    Good morning!!

Roger, you are right! 40-some and 50 degrees is cold, lol. :D It has just been so long since we had that, I can't remember. We had too mild a winter last year. That is not too far from freezing. We always had a snow flurry around Halloween in "the olden days" in Ohio when I was growing up!

The poor dogs are just starting to feel better from their one day left in boarding. I have to take them tomorrow afternoon for our trip. I am the cartoon heel.... :/
    Hi Jan
I can not recall any Snow for Halloween.
Hopefully the Dogs can handle it.
I am envisioning someone watching sports and changing channels in the middle of something important due to their hand gestures, if you follow my drift...ha ha!! Interesting on the blood donors. I can not give blood anymore. The time I was in Europe was during the mad cow disease problems in England. Because some of the commissaries bought meat from Europe and England in addition to the US, I can not donate in case I was infected, as there is no way to test for it being such a long term disease with long term gestation. Bummer..... :| The public domain books were interesting. While I have heard of it, I did not hear of that formatting...
That could cause some irate viewers.

I did not know it could linger like that, I thought it happened and not with a delay.
Hope you are feeling 100% now. Especially with the change of weather!

Val, I just love that puppy!! I am so impressed you integrating your dogs all the time. It has taken 2 years for May May to learn to go around Chester and not bowl him over, lol! I hope the teacher meeting goes well. :s Too bad Em can not switch teachers. I agree with Roger about teachers like that...how unfortunate... and what a bummer dealing with her when you are sick. I hope you can get a little rest and start to feel better soon...

I don't think I am taking my computer or I-pad to Europe, so I will probably not check in for about a week. I will lose my days logging in, but as I have gained back some of the weight, maybe starting over would not be so bad. Possibly if I have time, I could get my daughter in law to log me in, but not sure it is worth the trouble... :#

Hope everyone takes care!! I am doing my oil change and maintenance (for the car, Roger, lol, :D ) this afternoon. More running!! ..Jan B)
I am feeling OK, I was feeling the effects of the Chinese Take Out I had yesterday. Today I need to get back at 100% NS :)

Nothing wrong with keeping the days running, OTOH if it is not you doing it ??

Have a Good Vacation if You do not get back on.

Hi. I miss cold...I barely recall the feeling. Good news! Puppy Cooper is improving. Starting to add puppy kibble to my homemade turkey and rice. This is a different teacher than last year...high school is separate campus. But the principal from middle school is now here (which was good for proof that I don’t whine just because). I made notes to organize my thoughts but accidentally left them home. At 7:30 am, i was at school and requested meeting with principal, that teacher and the 504 (hearing impairment counselor). I did well...I didn’t say anything i regret. She actually admitted to some of the things i said she said...and the principal dropped his head and then whispered to her...you can’t say that to the children. It was a VERY long day w multiple email and calls with many employees. Here’s the miracle...it helped! I have not seen Em this relaxed and happy about school this year! The 504 ladies met with her and talked about how yo approach an online college course...find the syllabus, print it, mark dates on her planner, etc. she finally felt like someone heard her concerns. At work i did huge and amazing things including identifying a critical loophole in a website that would have violated multiple laws. The IT guy and corporate lawyers were appreciative and requested me to stay involved to identify the best fix. Another department requested my support 1/2 time, that will be a big change...a little scared, but we’ll see. I mowed my backyard! And feel like things are in order...which is a nice feeling.

    Hi Val
If I said You should not feel bad missing the cold.

Congratulations on a successful meeting. Hopefully that teacher has learned something from it.

It does sound as if the meeting was a huge success.

That is the way to make Yourself important for the long run.
    Congratulations

Jan- Have an awesome and safe vacation!!!! Roger- enjoy your warm day. I lived in Ohio for 8 years and Indiana for 4 years, so i do remember. Texas winters are extremely convenient with no snow shoveling or bundling up needed. But the heat is tiresome. Puppy Cooper appears healthy...energy and appetite are in full swing! Have a super day!

    Good morning !

Just chilling Thurs. morning with the pups before they go in to boarding. It is warm here too, but the nite was quite pleasant and cool!

Val, so excited about the school meeting and also your work!! Sounds like you had a miraculous day! I just love days like that!! Glad Charlie is doing better too. He looks like such a sweetheart! Active, but sweet, lol!

I am feeling a little worse for wear myself. I had too many carbs yesterday, and always feel it the next day too. So much for going to France feeling healthier! I will probably do better there, lol! I keep thinking I have forgotten something important, lol!!

Take care all. I expect you all to be good till I get back!! It appears I may miss the hurricane, I hope we are not on a tornado side with me being gone. We need the rain, though. I kind of like them inland here, but hope there is no damage. Leave it to me to miss one, lol... :# Hopefully I can catch the BBC in France! Will miss the articles and typing to you all! ..Jan :)

    Hi Val
Nate did not hold onto it's hurricane status very long once it made landfall, luckily.

I Know I would not have wanted to be on that plane for that landing. Not to mention it is one of the largest flying passengers.

I know I was not happy this morning when I got on the scale, I had expected to be down from Yesterday and instead I was up a pound in one day. It has to be water retention from something I ate, at a guess the one home made Manicotti with ground beef mixed into the Ricotta Cheese.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manicotti
My brother made them using left over pasta, Ground beef and Cheese from the Lasagna he made Saturday. The Lasagna fortunately is scheduled to be Vacuum sealed into portions and frozen.

    Good Luck with Your Mojo

Hi Riger-the temps up there really jumped back up. We’re still at 90 degrees. I enjoyed today...I authentically like spending time w my 14 yo. We went to lunch, then grocery shopping. Simple but we had fun. When we got home, she was spouting off tons of information about Hamilton, Jefferson, and Burr...with actual comprehension of why each did what they did. I was enthralled. When i was in school, history was my least favorite subject...I don’t remember ever hearing WHY...just dates and events..and I didn’t get it. I sat and asked her questions and she was awesome. Lots of fun with the puppy.

    Hi
I went walking this Morning, The temperature this morning was 68 degrees on the porch and 69 degrees on the cable channel and is now up to 71 degrees in the back yard. The Humidity is still up, And is now described as in the oppressive range and was also described as Tropical on last nights weather forecast :(

I had a 1 by 3 inch slice of the homemade Lasagna yesterday and it was delicious. My Brother used Ricotta cheese, Some Grated cheese, lots of Hamburger and Mozzarella Cheese. He also took a shortcut and used No Cook pasta which also avoided the problem of cooking the pasta or breakage. Then since he had plenty of Ricotta and some of the sheets of pasta left over from the Lasagna to make Manicotti.

    Hi All!
Caught up on some of the readings - but SO tuckered out!! I hurt everywhere, even where it did not know I had nerve endings. The Louvre stairs killed me, as did the 9 hour plane ride home, plus an extra hour waiting to take off due to a passenger who did not make a flight. The investigating had them removing the luggage. Trip was awesome, so I will catch you up on Weds when I write. Going to sleep and sleep and sleep, lol....... :)

Hi. So glad you had a good vacation Jan! Roger-i understand how much humidity effects comfort. I spent four hours at the emergency vet—Oscar, my very favorite dog is extremely ill. He’s sick like Cooper (puppy) was last week. They wanted to spend $1,500 in diagnostics with zero treatment. I love him dearly but he’s 11 years and for his size, avg life is 10 years. I asked for just supportive treatment. I’ve spent the 3 hours since we got home, just loving him. He doesn’t appear in pain. He has no interest in food. Take care. Val
