    Good morning!!

So sorry about your knee! I can really sympathize about going down like that. Probably wise to rest a few days! Very glad it resulted in nothing more!

Okay, I have to say, I have never had anyone add butter to Chinese, lol...I could not help but get tickled, and I know I shouldn't as I have eaten out of control and it is no fun thing...later as you regret it!! Usually I get to the have to have deli bread with my butter stage, lol..Just get on your NS week again!! You do well with that!! Those holidays will be upon us soon, so you want to be down, weight wise!! :)

I almost got a lean cuisine turkey dinner. Still may, lol! You are right, my typo was supposed to actually be mashed potatoes, not masked!! :D Who knew there was a masked potato?

It is so damp here everyone is growing mushrooms. Unintentionally. Very weird. Our rain never materialized yet, and we need some. One minute it looked like it was coming, the next it was gone. Though the area was large it must have been very light to disappear like that, in the space of like an hour...We may get some thunderstorms later in the day, but boy was that 70% and 60% forecast wrong. Our weather people usually do much better. Weather seems to often disappear as it crosses the Miss. / Al line. That accounts for the lush greenery in West Al. as opposed to us!

Take care of those knees! Take it easy and rest!! :# ...Jan

OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (AP) — One Mississippi high school senior had to quickly discard her crown after being named homecoming queen — and put on a football helmet.
Kaylee Foster was crowned homecoming queen of Ocean Springs High School before Friday night's football game.

Foster kicked two field goals earlier, giving her a majority of the team's points.

    Hi Jan
Everything tastes better with Butter or Bacon  Baked Squash or Potatoes, Mashed or baked get butter and the potatoes if gravy is available they get that after the butter is melting in

I used up the last of the free Shelf Stable Turkey and Dressing yesterday and it was OK, The Gravy makes it, The Sliced Turkey Roll is tender, just not what I expect in a meal. The NS Frozen Turkey Medallions and Mashed Potatoes are better. You likely will find this strange but what I do is cut up the Turkey, Scoop a piece of it with some gravy and then scoop some Mashed Potatoes into the spoon and enjoy it that way.

I had not thought about the Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Holiday coming up yet, Oh Oh !
I did not know that there were Masked Potatoes until I checked Via Google.

I also Like a Potato Sandwich using Buttered Bread, I have weird taste buds don't I.

he Knee feels OK and probably I shall resume walking tomorrow. It does not take long to get out of shape. The worst pain now is the sore arm from the Tetanus shot since I could not remember when the last one was, Likely it was before Superstorm Sandy. I plan to get to the Drug Store for a Flu Shot in the near future, Likely the next time my brother will be out of the driveway for a while and I can get the car out, I plan to also go to the bank and fill the car at that time. This will be the third time I put gas in the car this year. I do not put many miles on as You can see.

I see mushrooms growing all over too, in Mulch and even in the grass. I wish the Grass in the yard would slow down it's growth :(

Have a Good and Dry Day

    Hi
I'm back home from walking no cents. The Temperature out the door was 72 degrees, It is dry outside. However the Humidity is high and can be seen as a haze in the air or maybe a light fog. Either way it was no fun walking.
While I was walking I did see two Deer run across the road 2.5 blocks from the house on the outbound leg.
I Did remove the rock I had tripped over, I suspect that I did not see it when it was wet from the rain as it was a black rock on dark ground and likely blended in with the low light from that nearby parking lot not illuminating it well.

    Hi Val
That is a good thing since vegetables are good for You. Yesterday between my picking and my brothers picking I had fresh grown Green Beans with my meals along with four carrots I pulled. There are enough beans in the refrigerator for 3 or four more meals too. Those are all from one set of climbing beans that are growing all over a circular wire cage, Free is a good price and that lets me skip a trip to CostCo for more Frozen vegetable until at least sometime next week.

    Ice Cream
The Good Stuff or that ersatz stuff that is sold as Ice Cream I had some of it that was left on the counter in the past and it really never melted, What was I eating ? I prefer mine to have little air added and be a nice dense all natural ingredients Ice Cream FWIW.

7PM and lawyers still calling, Yuck.
If I said having my teeth cleaned is very low on the list of things I want to do...

Before I forget, Cute Puppies, they should be an easy placement unless You keep one or more.

Good Luck at work and the Dentist

    Hi Jan
I also Like a Steak or Roast Prime Rib, I take the bite and put one of these with it, Onion Rings, Bacon or Sauteed Onions and of course some salt

If I said China, Land of polluted air so bad that some areas there are or at least were air bars where a person could go in and have clean air.

