    I just posted more humor

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and No Money found. The Temperature out the door was 63 degrees and comfortable.
When I left the house on my block I saw a Deer at the end of the street and on the second block of my walk I saw what looked like a Ground Hog crossing the road.

We hit in the 80s Wednesday with rain and a Thunderstorm in the Evening. The rain did not last for a long time, It became heavy for a few minutes before tapering off. It was still 78 degrees when I retired for the evening, The Cold Front that was forecast as the reason for the T-Storms must have come in with a vengeance given the overnight drop in temperatures of 15 degrees.

Four years ago, i was on a committee that established a process. I’ve been following it religiously but others don’t. Last week they changed the process...and that prompted my email warning. I need medical insurance so I’ll keep this gig until they lay me off. But...I’m proactively contacting other departments who may be interested in my support. So far so good. Also—The hospital that gave me the infection that led to sepsis has agreed to absorb the remainder of the bill...a huge relief for me!!! And tomorrow i get all six puppies...not just two. LOL!!!🤪
    Hi Val
Interesting that You have that responsible a position. I understand the wanting to keep Medical Insurance, I was very happy when I became able to get Medicare

Congratulations on getting the hospital to take responsibility.

Six Puppies, It sounds as if You will be busy. Enjoy

    Have a Good Day

    Good morning,

I had my CT yesterday and it went quite well. Checking in was funny (?) as my insurance info was not right. I had just checked in there 2 weeks ago or so on their fancy computerized check in system. Also who ever called me info about the test made it seem like the CT and lab were all at the same place, as there is a lab just one glass window next to the CT window. Imagine my surprise when no one knew what I was talking about twice, I am assuming now the lab was at my Dr.'s office. That would have been a good thing to mention, and they didn't. I was just mentally beat when I did get home and accomplished very little else, lol..

Just catching up today. It is getting cloudy and fall looking outside. Of course it is in the eighties so outside you do not get that feeling. Good rains expected this week and we need them!
    Hi Jan
The CT went well or they had results already that were good. When I had one, a half hour later they had the results. I hope all is well.
Hopefully from now on it will be easy for You. Twice they did not know what is weird.

Computers are only as good as the operator. I never asked but I have a suspicion that going back to the 80s our nearby hospital is able to pull up my records.

Yesterday was humid and in the 80s, Overnight following the cold front passing through it is so much better outside with what feels like a low humidity.
Finally played ball with May after 4 days of being away or too tired. Now she is tired, lol... :#

Glad the dryer got straightened away. And great improvement on your chimney/furnace connection! Don't you love it when things work out.

Interesting about your wild pear tree too! I hated when NS got rid of something I liked, or I did order something I turned out not to like. Did not happen too often...but disappointing none the less..

Val, things sound a little better work wise even if crazy and unpredictable. Hoping for the best....And puppies, nothing wrong there, lol..Give them smoochies for me!! ...Jan
I bet May missed You doing that too.

I now feel like it will be safe to use the furnace.

Two days in a row the smoke detectors started chirping, one each day so I changed the batteries and while I was at it I also changed the batteries in the CO2 detector. One benefit of buying Duracells in bulk at CostCo.

I have also ordered foods I did not like, The last one being 3 of the NS Spicy garlic Chicken, I had hoped they would be OK as they are low calorie and low carb Dinner Entrees, Nope way hot. I have eaten them however since I paid for them, Call me Cheap, Call me Frugal  I took a chance as the Chipotle Black bean Bowl was OK and tasty.

    Have a Nice Day

I’ve been up since 2am. For 2 pups, I was planning to contain them in the master bath when unattended. But for 6 pups, I decided to rearrange the living room! I moved all the furniture, washed the floors, moved the furniture a few more times. Now their space is next to the back door so it should be relatively easy to take them to the yard. Unfortunately it’s supposed to rain, and they can’t get wet for 10 days (spay/neuter today). But it will be exciting! I felt badly for Oscar. His vision is poor and I kept moving the furniture. At one point, he just held his toy duck and cried a little. Then I showed him the path and he was okay again. I made the most yummy Greek salad yesterday...with lettuce, red bell pepper, roasted chickpeas, feta, and calamata olives! I think I have enough of everything to make that again today!

    Hello!

Big thunderstorms this morning, and raining all day. It is actually rather nice. Cozy to stay at home and not get my work done..out or at the house! :#

Val, you are going to be tired tonite!! Poor Oscar, glad you were able to reassure him! Your salad sounds really good! I would not mind having that again either!!

Roger, that is the first possible groundhog sighting I think you have written about. That was pretty cool!! Wish I lived in a similar neighborhood. Though my neighbors very large white and fluffy goat got out this morning again..Gave May something to really bark about!! :)

No news on CT yet...I should do some errands tomorrow also...

Interesting about paying more taxes than spending on food and clothes. I am sure I am close, mostly because of food prices.. I do pay a little less tax than they quoted, but considering my income, I feel I am taxed too much...

