Roger - i look at your weather up there and can’t imagine walking when it’s so cold. I hibernated during winter when i lived in snow country, or drive to the mall and go walking there.

Bailey pup is now spoken for. She’s going to stay with me until Saturday.
I’m stressed on three separate unrelated fronts. (1) work, (2) ex husband, and (3) Em’s Chemistry teacher. I worked late last night and tonight and finished the report that’s due Thursday. So tomorrow is review and strategy meeting. The workload isn’t stressful it’s the idiot managers adding chaos when there’s no need. I’m suing my ex (with his agreement) re my kid...he was supposed to sign a few forms w a notary. He signed one. Unclear if it’s a mistake or he’s playing games. He says it was a mistake. Time will tell. That teacher that was so horrid during teacher conferences...claims that my account of our meeting is pure fiction. I broke out laughing. He agrees there is no problem with the child. Well that’s good. But is claiming i am pretending there’s a problem??? I told the Dean what can I possibly get from doing that? He agrees the teacher’s story makes no sense.
I couldn’t stop eating today...hungry (and I’m sure some stress eating). I stayed keto, just too much. I’m so tired of being fat.

    Good morning,

Roger, those are terrible temperatures!! Bless you heart!! :/

I have a terrible feeling I am waiting for the other shoe to drop with the car...I can not fully believe something did not go wrong underneath!!

Adorable pup...what a sweetheart. Why are bosses not more like dogs??? You have some nutty management at that place. Hard to believe they stay solvent..As Roger says..it must be all your hard work..with a few others...Not them for sure!! Do not let them get to you. Teacher or ex either...what a pain!!! Don't worry about a few days over..keto loses slow..but you will lose!! We all get frustrated over being heavy!! I can guarantee you that!! I hate it too!! <3

I will be posting more humor shortly

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and no money was found. The Temperature out the door was 29 degrees. I did acquire a $1 Mexican coin or maybe it is a 1 peso although it uses a $ 1 on the one side that the clerk at the Store where I picked up my coffee did not want

We have a light snow <1 inch that is forecast to start falling sometime this afternoon into the night, Conditions on Thursday will need to be determined and I will be interested in the evenings weather forecast.

    Hi Val
I do not enjoy walking when the weather is too cold, OTOH I do dress for it and have heated Gloves and Heated Mittens. The Mittens work better on the really cold days and the gloves I use when the weather is somewhat warmer.

I could go Mall walking, It would just be a nuisance have to either get my brother up early to let me out of the driveway or do the car shuffle a couple of times a day. I prefer not to put the extra wear and tear of cold starts on the engine and maybe transmission.

You really deserve less stress in Your life. Managers tend to feel the need to add something to help bolster their feelings of importance IMO.

It sounds like 50-50 that he forgot or is playing games, Time will tell. Good Luck there.

You are not surprised that a arrogant teacher would react and say that are You ?

It does sound like stress eating Staying Keto even if it was to much, it could have been much worse.

Good Luck for the rest of this week

    Hi Jan
I suppose the temperatures do not bother me as much since I lived in the Midwest when Young and then in NJ and never in what could be called a warmer climate. NJ runs warmer than Iowa for example

Good Luck with the car, often time what scrapes is the exhaust system and it is likely to be OK or You would hear it.

Not letting things get to You is trick that is hard to acquire IMO.

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and one beat up and corroded penny was found. If it were not for the round shape I would have missed it as it was a similar color to the crack in the road where I spotted it. The Temperature out the door was 28 degrees. Yesterdays "Snow" left the roads wet and most of the sidewalks likewise with a coating on the lawns that the grass is peeking through.

Off and on Cloudy sky this morning, when I left out I could not even see low flying planes, later on I could see the Moon and stars and then some clouds rolled in. Possible bad weather this weekend, The weather forecasters will not commit yet, ever since they were wrong back in November they have been cautious that way.

Crud, Bad data, No luck at all, Makes me wonder if that was on purpose or just an idiot being what they are.

Our Normal daytime high temperatures should be in the 50s according the the weatherman, Ha! Wednesday it never got up to freezing ans see more days in the extended forecast that will be below normal and some of the nighttime temps in the teens :(

I agree, If the Seniors holding on to their homes was to blame where should they go if they sell if not another home, Nursing home, Senior Apartments, assisted living ? That article was written by a dummy IMO.

I’m exhausted but not sleepy. Zero sleep last night. Worked until midnight then spent 4 hours stressing over that teacher...then back to work.
The puppy is available...landlord wouldn’t budge. She’s really sweet. I let her sleep in the big bed last night and she just cuddled and slept while I watched Muder She Wrote and tried to figure out what to do about the chemistry teacher. Sigh.

