Good morning.
Good luck with the painting, Irene. Are you almost done?
Hi Roger and Jo.
I don't have any plans for today, but will probably go out to the library later. It's nice to have a day without appointments.
Happy Wednesday!
Hi Vix
I think Your snow started earlier than mine as it is coming up from the south. Mine started around 6AM and traffic is light and schools are closed today.
I have no plans to go anywhere by car for the next 2 or 3 days. It looks like a good day to stay inside.
Have a Nice Day

We are expected to get 12-16 inches of snow tomorrow starting about 4 am. Schools are closed. I got an email from the vet, eye doctor and my doctor saying they were closed tomorrow.
I plan on going into work early, so I can get out early. As I get older, I get anxious driving in the snow.
Vix-I used to be 5'6" and now I am 5'4".
Irene-I hope you got all your painting done.
Roger-It got up to 30 degrees today, a real heat wave.
Have a good evening.
Lucky You being in the area with a deeper snowfall in the forecast, Mine is predicted to be 4 to 6 inches currently. Our high yesterday never broke freezing either. I suspect that Your snow will start later than was forecast as mine started later than they originally thought too.
Not having to go out in bad weather is one large benefit of being retired. I was never thrilled driving in snow. It was not my skills I worried about, it was the others on the road around me. I watched more than one speed demon slide off of the road.
Good Luck driving to work
Roger0 -
Good Morning, well we went and did our walk before it started to snow we got about 50 minutes in. Lately we haven't been going on our long walks mostly because it is so cold. My painting is coming along I get bored of painting that is why it is taking me so long I am about half done in bedroom . The ride up to Trenton was ok but that was at 5 am now the roads are a mess ,if they get really bad we will stay overnight here in Trenton I do prefer Browns Mills well going to try and get some more painting done stay warm0

Good morning;
I left work at a little after 10. The visibility was awful. I drove 20mph. Luckily there were not a lot of cars on the road, so I made it home in 17 min. I plan to stay in for the rest of the day.
Tomorrow is the grand re-opening of my store and I have to be in to work at midnight.
I really think they should have postponed it.
Stay warm and safe.0 -
Jo, I agree with you....that should be postponed. With that much snow, most people would have done their shopping today and will not go out tomorrow.
We lucked out and there is really no accumulation. Mostly a dusting though it drifted to about 1" in places. Very windy when I went to my PT appt.
That's wonderful about the possible drug for Alzheimer's. Hopefully they will be able to get it out on the market quickly.

And yet more humor posted
Hi
I'm back from walking this Morning. The temperature this morning was 13 on the porch and 11 on the cable news channel. We Ended up shoveling the sidewalks and driveway last night around 6PM when the snow was done falling. I picked up my coffee and the winds were blowing with a wind chill of Zero or colder. The walking was good except where the sidewalks were still snow covered. I am guessing 6 to 8 inches fell around here and much more in parts of South NJ. I was very happy to get back home this morning

Hi Irene
I only managed 1/2 hour of walking Thursday before the snow started falling. I have been wearing a pocket T-Shirt to hold the iPod along with two Sweatshirts and a Hoodie and in honor of today's wind I also added the rain gear as a windbreaker to help head to toe. Today I also added Carhartt Thermal pants under the normal walking pants. That does the job even today except for the three blocks I was facing into the wind. The worst part of today's walking was the short stretch where I could not walk on shoveled sidewalks or road. That was a misery due to the depth of the snow.
I am sure the roads are a mess and especially near Browns Mills even with plowing.
Have a Good Day

Hi Vix
I share Your hope about the Alzheimer drug. The shoveling last night was not too bad as much of the driveway had areas where the wind had cleared most of the snow, yea!
The areas where it was not plowed, shoveled or windswept were not good walking. You got lucky for snow.
Have a Nice Day
Roger0 -
good morning, well we are not walking today it is too cold we are afraid of Annie getting frost bite so she is not happy. We are in Browns Mills I plan on taking down the tree today so I should get some step exercise in by going up and down the stairs. I did get more painting done yesterday so I am a little more than half way done with the bedroom . The bedroom is taking me longer because we have furniture in there we have a bed and a dresser we kept it there in case we need to stay over because of the weather. well take care everyone and stay warm0

