My birthday is next week. Already folks at work are inviting me out to lunch and dinner...and I've told them I'm trying to not have food as the focus of celebrations. So, we're going bowling instead! I do plan to buy one cupcake, take a bite, and give the rest to my 12yo. But, we'll see how well I stick to that plan.0 -

Hi folks - went in yesterday morning to get another shot to the hip to reduce the arthritic pain and get more mobile again. 24 hours in and it seemed to do the trick. Not pain free but not crying about it either! I hope everyone is staying on plan and staying cool these days! I got out the door at 5:45AM, I did not beat the heat of course, but it was not too bad until a little ways into the walk so I ended up walking 2.7 Miles I worked up a fair sweat despite getting home at 7AM it was already hot.
Getting out early is the only way to beat the worst of the heat and beat the sun beating down on me too.
Bad Luck this afternoon. I was in the middle of a post when the Computer Died. From the Symptoms the Power supply on it has failed. I just ordered a new One, Time will tell when it is delivered.

I'm wrong about HP - not an ink hog, just pricey ink. Did way more research today. The 3 printers I'm considering are all about 99 - but canon w ink is 139, HP w ink is 200 - it really is pricey. Also has the best reviews - 4.5 stars, the rest are only 4. HP will do cardstock, which I occasionally want to do. Canon and HP - envelopes are harder to set up. Had a lovely day with my friend Mitzie - went to lunch, had a refreshing glass of sangria and shrimp tacos. then drove the lake shore for a bit.
Came home to an overly warm house - it's 73, thermostat is set at 71. They were here 2 wks ago when it turned out we had no refridgerant, and they're on their way again. It's less than a year old - this is ridiculous.
I also left our outdoor fountain on, hopefully I didn't burn out the pump cause it was dry when we went to turn it off.
Another adventurous day. Tired of the drama.0 -

The costco gift card sale just ended July 19, so it will probably be a few months until they do it again. But...some NS users bought gift cards and want to sell them (at the sale price) because they've transitioned to regular food. Would you like me to ask around? Another option is eBay.
I lived in Ohio for 8 years (1995-2003)...Cincinnati and Dayton. I remember feeling really land-locked.

I must be crazy despite the humidity and heat I went walking, I did do a new route so I could cut the run short and get home quickly from any point. That Meant I was doing an unmapped, unknown distance. I ended up going 2.84 miles and was soaked by the time I got home. Oh well, another day done.
Yesterday was a day!
We had the refrigerator repair coming on Tuesday but somewhere between Amana (Whirlpool) and the repair center it went astray and Ended up Wednesday after I called Amana and said I called the repair people and they have no record of an appointment? I am hopeful this will be a permanent fix. It seems that the original design was a problem in use. What would happen is that the water from the defrost cycles would stop draining into the pan and start running out of the freezer onto the floor. The repair involved installing a new design part that should be clog resistant.
The Yesterday The other computer just shut off. Based on what I know based on the symptoms it appears that the power supply has gone bad. I have ordered a replacement. It should be here sometime next week, Until then I have no way to print as that was the only one set up to use the printer.

They need to find the Freon Leak and fix it, Under Warranty of course. It sounds as if The last person two weeks ad=go took the lazy way out, crossed his fingers that it was a slow leak and would make it through the season. I hope this time they get it right.
Your Pump should have a Safety to prevent damage.

Hi all - not cool here - Air still out, going on day 3. Way bigger problem than expected.
Apparently we did have a leak 2 wks ago which the tech fixed. I was told when systems are installed in the winter they don't always braze well - I get that.
This time it's a stuck piston like part. The hopeful fix was a chemical that would unstick it - not!
So tomorrow, they have to put the new piston type part in. Poor AC guy - he was here almost 6 hrs today, a good part of it in our sweltering attic where the furnace and the broken part is. The part is in the coil, they were willing to provide a new coil if necessary.
It seems the company is being honest with me. Both the local contractor and the manufacturer - which is carrier. I have been assured that they won't nickle and dime us to death if future service calls are needed - they'll kinda extend the warranty. I asked about replacing the entire unit - the supervisor and I both agreed we could run into other possible problems, best to fix this one.
The problem - we bought one of the 2.5 ton AC units that is known to have this bad part. They got a bad batch so all 2 and 2.5 ton units produced within a specific 3 month period are failing. Go figure!
Parts are made in Brazil - in the rain forest - so they rust. In order to keep things flowing - they added a rust inhibitor into the system, which slides off and clogs this piston/valve. The chemical normally opens it up - not on ours. The first tech - 2 wks ago could have also knocked a tiny particle loose that's clogging it.
Murphy needs to move on! AC, Insulin pump dead - plus no insurance to cover, bank note up and the bank is bugging us - guess they want more interest and planned surgeries - poof. Murphy - you need to go away and take your Law with you!
Enjoyed a lovely eve - went out to dinner then to the lakefront park on Lake Erie. Steady 10 mph breeze, white caps and crashing waves - sat in the shade for a half hour and drank it all in. Then DH's eyes started up with allergies. He spent the eve in the 80 degree house, I sat in the back yard all eve, way cooler. If I had mosquito netting I'd throw it over myself and sleep in the cushioned patio chair - but alas - don't own any of that. We have a tent stuffed into a closet, but unable to get up and down from the ground. So inside it is - trying to pretend we're camping with all the conveniences of home, except cool air.
If the Canon printer will fit - think that's what I'm gonna buy.