I'm sorry to hear that You will need to repeat in 6 months, especially for that reason. Better that ignoring it and crossing Your fingers OTOH.

I'm thinking it was muggy enough this morning that I should have had a Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi with lots of ice instead of Coffee. It seems OK outside for a couple of blocks then the humidity started to be felt.

I had not heard that about a city in England

More humor is about to be posted :)

    Hi
I'm back home from walking no cents. The Temperature out the door was 71 degrees. The Humidity is high and there was a light drizzle out the door that ended while walking, It was no fun walking. The rain came in Wednesday afternoon and I could hear rain drops hitting the AC overnight up to at least 3AM as that was the last time I woke up, I suspect the drizzle was leftover rain so it likely continued after 3AM. I did see one Deer run out of a side street, across the road ahead of me and continue down the side road after crossing the main road, a few seconds later a car came out of that side road likely why the Deer was running.

Wednesday, Despite the Humidity I put on long pants and mowed the Yard. Why the Long pants ? To protect my legs from the whatever they are that bite and leave a itchy mark. I also Picked and consumed a bunch of Raspberries, Some had ripened too much since my last picking :(

For starters, the FDIC estimates that 7% of the U.S. population is still unbanked. In other words, they live an all-cash life, so would be entirely shut out in a cashless society. Some also like the anonymity that comes with paying cash. Others use cash for budgeting reasons (when you’re out of cash, you stop spending).

    Hi
I'm back home from walking no cents. The Temperature out the door was 68 degrees. The Humidity is still high and the same as yesterday there was a light drizzle out the door while walking, It was no fun walking.
I did see three deer on the outbound leg eating some of the landscaping in some homeowners front yard, then on the return leg in a different area I saw one more, The Deer are out and about this week.

Our weather forecast for today through Sunday showed a 10% chance of rain, since there was a light mist falling as I left the house and it had been falling long enough that the ground was wet with some puddles I am calling today as 100% rain chance in reality. The Clouds were low enough that I could hear the planes flying overhead and could not see a trace of them.

I believe that the Nuclear Plants are pretty much weatherproof

Thunderstorms are OK by day, when they happen after I retire to try for a good nights sleep they are a problem :(

Rain as long as it does not cause flooding I do not mind, much.

IMO or maybe IMHO Cleaning is not that important a chore  As long as the important areas are clean such as the Kitchen or bathrooms I am not going to lose sleep over a little dust. Since I do what McDonalds called CAYGO in the past the Kitchen is not hard. CAYGO means "Clean As You Go" cleaning becomes a chore when I let it pile up in the past then I find that I have trouble deciding where to start so after I asked a MCds worker what CAYGO meant I adopted it.

May May is on my feet! I cannot do my work due to her napping there! What a shame!! :#

Doing better on not overeating....Glad you are getting your flu shot, Roger!!

Remember...short time till Halloween candy and Thanksgiving, lol.... :| ...Jan
I plan to go for the Flu Shot when the place opens to try and beat the crowd, Place being this one:
    http://www.medemerge.com/

I guess I'm lucky that my biggest waste of time online is reading news

Possibly an economy measure, possibly to fit in more commercials or a more suspicious minded person would wonder what they are not covering due to politics ?

Losing news Content and weather, not good, More dumbing down. Visuals ahead of content :(
It might be time to look for another news broadcast ?

Well May May could be laying on You feet, At least they'll be nice and warm.

Binge Overeating is a problem, For me I define it as Once You eat something You shouldn't eat a mental what the heck and continuing to eat poorly for the rest of the day. That happened to me Thursday, I was in the Grocery store and deluded myself that I would only eat the small 2 for $1 bags of Cheetos over a few days, You guessed it, shortly all gone.

Here it is two days later and I was up 1/4 of a pound from that day. To the Good I bought and froze two packages of Roast Beef Ends that the Deli department puts in a special bin as a good discount. I also did likewise with what was described a Turkey London Broil that in the past works well in the Mid Day Sandwich from my NS regimen.

No Problem with Halloween candy, Since we give out 50 cent coins there is no left over candy to temp fate. Here is a stray thought for people that do hand out Candy, As the end is near of the Trick or Treaters Get rid of it in the last few bags presented ?

Thanksgiving is a different issue, I need to Lose extra leading up to the holiday to make up for it.

    Have a Good Day

Argh. Lost long post. Dentist fine. No puppies for me. I have 4 dogs. Work bologna makes me so sick!!!! More lay offs. I have interview on Thursday and applied at another company just now. I love what i do. But i have to face what is going on at my current company.
    Hi Val
Been there done that, Sometimes I get Lucky and can undo from the edit menu on my browser or with Ctrl Z which is the keyboard. Sometimes I just have to recreate :(

If I had to guess the Layoffs are the productive people too. You need to look after Yourself first.

