    Hi!

I cannot believe you found so much money!! That was a fortune! That was pretty neat!!

My side door lock was not working. I had removed the lock to replace it, but a part of it stuck in the door. It is not your memory. It took me about 6 mos. or more to call someone to fix it! All is good now and i can go thru that door again, lol! :D

My military check and social security gave me about 20 dollars more. Not enough to help much due to rising prices of everything, but I am thankful for anything... Last year I broke even on Federal. This year I will pay around 200 dollars. State last year I paid 800 dollars and this year they will owe me around 650 back. I do not get it. I get the federal as I sold some stock. but I do not get the state difference. Thankful though!!

Gas is ridiculous. It would not matter so much but everything is so much higher , so it does hurt in the long run..

Loved the humor and articles! Still need to comment, but am giving up and going to bed, lol! have a good Thursday!! ...Jan

    More Humor today, Enjoy

    Hi
I'm back from walking and 1 corroded barely recognizable as penny, penny. The temperature this morning was 63 degrees. The walking was fine today and today's high is forecast to be in the high 80s.

    Hi Jan
It is nice to be able to use all the doors. We have three doors, and can currently only use the front and back doors. The side doors steps need repair and TBH I would not feel safe using them. The steps have been on the ToDo list since last year. I got a little more in SSI, As You say the costs of everything desirable have been going up. Look at what Beef and most other meats are not good. Fruits and Vegetables are not good too.

Enjoy today's humor and links too.

Hi! I’m still around (and still round). Still having abdominal pain, but blood work and CT are normal. Seeing GI specialist in a few weeks, and getting a full physical too. Aside from work, I’ve been busy trying to get my house back in order and de-clutter too. After the doberman attack, my life changed. In that first year of pain and immobility, I apparently bought stuff, not severe, but I don’t need or use the stuff...so I’m cleaning off the dust and srlling in FB Marketplace. I’m also organizing all the stuff I choose to keep. It took yesrs to get this bad, and it will take years to recover but, I’m eating that elephant one bite at a time. Well, it’s more likr a herd of elephants...but I’ve started. Sammy (the dog) got adopted! He has two grown ups and two teens and six acres plus cows...so, he’s a happy boy. Em (my 15 yo) had been resistant to learning to drive...i forced her, now she LOVES it! I’ll try to show up more regularly.

    Hi Val
I have to wonder why the pain if the blood work and CT are normal, Very weird :(

I have done the same thing in the past buying and then not really using the stuff, I'm bad that way too.

I am not surprised that she likes the mobility, I am just surprised that she can drive at 15, when I was young the driver license age was 17...

Good To hear that Sammy is adopted out and happy.

    Hi

    Good Morning!!

Sounds beautiful in your neck of the woods!! Profitable week with your change!! I love the flowering weeds and flowers in my yard. I have hired someone to do my yard, and am waiting for him to tell me when he is working me in to the schedule. I hired him late Tuesday, and have not heard a word from him since. My daughter said to be patient as it has only been 3 days, but to me it leaves a bad impression, like I have hired the wrong person. I do not care if it takes him a bit to work me in if I know when he is coming. I also do not want to have to cut something and find out he is coming in a day or two, but charging me full price. I think I am really easy to work with. Am I being unrealistic here.? I am giving him till Monday then I will call for a date. If I do not get something, he may be fired before he starts, lol...

That river sounds disgusting! It seems covering the river looks nice, but what about the ground contamination? It still needs to be dealt with. I hate when things are just not fixed to the point it is all talk and never done. That seems to be a problem lately everywhere! Your humor was great!! I would love to see that Rainbow Mountain. I hope they can take care of it properly and not let mining destroy it. That is a big temptation! The ED testing is weird because you can not always compare testing to other testing. I know my daughter teaches English. Al. is way low, even in the ED of their teachers and especially the administrators. They will not admit that problem. But my daughters classes have raised their scores the last few years more into the higher 80's and 90's percentiles. It has rose every year. That is sure not reflected anywhere. The principal would not even pick a test this year because they all show kids registering so low. They are testing this week, so I do not know what they finally used. I will have to ask my daughter.... :s

I succumbed to the new Krispy Kreme donut place in my city yesterday. Oh they were yummy! I like they do small boxes!! :) Though I do not need any!! :(

Loved the joke about me running around. I made 4 stops in Montgomery in what I hoped would be 2 hrs, but the traffic was terrible and took me 3.5 instead. May did good though. I still need to go to Walmart today for some meds. I did not get that done!