I have officially reached -10 pounds and get my first nutribear! I'm excited for the little things lol. Not happy with nutrisystem at the moment... The product is great... The company and where it has gone since I was last using nutrisystem 10 years ago is a joke. 3 separate websites?!? Really?!? Went to do my mind set make over cause I found it really helpful the first time. Checked all 3 sites over and over.. Couldn't find it. Start a chat... He goes its under NuMi and that I needed to start an account. I said I have a week ago when I started.. He goes well let me look into it... And then just disconnects from the chat... Round two on the chat... "Well you will find everything you need once you learn how to navigate all 3 sites." Well that's funny cause I used "search" and it was empty handed. Grr. I remember when I did it, it used to be a book so I thought maybe I could find a pdf file online under Google and no such luck

NS has good food, great concept, cute bears, horrid management for the most part. Never liked the wishy washy fuzzy info I got, especially on pricing. Really not fond of their business practices. Counselors were great. Too bad - cause it really works, but burns out customers if they can't get grounded. No way would I be dealing with 3 sites.
I'm glad this board is here - would miss my friends terribly. We can still help each other.

Mood is better - house is cooling down. AC repair guy spent 12 hrs here, nice to have our home back to ourselves. I was feeling overwhelmed as too many important things came into focus at the same time. Still have to do cataract surgeries and figure pump out - but AC and house loan pretty much wrapped up, Thankfully.
Doc called this morning and offered me an appt today. I had left a msg over a wk ago asking if my weird spells could have to do with 2 known contraindicated meds he prescribed. He said that's not the problem, I have anxiety. Oh Joy! not. I really don't see how he can help - this is my cardiologist - but glad I finally got an answer.
Spent the day cleaning up and sorting email. Working on recipes now. Wonder why we're all enchanted with recipes? Trying to convince myself to dump the majority as I most likely will have a hard time locating one when I need it. Did clean up all my favs - reforwarded to me with proper recipe name and unnecessary text removed.

I walked a slightly different route and walked 2.8 miles today. It was much nicer out today than Yesterday, When I started out it was before Sunrise and the Blue Moon was out with a few wispy clouds drifting across it. I came home, Cooled off and went back out around 8AM and mowed the Lawn. 9682 steps so far today according to the FitBit Zip including the mowing. I am now officially tired
My Brother commented that it looks like the Censored Deer was back and ate some more overnight. I have seen them in the woody area below the lake and I saw two or three Yesterday along the edge of another park that has a wooded area along a brook. Them dang things are all over anymore. I do not know how they manage to avoid the thorns on the rose bush they have been nibbling on.

Joy, Joy, I fixed my Main floor computer last Night too. I thought it was the power supply and the Mailman delivered the new one. Long story cut short, When it still turned on and right off I diagnosed deeper, pulled the back, drives and memory. It turned out to be one of the memory chips I installed as a Memory Upgrade, I left it out and put back the original one and one of the newer ones and voila it is working again. Hmmm.... Not so short a story after all.

Congratulations on the AC working again. Hopefully that is the end of that problem.
I saved most of the user submitted recipes and most of the recipes from the Old NS site and the Old NS forum before it went poof. I may never make many of them just because there are so many that look interesting.
How I did it is I saved the web page(s) with the names as posted. As an example from the NS recipe pages
Pumpkin Pie Breakfast Cake
and Pumpkin Banana Waffle
or these Sweet Country Butter Biscuits!!!! (w/ pic) 160 cal, 7g protein
and Pumpkin Spice Bun with Maple Cream Cheese Frosting (breakfast entree+fruit)
Those are the names the web pages were saved as and it makes it easy to find something If You have an idea of the name. I just click the web page in My Documents and the page opens up in my Browser ready to read.

deer - yup - they're all over our area too. You wonder where they've been hiding all these years. So far this year they've left our garden and yard alone - well at least since Winter. I live near a freeway - honestly, it's amazing they're camping out around here.
AC running good. Nice to be more normal. Out of cotton nightie and washing that puppy! Roger - glad your puter is up and working again. Ordered a canon printer which will be here monday - inks arrive tomorrow. Pumped cause I'll be able to print tracking logs for genie so I quit duplicating documents - you only need it once! A simple checklist for each person should help.
Harvested banana peppers and cukes this morning. Need to pick kale too. Gonna make some fridge pickles today and a shrimp stir fry for dinner. That's my big to do list! Noted a pumpkin and butternut squash has started. Really puzzled about lack of zuchinni or yellow squash - nada. No acorn squash or melons either - but that's not a huge surprise. Our large tomatoes all have blossom end rot - any suggestions? The cherry tomatoes are lucious and thankfully not affected.

I suspect that the four legged appetite was back nibbling the flowers and vegetables. I say that since it looks like more damage and the Potted Petunias were knocked over despite no wind last night.

I see You decided what to order, Sometimes indecision sets in for me and I vapor lock in indecision land
When I was working in a strip mall by the Highway I would see one or two dead Deer along the road every year. The Garden plant center at the one end of the mall had to put up a fence ate night or have their inventory eaten.
I would have to be careful driving home on the back roads due to the deer running across the road. They can put a hurt on Your car if You hit them.
We got some Zucchini and Yellow squash and then the plants just sort of collapsed. Still getting some beans and tomatoes. A few of the big tomatoes have had Blossom end rot too. Some of the Heirloom types are finally getting ready to pick and we have had some Plum tomatoes and Cherry tomatoes.
No suggestions on the Blossom end rot, Sorry

Thank You, Some days it isn't easy, other days when it is cool and low humidity are not too bad.
One of the bad NS decisions is getting rid of the Weeklies. When I started We had week one, week two etc. Makeovers. I have no idea why they dumped those.
