Howdy all y'all. It's thrillilg Thursday! It should be pretty warm today, with a small chance of rain. I woke up feeling old, if that is a thing. LOL. The headache didn't help, but I took some ibuprofen and finished off my chili for breakfast. Nothing critical on the agenda today. I might take a walk. A lot of people walked in my neighborhood yesterday. I didn't, but every time I was outside I saw people walking. I even had a conversation with one neighbor, though we stayed on different sides of the street.

Not sure if it's a good idea to go for a haircut, and surprised that the salon is open at all. Could be a good time to teach Ted how to cut hair!

Well, I DID get out for a walk, to kickstart my metabolism. I walked about a mile to Aldi, bought a few things that were guaranteed to get heavier on the way home, and walked home. It was the least busy I have EVER seen Aldi.

I got the carrots I have been wanting, two pounds, a half gallon of milk, about two pounds, some broccoli crowns, one pound. Those were the relatively heavy items, totaling about five pounds. Then there was frozen chopped spinach (did you know that March 26th is National Spinach Day?), ten ounces, croutons, five ounces, sliced pepperoni, six ounces, and bacon pieces, two and a half ounces. Total weight, including the lightweight plastic carrying bag, approximately seven and a half pounds.

But I am here to tell you that after carrying that seven and a half pounds for a mile, it weighed at least 25 pounds. LOL.

I guess I should start thinking about putting lunch together.

It was all well with hair cut. I used to cut Ted's hair and several other hight school kids we knew, (and knew parents of).. Ted cut MY hair...hohohohono! Jimmy's been part of my life since about 1980. We went to lab school together, then were sent together for out clinicals..(we were the 'lucky' ones who drew the state mental facility..it was appropriate, no??)..then we worked at the same hospital, different shifts...he left and ran an Allergists lab, etc. and he came to ATL. I visited a few times, as Jack was here after his education at Atl College of Art and Design. When the Red Cross went to around the clock testing they were having issues finding peeps to work the newly created Overnight shift. Jimmy called and 'invited' me to ATL.
Eventually he decided to follow his dream of Cosmetology, and...he's been doing my hair since abut 1990-ish. He had his own shop, but decided to sell it....but the thought of his little old (95 and 98 y.o.) clients having to find a new hairdresser was resting heavy on him..So, he is in a little shop, owned by someone else, and works 3 days a week. The shop is tiny, tiny...3 chairs..etc. You would have to 'work' to get 10 people in there, and as it stands in Avalon Estates ...10 or less people. turns out, I was his only client for the day.

Traffic was uber light from here to Decatur, and home. I was about the only client at my Chiro's office...though 2 others came in as I was leaving though. Dr Pat said she'd been busy with people staying home and cleaning, attic work, yard work, etc she was seeing patients!

And I came straight home...no point in needless possible exposure. Meanwhile both places are about to wipe them selves crazy with the Clorox/Lysol/etc wipes. All should be well.

I feel for you and that haul of 25# grocery items!!! Amazing how that happens, right? I suggested to Roger that he get a back pack, and he did, he'd had one, just didn't think to use it. Check your closets, J's, or a thrift store...heck! get yourself a brand spankin' new one. Will keep many pound off of your groceries as you walk!!!

Nap now, outside after...my Dark Sky weather app says mid 70's later this after...

    Stay healthy, happy, and safe!

Dinner tonight was NO DOUGH pizza. Very tasty. We did have to eat it with forks. The crust is made from cheeses and eggs.

A crust, after pre-baking, but before toppings.

    My pepperoni pizza, after baking.

    ckyd7435z1hs.png

    J's cheese pizza, after baking.

    4545ajm0fwd7.png

    The recipe I found online:

    NO DOUGH PIZZA

Gluten Free, Low Carb, Diabetic Friendly

For when you absolutely want pizza but not all the carbs

    Crust

1 (8 oz) package of full fat cream cheese, room temperature
    2 eggs
    1/4 tsp ground black pepper
    1 tsp garlic powder
    1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

    Topping
    1/2 cup pizza sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
toppings - pepperoni, ham, sausage, mushrooms, peppers
    Garlic powder

    Preheat oven to 350.