Hope you have an excellent day!! :) ...Jan B)

Initially she didn’t want to learn...when questioned she showed me a viseo of her friend learning to drive while that mom was screaming at that kid. I pointed out that we aren’t them. Now she asks daily if we can go driving. I thought 15 1/2 for permit and 16 for license. We looked it up an in Texas, kids can get permit at 14! I was surprised. Hi Jan
I do not think You are being unrealistic, I know I have left businesses in the past when I could not get service within what I think of as a realistic time frame. If they don't care enough to serve the customer I do not care enough to be a customer. I include eateries in that as well as retail stores.

For example, I was in a large chain bookstore and put what I wanted to buy back on the shelf since when I went to check out they had one register open and a really long line. That gave me the impression that the Management there was more interested in saving on the payroll than prompt service.
    Am I being Picky ?

Do You remember when the river in Ohio caught fire ? A river should not be flammable
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cuyahoga_River
The Cuyahoga River is a river in the United States, located in Northeast Ohio, that feeds into Lake Erie. The river is famous for having been so polluted that it "caught fire" in 1969. The event helped to spur the environmental movement in the US.

If I said I am not surprised that the principal is scrambling to avoid picking a test that would make Him (?) look bad. Those scores do not bode well for the future.

Admitting that there is a problem is the first step in fixing said problem, Not admitting it is a huge fail :(

Yesterday I ran out to the new Whole Foods around 9:30 AM and Picked up Pears, Apples, and a BLT sandwich Kit. Or to put it another I also picked up a head of Lettuce, 2 Tomatoes being careful to get the really large ones where one slice will cover the bread and some Cooked Bacon from the Hot Foods Section. I did also Pick up some scrambled eggs which I had with some of the Bacon for my Late Breakfast. I have to say that the cooked bacon is a nice handy thickness and really tasty too. I will be having the first BLT using two slices of 40 calorie bread and Miracle Whip later today

When I have had a Donut or muffin lately I make sure to only have one  I have a huge problem with not gobbling down all of them at once if I Buy more than one :(

    Hi Val
I would never get to far walking if the Coffee I pick up near the house did not kick in.

I could see where a Video like that could be off putting. I will say that 14 seems Young for a Permit. I Would have been surprised too.

I still remember being delayed for my D/L for something I had not thought about. When I got where they test Your eyes I failed in one eye so I had to get glasses and reschedule for the testing :( Oh well.

I have a Healthy relationship with food, I love those fattening foods, possibly a little to much

It could be worse You or I could fit into the Hoarder category. I tend to have more things than I need too. I just like to have a reserve  Such as having two new pairs of shoes in the boxes in the closet. Part of that goes back to having had such a hard time finding some that fit and thus when I pull out a pair of the walking shoes I reorder while I can. That is the same brand that discontinued the ones that fit my brother and has had a tough time trying to find a affordable style that fits. Wide feet run in the Family :(

    Have a Nice Day

    Morning All!!

Glad you are having a good time with Em driving. I would not drive with someone yelling either!! I admit to being nervous though, as I learned at school from a retired state trooper. He had brakes on his side too in a modified car, so when I taught the kids, of course I did not have that luxury. The kids did well, though and I survived, lol... I would teach the kids the freeway driving early in the morning and late at night and the traffic was sparse. That worked well. I am like Roger, those comfort foods can be a little too comforting!! :#

Loved the story about the horse sueing! Hope he wins!! ... I would think cell phones are still kind of new to have data, but I am sure us being bombarded with energy probably had consequences!....Every now and then it crossed my mind if I had a large tumor, the removal could result in a substantial weight loss, lol Probably a dark thought...And yes, that Cuyahoga River is familiar! It did not seem bad to me as a child in the 50's and 60's. Apparently I was wrong! I imagined seeing the mule driven floats though, so i may not have been looking at river quality!! We lived in Cuyahoga County, so I do remember the later fires, and impact. We swam in Lake Erie, though we swam to the east at Mentor on the Lake. It did not seem bad to me then.. :o

I am cooking today for church on Sunday though not staying. That should be good for my diet, lol. Or getting back to it I should say!!

Stay strong guys!! Have a great rest of the week-end!! :) ...Jan (cloudy! Need rain!!)

I have now posted more humor FWIW

    Hi
I'm back from walking and as I was walking across the parking lot to pick up my refill of coffee I found a penny, then leaving I found a second penny in their driveway, then crossing the street I spotted the third penny so I ended up with a grand total of 3 cents. The temperature this morning was 63 degrees. The walking was really nice today, There is a 70% chance of rain for today and the sky does have that appearance.

