much and it also partially blocks his path. So far he hasn't got back up there but we'll see. If that doesn't work, we may wrap foil all the way around under the back, anchoring on the legs, and partway up the back.

    Good Morning!
I'm in hiding. 45-50 wet degrees last night, and I let Tom E. spend the night in the house. Other than one short crying burst outside my bedroom door, he was a good house guest. I have to face it, that very, very soon he'll be an indoor kitty...blah. Besides the hair, he's a pest. :):). Already this morning. So, while he was eating his breakfast and kibble, and not paying attention, I grabbed my banana, coffee, phone and computer and very quietly let myself into my front room. :) He hasn't figured out where I am, or he'd be out there talking to me. LOL!

The new OS Mojave has been out for awhile...Ted wanted to know why I hadn't downloaded it...etc. Jack uses it at work along with PC's...believe it or not, all forms of Apple, plus the more standard PC's, have different interfaces, and appearances, etc...so when he designs something for a client he had to coordinate all of the different options that the client, or their affiliates might be using when they access whatever program, advert, etc .....so, last night at Olivia's gymnastics he and I chatted about Mojave. Like me he wasn't very impressed with the 'dark mode', and like me, he's giving it time to see if his like/dislikes resolve themselves...He did say that dark mode on PC's was Much Better. Hmmmm. Get with it Apple!!!

My good news, I was nicely surprised to see yet another pound go....um, where do they go? LOL. So that's 10 total since April. I'll take it! And yes Roger, I've done it eating a ton of rice. A few colorful veggies and mostly 3 fruits a day..some day's I miss and only have two fruits. oh, well!!! Sorta easy but not absence of salt. No oil. No, not even Olive Oil...mushrooms several meals a week, and onions most days as part of my veggies, and to flavor the rice. I also use a bit of any enjoyable soup as a flavoring. And that's it. Oh, sugar....I've been known to fix myself a sweet rice desert a couple times a week! oops!! Yep, this is carb heaven! Carbohydrates are energy foods. Gotta keep your little mitochondria happy..its what fuels your whole body!
    So, there's that....
I think I get to go shopping in my closet...I was having trouble yesterday in the grocery keeping my jeans 'up' where they belonged because I had my cell phone in one pocket and my car keys in another...I don't want to try on a smaller size just yet....cuz I don't want to be disappointed if smaller jeans don't button. That's a bummer...

Rain has been steady but not hard stormy kind...you'd put on a rain coat to go to the mailbox....but you wouldn't drown or be blown away. :) I think this is supposed to end tonite. I sure hope so.

Ed, wish I has a solution for the kitty vs sugar gliders cage. I suppose moving the cage is out of the question, or you'd have already done it. Naps sound like the perfect solution for this day! Enjoy!

    Later...

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and No Money found. The Temperature out the door was 45 degrees and as comfortable as it could be with the rain that forecast for today, Saturday. Since it was only rain falling I decided to go walking, while walking the wind started blowing. I did see a pair of walking appetites eating the landscaping at one of the Churches here in town :(

    Hi Ed
All day Friday they kept revising the weather forecast, Only as to when the rain and wind would arrive. They kept moving it later and later during Friday, and the last one I saw mentioned arriving around Midnight Friday in Saturday, I suspect it slowed down even more based on what I saw out the window prior to walking and while walking, Or to put it another way despite the steady rain the Puddles were not to bad.

Grape juice in foods, pass

Tomorrow is the day my brother does the first or only grocery store run. Of course he always seems to go when the crowds are at their worst. I think I will pass on going or maybe not, I do need a thing or two OTOH the temptations there :(