Nice set of puppies. A fair sized amount of them too.

    Good Luck at the Interview

    Good morning.

Finally got some work done around the house. :)

Val, sorry you are feeling under the weather with your shots. Sure is lots of rain and flooding. We are between the systems, so except for very hot and very humid we are having dry sunny weather. Location, location..wait that is real estate... :#

    Sweet sweet puppies!!!! <3

Had some Pizza Hut today, but I have not ordered in a while. The toppings were great, but remember the old commercial, "Where's the Beef?".....Well, no longer sauce. Instead of tomato sauce there seems to be a sweet smear of a watered down version of tomato juice. Not the Pizza Hut I grew up with. Guess I will check other locations...It may not be strictly Pizza from Italy, but I like some American Sunday Sauce on mine...I am getting old...Sauce and news disappearing... :*

Flooding awful when I can find pictures of it. Heartbreaking...

Interesting stories in the above articles. Love Dad getting back his car...Sweet kids!!

    Take care all!! ...Jan

I have already posted more humor today

    Hi
I'm back home from walking no cents. The Temperature out the door was 63 degrees. The Humidity is down, When I got up and looked out the living room window I could see stars in a nice clear sky and unlike yesterday the sky stayed clear.

Yesterday was not to bad outdoors. Today on my return home I opened a window in the Dining Room, back of the house. And the Inside door so that I can get fresh air inside from the Screened Front porch.

    Hi Val
Interesting that You mention Flu Shot, I went yesterday and got one too. My left shoulder is somewhat sore where the injection took place, So far not as sore as from last years flu shot

I'm sorry to hear that Shingles affects You so severely :( I wonder if I am at risk for it, I seem to remember that all of us kids had measles when were young.

That would be a different storm and unrelated to Florence ?

    Hi Jan
Location, location can also matter when it comes to storms IMO

It sounds as if Pizza Hut has gone down hill, I wonder if it is related to economizing or if the ownership of the chain has changed. What I remember with eating Pizza Hut which has been a while as they closed the one that was close enough to go to is that it tasted good, The Crust always seemed as it it had soaked up oil, and that eating Pizza Hut or White Castle also meant No Laxative was needed something the complete opposite was needed after eating it

American Sunday Sauce would be a nice Italian Tomato Sauce ?

Sad news with the flooding and a really slow mover of a storm which means more flooding. We are supposed to get rain for Florence Tuesday, Nothing like the Carolina's however as they are saying up to 1.5 inches of rain.

I agree, That is a father that raised really good children.

Hopefully You enjoy today's links too.

I did it again and lost my post. Much improved today. Only 1 in 7 have this reaction which makes the person “unable to perform daily activities “ for 1 to 3 days. Rained all weekend from a tropical storm in the gulf. (Not related to Florence) San Antonio is having its wettest September ever.

    Hello!

Bummer to lose post twice!! I hate when that happens even once, Val. So sorry you had such a reaction. And glad it was not worse.

Cannot remember if your disturbance was named, Val. But it was a nice swatch for sure.

Roger, did you have chicken pox when you were young? That is when sometimes there is a later virus causing Shingles, I believe. Good to know if you remember..

Yep, Sunday sauce is good thick Italian tomato sauce. LOL, simmered by an Italian grandma all day...just in case familia shows up...and they did! :D

Good articles again! Hoping you did not get too much rain from left over Flo. You are right, sure not like the Carolinas!

Long day at church and small group. The dinner jenny and I ate out at with the good sausage and apparently other things which contained liquid smoke or something on Friday brought on a gout attack or something. Took my meds, an orthopedic dose of Tylenol, and bought and ate my banana fro potassium. Already feeling some relief, thank goodness!

May and I shared some popcorn and we are ready for bed. I love a dog that cherishes sleeping, lol... :#

Take care all, hope you are feeling better, Val!! ...Jan

I just posted more humor, Now to get tomorrows setup ready to post.

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and one thin dime found. The Temperature out the door was 65 degrees. The Humidity is the same as yesterdays. When I out the door I could see a partly cloudy sky and I could see stars in the clear area of the sky. As I was walking the stars disappeared behind clouds that had moved in. According to the weather forecast the Clouds are remnants of Florence and Rain should be moving in later today through tomorrow with occasional Thunderstorms.