I hope our rain holds off as my brother mentioned yesterday that the mower smelled hot when he mowed so I hope I can get the shroud off and check to see if mice built a nest in the area over the cooling fins blocking the air flow as has happened in the past. Depends on the rain holding off.

    Hi Jan
When I was learning to drive one of the state rules was that the car had to have no console or obstructions between the Drivers side and the passenger side so that the person teaching could get their foot over in case of need. They did not have a Driver Ed course where I was in High School, so Dad taught all of us kids.

Some weird ones in the news links I posted today. Spoiler alert
Not the first idiot to get killed taking a selfie.

I made myself a BLT yesterday, So good, And I have more than enough of the precooked bacon from Whole Foods for more, It is a tasty nice and thick bacon that tastes Good Hot or Cold. I sliced the entire Tomato yesterday and since one slice covers the bread I put the rest in a Chinese Take out pint container to keep them nice and fresh. I put a light toast on the 40 calorie 647 bread slices and Smeared them with Miracle Whip and then the lettuce, tomato, torn in half slices of bacon. Yummy.

I am ambivalent about calling it the horse suing as it is a organization suing for the horse so the headline was somewhat wrong IMO. I agree that the horse was badly treated and I though there were laws about animal cruelty everywhere in the country ?

In some ways I am not surprised by the Cell Phone item, They are emitting Microwaves just like are used in a Microwave Oven to heat foods. Just at a much lower level. There are standards regarding the level of leakage by Microwave Ovens FWIW. Example below:
    https://www.fda.gov/Radiation-EmittingProducts/ResourcesforYouRadiationEmittingProducts/ucm252762.htm
    Microwave Oven Safety Standard

Through its Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH), the FDA sets and enforces standards of performance for electronic products to assure that radiation emissions do not pose a hazard to public health.

A Federal standard (21 CFR 1030.10) limits the amount of microwaves that can leak from an oven throughout its lifetime to 5 milliwatts (mW) of microwave radiation per square centimeter at approximately 2 inches from the oven surface. This limit is far below the level known to harm people. Microwave energy also decreases dramatically as you move away from the source of radiation. A measurement made 20 inches from an oven would be approximately 1/100th of the value measured at 2 inches from the oven.

So nobody puts there head against the glass in the door of the MW oven, OTOH we put the cellphone against the side of our head

As I kid I did a lot of things where now I think to myself that was really stupid. Kids

    Good Luck at Church

Hi all. I’m on Day 2 of a 1-week Nutrisystem kit (Walmart) and feeling good! The kit no longer includes dinner, but that’s okay...im doing well. Ive made about $150 so far selling my surplus stuff. It feels good to re-home my stuff and every dollar helps. Ive been regularly hittin 5,000 steps (nothing like what I used to do, but a great improvement since the last six months to 2 1/2 years!!! My best local friend moved an hour away...out to the country. I would love to live out there...quiet stary nights...have a little land with a couple lamas. The PERFECT house just came on the market...on her street, 2 acres, 2 bed/ 1/2 bath, no carpet (my preference), property nicely fenced, plus “backyard” has 6’ privacy fence so perfect for dogs yo have house and backyard when im away, and the HUGE front yard when im home out there working. Although beyond tempting...the timing is wrong. I choose to stay put so Em is near her friends and school. In 2-3 years, I’ll reconsider what I want to do. Plus...if I suddenly need a different job, it’s easier if I’m in the city. I had given Maggie my hammock...and enjoyed visiting it today in her yard. It was so peaceful!

    Hi
I'm back from walking 1 cent. The temperature this morning was 57 degrees. The walking was nice today, The 70% chance of rain yesterday ended up being a few stray drops on the window in the evening, Big Whoop.

Today's plan is to adjust the cut on the lawn mower, then cut the lawn.

    Hi Val
I wonder when they changed the contents that way. Especially since I checked on the NS website here.
    https://www.nutrisystem.com/diet-nutrition/shop-a-la-carte/2448/samplerpacks/40068/7+day+trial+pack
    7 Day Trial Pack $69.99
And they show, Get a taste of success with one week—7 breakfasts, 6 lunches, 6 dinners and 7 snacks—of customer favorites.
I'm not sure how or why 6 lunches and 6 Dinners is a weeks worth.

In some ways I would love to have enough land to never hear noises from traffic or neighbors. OTOH traveling out to pick up something You forgot to get when shopping ?

The big problem would be maintaining all that yard. I am sure a riding mower would be a necessity

Congratulations on the steps and making money like that