    Good morning,

Does it seem like some people are on this earth just to give others a hard time? :s That teacher sounds like he is in need of some professional help. Geez....To bad she can not switch teachers. I remember you said that was not really possible. Hope things quiet down at work, Val. Too bad about the pup. I bet they were heartbroken..Weird it is okay in the lease but not with the manager. Don't feel you will have too much trouble finding him a family.

Weird weather all over the U.S. Sounds like a rough weekend in Jersey coming. We are due for a cold spell. We have had more rain...it is rather damp down here.

Doctor went well. I did get something for arthritis. What is one more when you are taking so many... :D

I was really bad..I have had a taste for donuts and got some. The sad thing was they were not worth it. Much too sweet. Even sadder I ate them anyway....not keto so will start fresh again in the morning.. >:)

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and no money was found. The Temperature out the door was 25 degrees. When I headed out there was no snow falling, the snow started by the time I was 2 blocks from home and was in the 1/2 or a little higher by the time I returned home. It is still snowing lightly here and according the the local news forecast it should stop shortly, South NJ is forecast to have more snow accumulation.

100% chance of Precipitation here since it is already falling. The weather forecast shows precipitation in the forecast for Saturday, Sunday and Monday, That means four days with some sort of either rain, snow or a mix.

    Hello Val
I am sorry to hear that, Zero sleep is not good for anybodies health, Supposedly, according to the news last night not getting enough sleep has an effect on weight loss and can cause a gain :( That sounds like both of us FWIW.

Mom watched Murder She Wrote too FWIW, She enjoyed it.

The landlord could be forced to allow a dog if it is in the lease, Then the Landlord could decide not renew when the lease expires so it sounds like a Lose lose situation sadly.

Good Luck With the Arrogant Lying Chemistry Teacher.

At the risk of not being PC I am not surprised that a Muslim (Moslem ?) would be that way dealing with females. IMO if You do not speak the language clearly You should have nothing to do with teaching.

As for the Puppy I suspect that it is easier when they are small and cuddly

    Damp I can deal with.

How many are You taking ? I would be worried about interactions between them.

It can be hard discarding something You paid for.

I am also not sure if Net Carbs work with High Blood Sugar or Keto, The recipe says

Macros per slice of Keto Yeast Bread (assuming 18 slices): Calories: 105 cal Fat: 5g Carbs: 2.2g Net Carbs (10.1g total carbs – 4.6g fibre – 3.3g sugar alcohols) Protein: 10g

So is it 10.1 total carbs to worry about or the 2.2 net carbs ?

Either way, Have a Nice Day

    Hello Val
Despite not walking I suspect I will get enough exercise in to make up for the not walking when we go out and shovel the Sidewalks and driveway. The driveway will likely need two shovelings as when the plow they push snow into the foot of it by the road :(

I wonder if or when we will get mail today, Today is the day my pension check which they never mail before the first of the month should arrive

Wow, Bailey is housebroken that quickly, Kudos. Good Luck with the interested people, Push the fact that with a Doggie door She is housebroken it couldn't hurt.

I am sorry to hear about work, I keep hoping for improvement there.

Eating Keto as I said even if more than You should it could be worse, You could be stuffing Yourself with carbs.

Carbs Jack up the Blood Sugar and can lead to cravings when the blood sugar crashes later on.

    Good morning,

I had to get ready yesterday for the retreat today and straighten the house as my daughter let May out for me. The retreat was like 7 am to 5 pm..so it was a long day without someone for her. She did okay being it, but not sure if her tummy was upset or being alone upset her. I think it was just her tummy as she ate a little grass yesterday, too. Fun day but so glad to be home!!! I missed home and May.. :#

That is quite the snowfall and temp. probably wise to take it somewhat easy!! Of course, shoveling is hard work whether once or twice!! Darn plows, lol!!

My word, just wrong to sell a dog for paying bills. On e-bay they were very lucky to get a good owner. It could have been such a nightmare. I still think it is just wrong though...Frankenmeat..they better label it as such, because I do NOT want it!! Ha Ha!! I could have told them it takes years to recover from having a kid. I could have used the money and told them all that, lol... :D

On the carbs you can subtract all fiber and some of the alcohol sugars also. So your net carb would indeed be the 2.2 carbs. Sometimes on the alcohol carbs it depends on the sweetner used. It is very much still reduced. Some alcohol carbs will make people hungry. Just have to try it and see. Too many also can give you diarrhea!! :s The bread is many slices so should not matter unless you eat the whole loaf..which I could do!! Portion control is a shaky thing for me. I think that recipe said you could just bake it. My breadmaker often tells a recipe that you can hand mix and bake in a reg oven too. Some you can not..