Stay dry all!! Glad for humor!! ...Jan

And Yet more humor is posted, Four of them Bob the Crayfish since the share a theme

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and No Money found. The Temperature out the door was 62 degrees and at the time I left for my walk the rain was coming down hard enough to make a Hissing sound. Three Blocks from home I saw something crossing and then walking up the road, upon getting closer I saw the Black Fur with the White Stripe down the back so I stayed clear. The Rain slowed down as I was walking and despite the Rain Gear It was not uncomfortable walking and since I wore the oldest set of walking gear that I keep for days like today.

    Hello Val
Is the Living room floor hardwood or tile ? I am guessing not a rug with dogs in the house.

Poor Oscar :( I suspect that people with poor vision have the same problem when things are moved, even more so Blind people and Pets.

I would not have thought that a ten day moratorium on getting wet, Any cuts or scratches I get are healed up or scabbed over so that I do not worry about showering the next day. Stitches or staples I might take a extra day.

Greek Salad, Oil based dressing with the Calamata Olives for the vinegar taste ?

Seven, at first glance I said to myself I though She mentioned Six, then I read a little further

Good Luck with the fostering, at a minimum it should make it easier for You for the weekend.

    Hi Jan
Think of it as a stay at home vacation or as they are calling a staycation, a word my brother and I both dislike.

I suppose it could also have been a Skunk as it stayed in the dark until out of sight, if it was not for the motion drawing my gaze I would have missed it. There are Skunks in the neighborhood, I can smell them inside when they use our driveway a a path through the yard and one year I saw a mother and several small ones on the front lawn. On occasion I have seen Possum and Foxes over the years too. For a built up Suburb we seem to have a lot of so called wildlife that has adapted to it.

I thought of that paying more in taxes was just disgusting as well as being interesting :(
I think it is a extremely rare individual that think they should pay more taxes

    Enjoy today humor

I skipped the oil and just splashed apple cider vinegar for the dressing. Feta and calamata olives add the tang that i love. Yes...entire house has tile floors...with my kids and dogs, carpet would never work. One pup got adopted today so now I’m down to 10 canines...40 paws! Some folks are coming over this evening to see the puppies.

    Happy week end!!

Val, those pictures of the puppies are just as cute as can be!! They are adorable. I could take them all if I could afford to, and they would get along, lol...I am getting too old though..I know it. Even May has some minor adjustments though still spoiled!

Good thinking on avoiding the skunk! They are cute, but deadly. :* For as much woods as we have, we sure do not see as much wildlife as I would think. We are still kinda country. I bet the mama and baby skunks were cute, from a distance, lol!

I am not fond of some of these new made up words either! :s

Terrible about San Fran terminal. I would think the builders would have to absorb that loss and fix correctly. San Fran, if it were not for bad luck, they would have none at all!

I have heard cases of the brain leaking fluid like that. Scary scenario!

I was at the Dr today getting my lab drawn the same time they were calling me at home, probably about the CT. Our paths did not cross, and I did not get a call back yet. Must not be too serious....maybe Monday I will hear!

Have a great week end! have fun! Get rest!! :) ...Jan

    Hi Val
The main problem for me that the oil and vinegar dressing tends to separate.

Tile should be a easy clean as would be the waterproof tiles they sell these days.

    Hi Jan
The Builders might end up being held accountable, However I suspect it would be a long drawn out process punctuated by appeals and maybe even the builder going bankrupt.

My brother hates many of the new words, I am somewhat more flexible OTOH.

Your lab sounds as if the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing :(

From what I read the main problem with that leakage is that it opens a pathway for an infection to happen. It also sounded to me as if the doctors dropped the ball diagnosing what was wrong.

Good Luck with the CT results

I’ve had a great and busy and healthy day! More than 10k steps. Started a 5am. Took 10 dogs to backyard to potty then inside for breakfast. Put the puppies outside while I washed the living room floor; then let tgem back in. Showered. Took Spike to my vet (not the nasty guys). Got his pre anesthesia blood test. Teeth cleaning next Friday. Then took him home. Went grocery shopping. Then Em and I went to Maggie’s (Grumpy Puppy Rescue President). We tested the new snow cone machine we bought as a fundraiser for the a Rescue. Yum. Then rearrange ld and cleaned the shed where the puppies used to live. Then home. One lady picked up two puppies just to foster. Another lady picked up two puppies...she wants to adopt both...unsure if hubby will agree. So I’m down to ky four plus two pups! Had my salad for breakfast; spaghetti for lunch; and Collard greens and mashed taters for dinner. Somewhere in there i did laundry and dishes and raked and edged the front yard. 😁

    Hi!

Val, you are doing so great! What a day you had!!

Wish we had your weather, Roger. Lots of thunderstorms and maybe a little less hot as the sun goes down. Very humid!

Did well on keto at church. Just did dishes(wash and dry) as I bypassed about 40 luscious casseroles and 40 desserts and just tables of stuff. We were celebrating 20 years in the new location. My small group are supportive of me eating no carbs,( except for my green beans!- I can have that!!)... :) We shall see!!