Lightly spray a 9×13 baking dish with cooking spray.

With a handheld mixer, mix cream cheese, eggs, pepper, garlic powder and parmesan cheese until combined.
Spread into baking dish. Bake for 12-15 minutes, our until golden brown.

Allow crust to cool for 10 minutes.

    Spread pizza sauce on crust.

    Top with cheese and toppings.
    Sprinkle pizza with garlic powder.

Bake 8-10 minutes, until cheese is melted.

I did have to adjust baking times, as things didn't cook in the short times given in the recipe.

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday! It is supposed to get hot today, with no chance of rain. I finished off last night's pizza for breakfast. It was good cold, about like any other good pizza in taste and cold texture. This recipe is definitely a keeper.

Nothing on the agenda. Maybe a walk later in the morning, before it gets too hot. But not into Aldi this time, maybe JUST a walk!

    Good Morning Ed,
Sunny and pleasant with a jacket now, 80's this afternoon! Now, that's my kinda weather!
Hope you are able to get out for a walk today. I went with Ted and Maya for an evening walk. Also used the )#&@% recumbent bike. I surely hope gyms can open fairly soon. (and I know they won't) Kids don't go back for a month. I'm sure parents everywhere are crying and gnashing their teeth.
Time for me to get moving.
Ted, woke my sleeping cat..who would do such a thing? LOL!! Then he left to take Maya for her walk. Tom went out, and will sit in the driveway probably till they come back. Crazy cat!

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! It should be another pretty hot one, with no chance of rain. I am a little low on a few items but think I can probably get past the weekend without having to go to the store. At this point I am trying to get into the new month when I get paid again. This is not because of the situation, but is relatively normal for me near the end of a month. LOL. I usually don't actually desperately NEED anything but I get a little anxious when more than one item goes below my "will this last a week or two" estimation.

Not that I need any reason to get anxiety - my general anxiety disorder will come up with plenty of non-reasons ...but sometimes, more so lately, I need an Ativan to get by when the anxiety levels exceed the barrier created by my daily Wellbutrin extended release.

I think of the Wellbutrin as my daily "let's not go bats*** crazy today" pill and the Ativan as my "Don't Panic" pill, not daily, but as needed, which can be several times a day if it's a bad day, or I can go several weeks without taking any Ativan at all.

Sometimes just knowing I have the Ativan, if I need it, is enough, along with some deep breaths and meditation. Sometimes I actually have to take it. Probably about time to get a new prescription on that...should have got one while I was in his office on St. Patrick's day. Oh well. They can call or fax one in.

I don't think there is much on the agenda today.

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! A little cooler today, with 20% chance of a stray shower or thunderstorm. Those darn strays! Someone ought to catch and neuter!

Breakfast was steel cut oatmeal with blueberries and cream, and some bacon on the side.

We have two wild dogwood volunteers in our yard that the neighborhood birds must have gifted us with. Both happened to come up in places we found acceptable, so we let them grow. This year they are blooming. One has a fairly normal sized bloom and the other seems to have quite a tiny one.

And now Edweirdo...I mean Eduardo...has got the Boeuf Bourguignon, of sorts, going in a slow cooker. Dinner in 8 hours or so!

    Good Morning Ed,
I'm here earlier than usual...meaning you're out there gathering video's, etc.. I got so bored yesterday that I actually watched UTube video's.
So today I made a list of intentions.... to be used along with common ordinary/everyday chores. Hopefully that will help organize my day. TOMORROW this 'elder', goes grocery shopping!
Meanwhile, Ted has to go to a pet place and get meds for Maya...and he's getting $20 worth of cat food for dear ole Tom E.
Speaking of which...do your cats sleep together, or in pet beds, etc...Tom scarred Ted this morning, Tom was not on the couch as usual...nor in his bed under my weight bench, and Ted said his immediate thought was 'Oh no! Did she forget and leave Tom E. outdoors all night', and about then Tom E 'appeared' from sleeping on a dining room chair! He's changed his sleeping spot yet again! Is that 'normal' or could it be a throw back to 'ferrel' cat survival?? Just curious.

