good morning, we had a nice walk this morning I walked with a rain coat and a hat on it did a light rain toward the end of the walk. But I was able to get in an hour walk in and 8885 steps In so I am good . Well I got most of my lace curtains done when I go to Trenton on Tuesday I will most likely hang them . Nothing really going on this weekend . I did get a lot of the painting done in the computer room so one more room and then I will pretty much be done painting just the laundry room and the wood work in the sunroom I will be so happy when it is done I am so done with all this painting so glad it is coming to an end. On the 24 th we have an appointment with empire carpet they will come over and see what kind of deals they have. Vix so glad your ultra sound results came back with good results . HI Jo and Roger

    Hi Irene
We had Empire come in and were unimpressed. The "Salesman" did not listen to what we said IMO. We said we were interested in a Prefinished Wood for the Kitchen, I understand that the factory applied coatings are tough and what he kept showing and pushing was some sort of Laminate with a really thin top layer that could not be refinished whereas what we were interested in has a thicker layer of wood that can be sanded and refinished if needed.
I hope You experience is better, OTH if I were selling the house what he was pushing looked good and was not to expensive. I had the feeling that the "Salesman" was a new one and not very good at the job.

I know I would hate to have to repaint the entire house, My brother and I started to paint the large back bedroom and quickly decided to bring someone in to do it. Between the having to move everything into the center and cover it and TBH some of that was really heavy too we spent the money.

I gather that NJ is more restrictive on how a house can be left that other states. I see the differences on some of the House flipping type shows.

Congratulations on the walking. It seems that You walk faster than I, Part of my slowness is related to stopping to use Kleenex as the cold weather makes my nose run so I find a convenient perch to sit on for that and to have a place to put the walking stick and cup of coffee :)

I hope Your power stayed on, We had no problem here although in parts of the state there were outages including some a short distance away. From what the news said they were weather related.

    Have a Good Day

    Good afternoon;
It is raining steadily here and supposed to get heavier later into the evening. I hope there isn't too much flooding.
Vix-I am glad to hear your ultrasound results were fine. Have you decided what your next painting will be?
    Hi Irene.
    Enjoy your afternoon. :)

    Hi Vix

    Hi Joanne
Our weather was on and off rain all day, More on than off FWIW. I saw no real flooding where I am, I am not surprised by that as the Neighborhood does nor seem to flood, Some parts of town do flood closing major roads during really bad weather. Sometimes the flooding closes all but one way in and out of town, OTOH it is not as bad as some areas nearby such as Manville and Bound Brook. The Army Core of Engineers has been building flood prevention walls to prevent that.

    Good morning.
Roger, colder here than NJ...it's about 29 now. It rained a lot last night, woke up with a dusting of snow this morning.
Good that you're almost finished painting Irene.
Jo, not sure what my next painting project will be. I think I'd like to do an acrylic. I've been doing a lot of watercolor. Hope you didn't get any flooding.
No plans for today. Need to clean the bathrooms, such fun. And maybe try that exercise program online.
    Happy Saturday, everyone. :)

    Good morning;
After yesterday morning waking up to 61 degrees, we are now down to 18. The rain got rid of all the snow. I am hearing that by mid week we will be getting more snow.
I tried to stay up to watch the football game last night, but only made it through the first quarter. My Patriots did win. :)
Today I plan on doing much needed housework.
Roger-Last time I hired someone to paint. In my opinion it was worth the money, since neither one of us likes to paint.
    Vix-good luck with the acrylic.
    Have a super Sunday! :)

Still more humor and a Bonus (?) Historical Picture at the end

    Hi
I'm back from walking this Morning + 1 Cent. The temperature this morning was 15 on the porch and 16 on the cable news channel. There was a bit of a wind chill and that means that despite the three layers I still felt a bit of a chill towards the end of my walk.

    Hi Vix
Our Saturday High temperature in the 50s was just after Midnight as the day was starting and from there on through the day it went down. Last night it was 35 at 10 PM and this morning it was 15 and cloudless :(
This morning I haven't raised the Window shade on the window next to me as I can feel the cold from it through the shade. We do need to get the other windows updated for energy saving. So far working our way through piecemeal we changed the Picture Window in the Living Room and the Front and Side Doors which helped.

No contest, Cleaning the Bathrooms is my least favorite thing followed by cleaning the Kitchen.

You experienced what we did on Saturday too with a steadily lowering temps, with a lower waking up temperature however.

I used to up to Midnight for years, Now I run out of steam by 10PM :(

Hiring someone to finish the painting and some other minor work was worth the money, if it were just my brother and I painting the big bedroom at the rate we were going it would have been over a weeks disruption.

    Enjoy the Day

There was no wind when I left the house, On the return leg of my walking there was a intermittent breeze that sprang up and that means that despite wearing layers I still felt a bit of a chill towards the end of my walk.

    Hi Vix
Just curious, In Your area do they prefer carpets or Hardwood floors ?
I know if I were buying anything with carpets they would have to be new carpets :)
Does that make me fastidious ?

That means that despite being south of me you were colder :(

With anything expensive and TBH even inexpensive items anymore I look for reviews to see how things are. OTOH someone that is all over like Empire I suspect that in some areas they do a great job and in others...

    Good morning;
We are currently having snow flurries.
Roger-I found 1 penny yesterday. I prefer hardwood floors. I think they are easier to maintain than carpet.
Vix-I have been doing the exercises for a week now and I can feel the difference in my back and leg muscles. I am not as achy.
Today I have to take Sophie to the vet for a blood test. She was due in Oct., but with Vinny having problems around that time, I had to postpone her visit.
I also have to exchange some pants at Kohl's and bring some donations to Salvation Army.
    Hi Irene.