    Hang in there!! ...Jan

I'm back home from walking and No Money found. The Temperature out the door was 58 degrees at the time I left for my walk. I did see one Deer, They are so unafraid that I can usually get within 50 feet before they move and even then they only move a little way.

I was afraid that I might have damaged my Diet yesterday with the 0.6 pounds of Spare Ribs on top of my regular meals, However I was down this morning so Whee ! The Spare Ribs had a sprinkling of some dry topping, however they tasted like Roast Pork and were so tender that the meat fell off the bones cleanly and I did enjoy them. I did not weigh the bones to see what the net weight of the Pork was.

Almost all dogs need anesthesia for teeth cleaning. My salad included chickpeas and feta; the spaghetti had turkey. I hope that story about fining robo callers is true...so annoying!
    Hi Val
I have heard that some people need it for teeth cleaning too, I never have although I will say it is hard holding my mouth open that long

I like both of those, The Chick Peas AKA Garbanzo beans and the Feta Cheese. The Diner used to put Feta in their salads and then it stopped :(

Turkey Chunks or as a Turkey Meatball ? My preference would be as Meatballs

I have seen that happening several times lately, They can of course only do it to operations in the USA. I call it true, It seems to be working somewhat as far as I can tell, Knock Wood
Beyond annoying, I hate them disturbing me even though my brother and I both do not answer numbers we do not recognize.

    Have a Good Day

    Hang in there!! ...Jan
    Hi Jan
The weather finally turned better, Whee !

    Good Casseroles and Deserts, hmm...
You did better than I would have at a guess.
Green Beans should be OK unless they were baked into a casserole with a Bread Crumb Topping

The spaghetti was prepared by my friend’s hubby. It was ground turkey (like you’d make taco meat) with tangy sauce. Yesterday (Sunday) I worked 10 hours. I finally caught up with some changes from a couple weeks ago. The puppies are darling. We have one adoption app in for Lexi. Doing a home check Wednesday. Sunday we have an adoption event. It will be busy! We’ll have 5 puppies, their mom, another adult dog, and a snow cone booth. Hoping for nice weather.

FWIW I just posted more humor

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and No Money found. The Temperature out the door was 63 degrees at the time I left for my walk.

I am seeing more Halloween Decorations while walking, that started on the 29th of Sept.
I think I'll put the lighted Cat and the Lighted Bat in the Living room window today.

Be Alert, We need more Lerts

Frightened and hurt, the man called the police to report he'd been knocked down by an unknown assailant outside his back door. The policeman who went to investigate soon returned with a huge bump on his forehead.
"I solved the case," he reported.
"That's quick work. What did you find?"
"I stepped on the rake, too."
    I never tried this, hmm...

    Hi Val
For me Taco meat would be Ground Beef, not Turkey, in most cases Turkey has to be handled carefully or it can be dry. Simmering it in Tomato Gravy should help with that.

Worked on the Job ? If so yuck.

Good Luck with the Adoption event and the Weather

    Good morning!

Val, those pictures of the puppies are again so cute! Hope all goes well too at the adoption event and walk thru. Sounds like you have your hands full, luckily with cuteness!! :) Your meal sounded really good!

Envy you your nicer weather,Roger. Sounds wonderful! Summer is hanging in here. Makes fall difficult, lol!

I was visiting a friend in a town about 1/2 hour from here. I had a pile to do and was tired from the week end. She had called and we talked about an hour before we made plans on the time to meet. So did not get anything done besides getting ready to go, lol...We ate Chinese and I did well. No fried anything, rice, or noodles. Just some meat, broccoli, chicken skewers and ribs, somewhat blotted because of the marinade or glaze. Jenny said I was brave, eating keto at a Chinese place! :D I did not get home till after dark, something I rarely do as I do not like driving a distance in the dark anymore. Better than expected...I only had trouble seeing about a mile from home where they neglect keeping the roads painted well. or at all, lol!

I even forgot to check in one day on the site here as I finally made it, but it was after midnite. back to day one...

    Interesting articles..still catching up.

This week is wild too. Supper out today,, a birthday lunch for friend on Weds. and a dinner at Faulkner U. on Thursday where someone was kind enough to donate from my small group and we got $165.00 a plate tickets. Free for us. The speaker is Tony Blair, ex prime minister of England. LOL, I am not posh..need to find something to wear!

Hope all goes well for all this week! :) Jan

Lest I forget, New Jersey has raised the Motor Fuel tax by another 4.3 cents Monday morning for a second increase in two years :(
Gas tax collections have fallen behind for two years now, precipitating Gov. Phil Murphy's administration to announce Thursday that it is raising the motor fuel tax 4.3 cents, bringing state taxes on a gallon of gasoline sold in New Jersey to 41.4 cents -- the ninth-highest of any state.
This follows a whopping 23-cent-per-gallon increase passed by the state Legislature and signed into law by then-Gov. Chris Christie in 2016.