Yesterday the high temperature was in the mid 80s...
My best guess and it is a guess is that the Rain Showers are not everywhere and therefore the 70%, I could also be wrong.

    A Little Humor now:
A software developer, a hardware engineer and a mid-level manager were on their way to a conference center located near the top of a mountain. After the conference, they were driving down the steep mountain road and suddenly the brakes on their car failed. The car careened almost out of control down the road, bouncing off the crash barriers, until it miraculously ground to a halt scraping along the mountainside. The car's occupants, shaken but unhurt, now had a problem: they were stuck halfway down a mountain in a car with no brakes. What were they to do?
The manager said, "Let's have a meeting, propose a Vision, formulate a Mission Statement, define some Goals, and by a process of Continuous Improvement find a solution to the Critical Problems, and we can be on our way."
"No, no," said the hardware engineer. "That will take far too long, and besides, that method has never worked before. I've got my Swiss Army knife with me, and in no time at all I can strip down the car's braking system, isolate the fault, fix it, and we can be on our way."
"Well," said the software developer, "Before we do anything, I think we should push the car back to the top of the mountain and see if it happens again."

I know You are not the only person that loses posts as I have seen people in other message threads complain that they do it too.

Just Your bad luck that You are in the 1 in 7 :(
    Any flooding ?
Once the remnants of Florence pass through later today and Tuesday It will be interesting to see how accurate the weather forecasts were and how the Brooks though town look. Many times rain puts them over the banks but only onto the flats that surround them.

Wetter than last years storms ?

That is the way it was with dads mother, When he would take us by there was always a pot of Tomato Gravy with home made meatballs, Pork and Beef Neck-bones, Braciola usually in grandmothers case made with Pork Skin with garlic rolled up in it before it was fried and then dropped into the gravy to pick up more flavor.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Braciola
n Sicilian cuisine, Italian-American cuisine and Italian Australian cuisine, braciola or the plural braciole (the word is commonly pronounced /bra'zhul/ from the Sicilian language) is the name given to thin slices of meat (typically pork, chicken, beef, or swordfish) that are rolled as a roulade (this category of rolled food is known as involtini in Italian) with cheese and bread crumbs and fried. In Sicilian, this dish is also called bruciuluni.

Braciole can be cooked along with meatballs and Italian sausage in a Neapolitan ragù or tomato sauce, which some call sarsa or succu (Sicilian), or 'Sunday gravy' in some areas of the northeastern United States. They can also be prepared without tomato sauce. There exist many variations on the recipe, including variations of cheese and the addition of vegetables, such as eggplant. Braciole are not exclusively eaten as a main dish, but also as a side dish at dinner, or in a sandwich at lunch.
    Cooked Braciola.

After being stuffed and rolled, braciole are often tied with string or pinned with wooden toothpicks to hold in the stuffing. After pan-frying to brown, the rolls of meat are placed into the sauce to finish cooking, still secured with string or toothpicks.

No remnants from Florence yet, later today and tomorrow :(

Fortunately Sausage never kicked up my gout, I do not remember ever having anything that I knew has Liquid Smoke either. It is no fun and I'm glad to hear it getting less painful.
I do not think of bananas for Gout, I eat them to prevent leg cramps.

Your is the only dog I know of that likes Popcorn
I'm guessing Buttered with real melted butter and only salted to taste after May Mays portion is separated from Yours ?

    Good morning!

Glad you found your dime! That is a good start to the morning! We have one restaurant that truly cooks Italian as you mentioned above. Yum, my favorite! <3

That is why I asked about the chicken pox, or chicken pops as my daughter used to say. They are a different virus than measles, therefore the shingles only come from chicken pox. My guess is you had them too, as it is a really big deal to have them later when you are older. I did not get them till I was 16. I remember being miserable!

The bananas were for leg cramps and foot cramps. I had not had any bananas in a week or more. They go bad here so quickly and I forgot to pick them up. Even the green ones go bad fast...not sure how much of foot pain was gout and how much was cramps. Hurt either and both ways, lol... :D

Loved the weather forecaster drama. That was pretty funny!! So was the picture on the 2nd page further down where the weather lady and crew are in the boat, and the guy walks behind them in barely ankle water..Barely enough to float their boat, and her with her heavy parka, lol...Gotta love it! <3

Trusting news less and less!! :D

Jose makes up for it with his feeding so many. :)

I am sure you will cringe, but May and I shared microwave popcorn from Piggly Wiggly. Butter flavor and not too much salt...I love it the best...even over my reg. popcorn maker, lol!! I know...it takes all kinds!!

Take care all! Have a good Tuesday!!