    Good morning.
Roger, I prefer hardwood floors. I had 2 small bedrooms in my old house with carpet. In my new house, the only carpet I have is on the stairs to the basement. I put extra padding in them, mostly in case of falls....less painful to fall on padded carpet than wood! I think many people prefer hardwood, but some like carpet especially for bedrooms because it's warmer in winter.
11 degrees here this a.m. forecast of 31 as a high for today.
Jo, I am going to keep up with those exercises. I really think they will be helpful, especially when my PT is over. I also looked at the nutrition intro...touted whole/clean foods which I am mostly doing....I let some packaged food (like dried cranberries) in, but need to cut out the "natural flavors" again. Glad you are not as achy! :) Hope Sophie is doing well. Glad Vinny is doing better.
    Hi Irene!
I have a massage scheduled for this morning, then 30 minutes of reflexology this afternoon. I am checking out the reflexology to see if that seems helpful.
Have a great day, everyone.

    Hi Joanne
I agree, Hardwood floors are easier to clean, OTOH Carpets are warmer underfoot in the winter and easier on the feet :) Pluses and Minuses to both, I tend to prefer easier to maintain.

We have a probability of snow for Tomorrow later in the afternoon.

Hopefully Sophie's Blood test results are OK.

I wonder what a place like Kohl's does with exchanged clothes ?

That is a good place to donate IMO.

    Have a safe, warm day

    Hi Again
Wowsers, 11 degrees, I thought our 15 was cold. All good points with were to use carpet.

My one aunt for many years had a weekly appointment where the reflexology person would come to the house with a type of vibrator and do different areas of the feet to treat different areas of the body. If nothing else I can see where it would be relaxing.

The Breakfast I will be having in a little while, So far I had a banana before I walked, a protein Shake on my return and this will be a 300 calorie item, A bit high so I will compensate for it at lunch or dinner.

    Hi
I'm back from walking again and no cents. The YTD money found is 14 Cents. The temperature this morning was 25 on the porch and 26 on the cable news channel, That is higher than yesterdays temps.
There is snow in the forecast and it appears that where I am the forecast is for 1 to 3 inches of a heavy snowfall. The forecast is for snow to start this afternoon, However looking out the window I see some white flakes blowing past the window.

I do not blame You, I was wishing I had thought to put on the Thermals under the walking pants on Monday as I could feel the cold in my legs, especially when the wind gusted, Today being a bit warmer I was OK.

That makes perfect sense to me as a reason to use Empire.

There is snow in the forecast and it appears that where I am the forecast is for 1 to 3 inches of a heavy snowfall. The forecast was for snow to start yesterday afternoon, However it did not happen. This morning there was a light rain falling that turned into a mix of rain and snow and then to snow while I was walking, Somewhere around 6AM and by the time I arrived home the sidewalks and streets were turning white.

Hi. Busy all day with stained glass, clay, PT. It's about 34 now, but cooling overnight, Snow expected around 8:30 p.m. for a couple of hours....we'll see.
Have a good night, everyone. Stay warm.

    Hi Vix
Our snow that was originally forecast for a Tuesday afternoon start was way late as it arrived This morning while I was walking. Which makes me wonder if Your snow was also delayed ?

You do seem to keep busy.
I did not have a great night as I woke up around 4:30 and could not get back to sleep so I was out the door early. That actually worked out OK as I missed being out in the snow for all but the last 10 blocks of my walking.

    Have a Nice Safe Day
    Roger

    Good morning;
The snow is just starting to fall and is supposed to change to rain and then snow again.
It will be a slushy mess when I am coming home from work.
I am all prepared. I have my boots, scarf, hat and mittens all packed in my work bag.
Wow, Vix you did have a busy day.
Irene-Did you get the computer room finished?
Roger-I hope you don't get the flu, sending healthy vibes.
We are having a visit from one of the bigwigs today. They wanted to see a new store and since ours was the last remodel, we got chosen. Aren't we lucky. :p So this morning everyone will be scrambling around to get everything looking good.
Have a great day and stay safe! :)

    Hi Joanne
I have kept a Spare Commercially made Quilt and a shovel in the trunk just in case for many, many years. I only needed the shovel once back in the 70s. OTOH if I had not had it I would have been stuck. And I did use the Quilt in the early 90s when the I got snowed in at work and there was no way any of us were getting the cars out of the lot until it was plowed which happened the next day.

I am keeping my fingers crossed too, I did Add two extra Vitamin C pills to my lunch yesterday and I shall do likewise today :)

I hated having the owner come in and hang around when I was working in the computer store. The original first two owners were OK, then when the second of them sold out I could not wait to retire :(

    Good Luck at Work
    Roger

    Hi Irene
Are You getting any snow where You are ? The forecast I saw showed mostly rain for South Jersey

    Good morning.
I was up early too, but didn't want to get out of bed!
    Hope you stay well, Roger!
    Stay safe and warm, Jo.
    Irene...wow! almost done. :)
We had a dusting of snow overnight. It's 20 and cloudy here, not very inviting to go out. I'll see how I feel later.
    Happy Wednesday, everyone. :)

Good morning, well we are getting snow now it looks like just a dusting. We did go out and walked we did extra today I ended doing 1 hr and 40 minutes it was like a light drizzle but I had a rain coat on and it was almost 40 outside . As far as the painting almost done in the computer room on e little coroner is left than on to the laundry room not in a hurry to get that room done it already has carpeting in there so we won't be replacing it. Take care all and stay dry. Roger hope you don't get sick!