Hang in there all!!! Val, hope you get some rest and work improves!! Roger take it easy with the snow!!

    Have a Good Day!! :)

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and no money was found. The Temperature out the door was 30 degrees. The Streets and most of the sidewalks were OK, Except that where the sidewalks crossed the streets many of those areas had lumps of snow thrown there by the Plows so I did 50% or more of the walking in the streets. Tonight's weather forecast as of last night is for snow moving in during the evening hours and enduring through the night into early Monday.
Although I did not walk yesterday the MFP says that I burned 738 calories while shoveling the sidewalks and driveway.

    Hi Jan
I do not recall if You mentioned what type of retreat, Religious ? I'm guessing that all that activity left You exhausted by the end of the day ?

The End of the driveway needed shoveling twice before and after the plows, The neighbors driveway across the street ended up with over 2 foot of plowed snow across it. Since they are away on one of their trips my Brother and I also shoveled that for them as he has come over more that once with his Snow Blower and helped us. At least the Entire driveway and the sidewalks were shoveled and are now dry  and thus ready for Tonight's Snow :(
We did take it easy as I was out three times shoveling and my brother twice. I will say that without any wind I took the lazy way out and shoveled the 2nd and 3rd time in the shorts I wear inside the house with a sweatshirt and insulated gloves for warmth.

Sometimes on the alcohol carbs it depends on the sweetener used.

Well FWIW the dogs owner said they had the legal right and there is a possibly that was the best for the dog as I seem to remember it needed Vet care and if the owner could not pay taxes how could they pay a vet ?

I wonder how the women that have a baby a year handle it.

Frankenmeat may be all that is available if Ocasio-Cortez gets her way with her Green New Deal.

Since You have a bread-maker You are all set to make that bread ?
I found that Sugar Alcohols give me a lot of gas.

    good morning,

That is really nice of you doing your neighbor's shoveling. Nice you all look out for one another. I would have paid for a picture of you shoveling snow in shorts!!! :# Love it!!

The retreat was religious though not the religious you might think of like Catholic retreat with prayer and silence.. which I actually would love. I had a good time. 2 ladies spoke on Rest. Rest being the topic. What is it and how do we find it. We had breakfast and lunch, a game, and raffles and just break times so we could just walk, or talk with each other. It was great. I was tired as I did some lifting and carrying of things which kills my back, lol..My friend uses a walker so I carry her things and mine, ie, her diabetic supplies and purses, ect. It is very social which I like in moderation.. I did not make it to church as I felt sorry for May alone two days in a row and really, the social aspect kind of wore me out and I needed home and alone time. People in the South really do not do that down here and for sure, my church is very social and does not get that.. Maybe it is just me too, as I am very comfortable with being alone and quiet...like silent. That is definitely not my church....Oh well.. Funny too that while talking about rest at retreat...it leads them to more service..with me...it leads me to more quiet and alone. Ah the paradox...

The above recipe IS high for strict keto. Carbs should be 20 grams or less. That could be fixed my having just one egg roll. That would be hard for me, lol.. Possibly you could use a keto bread with less carbs than his, use less green pepper and onion..maybe substituting kale instead. Sometime on strict keto if you are faithful to the diet, 50 or less carbs ONE time may not kick you out of ketosis. Especially if you lower carbs to 20 or less the next day and resume your 20 g. or less. Keto is hard to understand and there are a lot of mis- info out there.. even by dieticians. One said it was bad because you do not eat diary. Most keto people do eat diary.. It makes the diet very doable.. the whole fat being the key to less hunger. My labs still looked good even with a forkful of "forbidden" carbs occasionally, lol...not too often though!!!! It can be slow, not steady, going for a while not losing, then dropping a small chunk at a time...And of course everyone is different...

You are quite right about the dog getting a better owner. The previous owner will probably get another dog though I bet. I still do not like it. No vetting for the animals to see if it is to a good home, though I guess if you drop a bundle you would hopefully care for it. I know Craigs list is not as good..and cheaper. many animals on their become abused, neglected or picked up for illegal dog fighting... :s

Why is it Amazon can do all this stuff and not be considered a form of a monopoly as they branch out and choke the competition, then we are left at the mercy of them.. I kind of do not get it. They kind of ruined Whole Foods where they lost the concept of it when they bought it out..

I kind of think Frankenmeat won't fly. I hope not anyway!!! LOL!!!..

Take care!! Thanks for the humor!!! Have a great day!!! ...Jan

    Hi
I'm home and decided last night not to walk today due to the weather forecast and Therefore no money was found. The Temperature outside the door is 34 degrees. There appears to be 3 Plus inches and the road looks slushy add in that there are piles of snow at the foot of the sidewalk and driveway from overnight plowing and getting to the street could be rough. They have already made three more passes down our little street and it appears that they are likely done plowing it. My brother and I will be outside shoveling later.