Your dinner of Boeuf Bourguignon looks amazing! Hope you enjoyed it, and have some leftovers for a second or even third meal.
I've messed up, and have cooked 'for the moment' instead of enough for leftovers. So, my refrigerator 'looks' bare..but it is not. Freezer and pantries are 'full' of amazing stuff. That said there are already 10 items on my shopping list for tomorrow! And I need to contact Costco pharmacy about med. refills. We're being told to keep 30 day supply, and I don't have that. Not exactly worried, except for my thyroid med. Those I will not fair well if I am without. Little Doc said when I asked, that missing a day would be 'ok', but after 2 missed doses, I would be 'in trouble'.

Outside I see clear and very blue skies, I see white fluffy clouds, and dim sunshine. Have you noticed how very blue the sky is these last 5-7 days??? Also at night..can see many more stars...Looks like the sky looked after 911. Lots less gunk (tech. term) in the air with the reduced air travel, is my best guess. (guessing is another Tech. Term) reserved for Weather Forecasters....and the list goes on.....

Have a great day, be Happy, Healthy, and stay safe.

Howdy all y'all. It's magnificent Monday! It should be fairly warm with zero chance of rain. I have given Lilo her Monday fluid treatment. That went very smoothly today. I need to call the vet to order her next bag of fluid though, as she only has two doses left in the current bag.

The Boeuf Bourguignon was the best I have ever made! I had some more for breakfast, and have enough left for another meal.

Well, let me get that call in to the vet so I can set that up...

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! Cool today, with near 100% chance of rain. I do need to pick up Lilo's next bag of fluid, but can wait until tomorrow if need be. There are a few grocery items I could stand to get as well, but nothing critical. And I would like to wait and see if the doctor has called in my prescription and combine that with any grocery run I make.

So nothing major on the agenda today. Laundry to be folded. I have given Lilo her Tuesday shot.

Well, I did get out just to get Lilo's fluid, even though I have enough to get through Friday. They had to come out to my car twice though, as the first time they brought ONLY the fluid, and had to be reminded that I also needed the plastic tubing kit and some needles, in order to be able to administer the fluid treatments.

Rain was threatening, so I came on home, though I did think about stopping to see if the auto parts store was open as my van picked today to run out of wiper fluid.

But hey, at least it wasn't low on blinker fluid! A lot of people seem to be permanently out of that. LOL!

    GardenKatGardens Posts: 2,496 Member
Blinker Fluid! That is priceless! And it must be in shorter supply than even Toilet Paper!
I did get out this morning.
    Hi ED!!!
Where did I leave off?? Oh yeah, I was at Publix at 7:10. Just missed being greeted by store manger. He went in as I was parking...but that's ok.
I got everything on my list and a couple extra things, as usual. One obvious thing that I noticed..most of my fellow shoppers were male. There may have been 3 other women in the store. I found that sorta ODD!
And today the store bakery, the ladies cutting up fruit and greens for the various instore salads, and Customer Service. I got my lottery quick picks. I didn't get them last week. Pity. LOL!!

I just had 3 little taco's of my own making, and so I ate an equal number of Fig Newtons. (that was one of my 'extra's.) Ted's fault...he came home Friday with 'fruit bars'. Said there weren't any fig bars that day. I'd forgotten how much I liked those little devils.

It has rained here, and will rain again soon. Then we should be over the falling stuff til at least Saturday! It was a bit chilly out this morning! Funny how quickly I adjusted to 70+ degree weather!

Ok, I saw the pix of your two 'twitter delivered' dogwood trees. I have one, hasn't bloomed yet...and its been 3 years. In all fairness I did move it when it was only about 12 inches tall, but I also was told in Gardening class that not all wild dogwood will bloom. Each year I'm hopefull, and then disappointed. One more year, and then It comes out, and I think a Kousa Dogwood will replace it. They bloom a little later than the wild ones, and in the fall the fruit is edible! Sweet mango-sweet potato flavor. (yep, that's what I read.)

