Hi
I'm back from walking this Morning, It was a bit of a chilly to say the least. The temperature this morning was 21 on the porch and 20 on the cable channel. Yesterday I mentioned to my Brother that I was fighting the WWII battle, The Battle of the bulge ever since the Three Feasts Holiday starting with Thanksgiving, Christmas and the upcoming New Years Day meal. His answer was that he was fighting the same battle
The overnight lows are forecast to be in the single digits with a wind chill taking it down to zeroThey are still forecasting Snow for Saturday with the forecast models indicating not much to a significant amount.

We had a few hours of intense snow and wind yesterday. I am not sure of the amount, but the plows were out and hubby had to snow blow the driveway.
We are headed to Maine today to go to LLBean, but mostly just for something to do. There is a lot more snow there and a good opportunity for hubby and my daughter to take some pictures. My daughter has been taking photography classes and hubby had been watching tutorials on his computer on how to take photos. I am happy taking pictures with my phone.
Have a good day and stay warm.

Hi Vix
Wow, Unlucky You with Snow today. The Holiday was great except for the overeating of the food. I had way to much of the Mashed Potatoes and the Ham as well as the Pumpkin Pie topped with gobs of homemade Whipped Cream

Hi Irene
It was cold yesterday and colder today, I usually head out with the heated mittens on low and bump them up to medium as needed later on in the walk today low was not good enough so I went to Medium and then to high fairly quickly.
Stay Warm, Tomorrow is supposed to be worse

Good Morning, Roger I am in the same boat I have been eating all the wrong food trying to get back on program so far today I have been good. I actually got rip of some of the cookies this morning . I put an apple pie in the freezer so we can eat it at a later date. We did walk this morning the wind wasn't too bad but I hear it is going to get colder. I got the new fit bit the ionic for Christmas it is really nice. Learning all the different apps on it. Vix I sure love the idea of a cleaning service. Hi jo0

Good morning;
It is 8 degrees.
Yesterday it was a little warmer at 11 degrees when I woke up. I put away the Christmas decorations yesterday and read a book. I stayed in my PJ's all day. Hubby has the flu, so he slept most of the day.
Roger-We didn't go to the Maine Prison Store, but I have been in there before. Surprisingly there was about the same amount of snow in Maine as we got. I expected there to be a lot more.
Irene-enjoy your new Fitbit.
Vix-Did you get much snow?
Today the plan is to go to Khol's to return a gift and to Salvation Army to drop off some stuff. I have been gradually cleaning out stuff that I have had for years and haven't used or worn.
Have a good day and stay warm.

Hi Irene
Today shall be day three of getting back on plan after the Christmas day Ham, Potatoes & pumpkin pie extravaganza. I have found that once You eat the wrong food it takes a couple of days for the craving for other junk to subside. Good Luck. Yesterday I had two 3 ounce portions of leftover ham for my extra protein, the NS four cheese melt for lunch and a NS frozen Pizza for the dinner entree
We have frozen pies in the past too. We actually Vacuum seal them and that way they stay as fresh as possible with no drying out, freezer burn or ice crystals forming. The Foodsaver has a bag that fits and can take large items. The last Pie we had frozen we gave away, it was a Sweet Potato Pie.
It did indeed get colder here all over NJ, In the Northern corner Is saw that they were reporting single digit temperatures and that was before the wind chill. I was out walking this morning, I did not go as far as normal, I went somewhat over 50% of my normal steps. I did look around and found the Merino Wool scarf that was a gift in the past and it helped keep my neck warm filling the gap between the Body and Hood on the Hoodie I wear while walking.
I find it interesting that the tracker has apps.
Have a Nice Day and Stay Warm.

I am not happy with these temperatures, Even with the heated Mittens on the highest setting of the three settings My fingers felt cold. Taking off the mittens to clear my nose was a misery
I'm not that surprised that Maine had the same amount of snow.
I do not expect to be taking down the tree until next yearI know that some people do so a lot earlier than I as I saw one of the Towns DPW trucks with trees in the back yesterday while walking.
We use the same system, if You have not used something in a couple of years it is unlikely You will in the future.
I Hope Your husband gets better quickly

Good morning.
Snow turned out to be just flurries yesterday. Whew.
Coldy cold here too.
Got hubs body wear ( new fangled longjohns!) for the holiday. He likes them for his walks in the cold, says they're keeping him warm.
Hope your hubby feels better soon, Jo. Glad you are getting some time off.
Irene and Roger....I packed on some pounds too. So sad. Gotta keep away from the chocolate and trail mix!
Happy Thursday, everyone.0 -

I did not do my regular walk eitherOh well it is what it is and that cold sapped my energy. I am doing the best I can to stay warm
I like the cheerfulness of the Christmas Tree so It will be up until at least Next year. I suspect that many of the ones I see coming down may have gone up early.

Hi Vix
You got Lucky with only Flurries.
You have made me curious in what way are the Long-johns newfangled ?
In general where I feel the cold is my fingers more than any other part.
Chocolate and Trail mix will do that. I need to reduce ahead of the New Years meal and this bitter cold weather is not helping. I just could not handle the full amount of time walking today and since the weather forecast is for it to stay well below normal
Have a Nice Day
Roger0 -
newfangled* The new ones are not cotton, they're more the wicking type of material, like athletic shirts. And I think they're more fitted/stretchy, like leggings. He says they're warm and comfortable.

Good morning;
Another cold one today,5 degrees!
I plan on going grocery shopping and take down the outside lights on the bushes out front.
I too, have added a few pounds due to the holiday.
Hubby was feeling a lot better yesterday and I suspect he is over the worst of it.

Good morning, Jo glad your hubby is feeling better. We did go for a walk this morning just long enough for Annie to get credit on her gps we have the whistle and she needs to do at least 30 minutes but we did 52 minutes so we are good. No plans for today George is coming home early today so maybe we will go out for a ride but I think with it being so cold I would rather stay home where it is warm. Well take care all0

Hi

It could be worse the wind that was blowing yesterday has abated. There is a possibility of flurries this afternoon with either a coating to an inch or 1 to 3 inches for where I am depending on which forecast is correct

Hi Vix
I did the same sort of thing when I started walking, I went out for a walk around the block and built up to a longer distance. It has been cold enough that I put the heated Mittens on a high setting once I am out the door, I turn them on to the lowest heat setting of the three available as I finish getting dressed to go so that they warm up.
I hope You got Your Wegman's run done since the weather is taking a turn for the worse today.
When I arrived home I saw a stray flake or two as I approached the house, Now as I look out the window less than 1 hour later I see that the street and sidewalk has already turned white
Good Luck with Your Alternative Health experiment

Hi Irene
H Joanne0 -
Good morning.
Had a dusting of snow overnight and flurrying now. If the sun will come out it would clear our driveway and sidewalks...haha...here's hoping. The half hour reiki was nice yesterday, relaxing.
Roger, yep, my huge arthritis/fibro flare really set me back, so will work out of it slowly. The PT is starting to help too.
Happy Saturday, everyone.0 -