I just went out the front door and took a couple of shovels full of the snow which is wet and heavy and according the trusty wooden yardstick is 3 inches deep. It would appear that I may be able to drive up to the bank and deposit with some cash back my Pension Check.

We still had some snow with the grass peeking through it before this latest snow :(

When I stepped out to check the depth the it was not too bad outside I may shovel wearing the shorts I wear indoors with a sweatshirt and Insulated gloves.

    Hi Jan
No thanks with regard to a picture of these knobby knees shoveling

I like my alone quiet time too, My brother being a gregarious type is a little surprised that I like being alone as well as talking to people now and then.

Just curious I though that they sold walkers with baskets to carry things in or maybe a clip on basket sort of like what I had a youth ? This search should show You what I mean.

I thought that the recipe was a bit high on carbs too, however they did call it Keto, I suppose it could work if it was the only carbs for the day ?

BTW I find I like Bing.com for searches, Google seems as if they never forget anything.

Craigs list has become a swamp of scams and outright lies and in some cases the so called seller or buyer is really a crook seeking targets. That is why some police departments have created safe spaces for those type of transactions. If they craigs list person can't get there run away.

Amazon is not considered a Monopoly since they have many different sellers online selling through them. If You are a small seller it could be expensive to create and advertise a secure website to sell from. Most of the books my brother has me order from Amazon are sold by small sellers.

Whole foods was ruined for me when they opened one nearby and I saw the prices

Congrats on the quick adoption, dhr ? dhr = he ? I'm sure that got mangled somehow.

I hope the Stomach feels better soon, Is it related to the friends hospitalization or a separate thing.

Best wishes for a quick recovery for Your friend. They have a couple of diseases spreading out there.

I shall be posting more humor later after I reply to messages

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and no money was found. The Temperature out the door was 22 degrees. The Streets are in good shape and as usual most of the sidewalks are OK, excluding at the corners where many have not shoveled out the cutouts to the street. Thus I did most of my walking in the streets.

Our high temperature today is forecast to be 30 with a normal high of 46 we are not going to get near that for the next few days where the overnight temperatures are forecast to be in the teens.

    Hello Val
I had a feeling that was posted from the phone. I would be lost trying to text or send anything from a phone as that is a skill I never tried.

Was the home computer not worth getting fixed, I know Macs are not what I would call inexpensive. The problem with getting a new computer as I see it is that I would be spending a lot of time over the next few days loading software, I only load it when the need for it comes up.

Coconut Flour Pancakes sounds weird, OTOH I am not a fan of any coconut beyond fresh pieces.

    Stay Warm and Congratulations

    Good morning!

Goodness Roger, Bless you for walking. The temps here are mostly like Val's..We are having a few days of below freezing. And of course everything is in full bloom. The rains have knocked off most of my blueberry blossoms it was so heavy. The freeze may finish off most of the rest. The peach trees down here are at risk too, having bloomed somewhat early due to the highs being in the 70's a lot of days. Some farmers have smudge type pots and other ways to deal with it, but not all.

The tornadoes that caused the damage mostly missed me..We were under a tornado warning but it must have been radar indicated and did not drop. The same cell caused minor damage in Tuscaloosa but strengthened to that Ef4 monster that hit near Opelika, which is about 65 miles east of me. I was not aware of that till the following morning as when we were all clear, I did not check the news as all storms had blown thru for us. That is when I miss cable the most. For some reason the sites I usually check were not as forthcoming as usual on computer or radio. We had plenty of warning, as well as a heads up days in advance to be careful on Sunday. The places it hit were small with little community shelter. I heard there was a 15 minute warning, but my daughter heard only like 5 minutes. If the town's people were tracking it should have provided warning, but like I said...the town is small with lots of trailers. I doubt most people would have gotten out of town to stay in a better equipped place. My house has poor shelter and while I shelter..I do not leave. Then up against an EF4..you are pretty screwed... :s

I had skipped church Sunday due to the weather. It was silly but I did not not want to leave May. At least church people down here find it silly. Val would get it!! :# I felt less guilty after hearing the damages because it could have been us. I think, and weatherman agree my area is the new tornado alley. It is shifting east and creating an area every bit as dangerous as the midwest..

I am not as fond of coconut flour as I am almond flour. I do not want the coconut flavor unless it is a certain pork type or Hawaiian, maybe Thai type dish. But if I have a taste for it. I do find it yummy. Val, congrats on the weight loss and better days!! I hope all friends and you improve health-wise!! <3

    Take care!! Jan..