Good morning;
There were not many customers in the store this morning for the grand opening.
Tomorrow the store is hosting an open house, where most of the dept. will be sampling food.
We got about 18 inches of snow. The roads were clear for the most part when I went to work at 1:30 this morning.
Roger-You are brave to walk in this cold. It would be beneficial for so many people if the Alzheimer drug works.
Have a good day and stay warm.0 -
Good morning.
6 degrees here. brrrrrrr. Have some things to do around the house and will go out later for grocery shopping.
That's a lot of snow, Jo. I guess in Ma, they're used to it. Good that they get the roads cleared so quickly. It would take about 5 days here!
Irene, good that you can stay over in Trenton if the weather's bad. I'll bet you'll be glad when that house is sold.
Roger, hubs walks everyday too. I think I'll try again when it warms up a little.
Happy Saturday, everyone.0 -

Hi
I'm back from walking this Morning. The temperature this morning was 10 on the porch and 8 on the cable news channel. The sidewalks and driveway have a bit of snow that drifted last night around 6PM. I picked up my coffee and the winds were not blowing as hard as yesterday. The walking was good except where the sidewalks were still snow covered and I did run into a stretch where spray from the road coated them with ice. I stopped at the grocery store to warm up and bought some sliced ham that was on sale at a good price. Once again I was very happy to get back home this morning

Hi Irene
I have found no problems walking except that even where the sidewalks are shoveled many of the corners are blocked by plowed snow meaning I am detouring into the street to where a driveway is.
Today was worse walking in some ways due to a short stretch where Slush thrown by cars built up as thick ice. 95% of the distance was OK OTOH.
Good idea keeping a way to stay over.
Cheers

Hi Vix
6 degrees, stay warm while You run around outside.
Last nights news had a item where the one southern Airport had its runways closed by snow and said that the airport had no plows and that they hoped the Air Force would get the runways open for them.
I wore Thermal Pant under the walking pants and two sweatshirts and a Hoodie today as well as a complete set of rain gear to act as windbreakers.
I hope Your Husband has no problems walking

It will be a little warmer today 16 versus 11 degrees. I will brave the cold to go and do some grocery shopping.

Hi
I'm back from walking this Morning. The temperature this morning was 2 on the porch and 5 on the cable news channel. Thus it was colder but no worse walking as there was no wind
I am running late today, Yesterday My brother had a slight flicker in hi screen on the desktop computer. Today It was not working so I dragged out a spare Video Card that I had replaced on my computer as it worked great with Windows 7 and not well with Windows 10. That card meant I had to change the power supply to get the 6 pin power for it. Then Still no Joy so I brought in the Spare unused TV that has a VGA connection and Voila success. I left the old video card out as the cooling fan on it was not running and I was sure it would die sooner or later. The New Power supply is a spare Seasonic higher efficiency unit so I left it in too.
The General Tso's Chicken that my brother brought home from the Quick Chek seems to be a new item for them. I had two of them and they were OK, Looking at the Nutrition info on the box I see that the two I ate were 93 calories. I adjusted my noon snack to accommodate them. When I got on the scale this morning No Problem

Hi Joanne
I was prepared for the cold, OTOH I still feel it in my fingers even with the heated Mittens. They get really cold when I have to perch so I can sit down the Coffee and walking stick and pull out the Kleenex. They seem to take forever to warm back up.
I would not be surprised, People will do a lot of things to get freebies
As I mentioned above I was seeing 2 degrees, according to my brother this mornings weather report showed parts of NJ below Zero and one of those areas is not that far away either at 12 miles distance. I am glad I am not living there.
My brother is making the Grocery Store Run today, He can be trying to go along with as he spends over an hour on any trip. he walks every Aisle looking to see if he missed putting anything on his list. Whereas I am a Make a List, Blitz through the store as quick as possible and head back home.

Hi Vix
Our temperatures are forecast to go up this week, Tomorrow it may or may not break freezing depending on whose forecast You believe
On My return home I got out the shovel and cleared the snow that had drifted onto the sidewalks and driveway with the last two days winds.
Despite being the coldest of the last few days it was not bad out between the layers and lack of wind chill.
Stay Warm Too
Roger
Hi Irene0 -
good morning, it was -1 today when we walked only did a little over 30 minutes the last 2 days we didn't walk. Yesterday it was really cold and windy so I did some food shopping and that was about it. take care everyone0

Guess I'm getting a little benefit from being further south.

Hi Irene
You seem to have had colder weather than I, I was marginally warmer. At least there was no wind. I have been getting out for my usual distance despite the weather, OTOH I did do a couple of warm up stops on different days. One day I popped into the the Post Office Lobby to warm up and another day I popped into the Grocery Store and warmed up and did a little shopping while I was there.
I could see where they were walking on the lake and probably playing Ice Hockey in a area that was cleared of snow and has a net at one end.
I was able to avoid the Grocery Store yesterday as my brother picked up the few items I wanted, Those being Bananas and the 647 bread that is 40 calories per slice.
Have a Good Day