!5 minutes til Jack calls, so I need to get a glass of water, etc.

I liked the Aunty Acid about being 'safe' at home. We should plaster that on every car windshield. And then we'd get a free pass to jail card, right??? LOL!

For dinner tonight, Eduardo compromised a little, because I overslept my nap. I had intended to make some home made flat dumplings, but by the time I awoke, it was already nearly six!

So even though there was already sauvignon blanc in the broth, I poured in about half a cup of Marsala, and then added the peas, so they could cook while I was deboning and de-skinning the chicken. After putting that back in, I added a good, large handful of spaetzle noodles, and a small amount of corn starch slurry to slightly thicken the broth.

And dinner, for me, was served. A one pot meal, with an appropriately named Tuesday Night White sauvignon blanc.

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! It should be a fine, cool day here in Peachtree Corners, GA. And no chance of rain. I might slip out to a Kroger store, or maybe Ingles, which is closer, for a few grocery items that are low or depleted. It IS a nice day for it and I could do it without dodging showers.

I can also, now that it's the first of the month and my pension has dropped into my account, order some grocery items from Amazon, that I can't get locally.

Not a lot else on the agenda today.

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! It's another fairly cool one, with no chance of rain. I probably should make a run for cat food and kitty litter today, but don't really want to. Doesn't mean I won't, but just that I really don't want to get out again so soon.

I finished off my chicken soup for breakfast. I am no sure what lunch will be but am pondering something Tex-Mex in style. And maybe take a cooking break for dinner and pull out some frozen pizza, though the pizza could wait until tomorrow...and I could make some slow cooked pasta e fagioli instead. We'll see how I feel about that around lunchtime. :)

    Good Morning Ed
Hope you are well and can't wait to see what's for dinner tonite at your house. Love it...'will wait to see how I feel at lunch'! Good call.
This is gonna be short, hopefully sweet??? My toilet needs to have the 'guts' replaced, as water is not flowing into the toilet after the flapper releases the water from the holding tank. Ted and I are having a major disagreement over this. Sometimes my intelligent son is more stubborn than ANY Missouri mule and will not listen. His assessment...'.its not getting water from the supply line'. God help me! And the world can be glad he's not a plumber.

But, the reason I started this is out of concern for Mike T. He is not taking this CoVid-19 and its restrictions well at all. The past two days his only concerns are what he CANNOT do. Right down to not using film to take photos. I hope he finds some help soon. Hopefully his sister can talk him thru this.

Hope you have a good day, and can get out for a walk or putter in your flower gardens, etc. This morning is quite chilly, (as tomorrow will also be) , but the sun is shining and it will warm up.

Well, I got the pets covered as far as food and kitty litter now. I decided, while out, to quickly peruse Target and Publix, since they are in the same connected parking lot as PetSmart, on the other wing, and both have automatic doors so I could just cruise through to take a quick look.

Target had small amounts of both toilet paper and paper towels. I sailed on out and did the same flyby through Publix, where I saw no toilet paper, but there were some paper towels. There were still restrictions on how many a person could buy, but the fact that they were available at all gives, perhaps, some hope that at least some portion of the craziness at the stores may be ending as all the hoarders run out of storage space.

Then I went on to PetSmart, and, $218.81 later, came home with enough canned food and kibble, and kitty litter, to get us through the month and then some, as I was low on all of it. With four cats, two of them on different, expensive prescription food, it ain't cheap. I also got some meal worms for the sugar gliders.

After making vegetarian Frito nachos for our lunch, my Amazon order arrived, and I took a nap a couple of hours after lunch. I still need some things that I normally get via Amazon but they are not currently allowing some "non-essential" items to be stored in their warehouses by third party vendors so I may have to see if I can get those direct from the manufacturers, if they are still open for business.

I decided it would be a great night to pull frozen pizza from the oven, so dinner will be easy.
