    Good morning.
Sorry about your car, Jo. Good that no one was hurt. Hope your niece and family are all safe.
Irene, nice that you visit the hospital.
Roger, those fires are very devastating. And most cities have homeless problems. There were homeless people in Bar Harbor which is a tiny little town, with lots of wealthy people. Things in this country are askew.
Seems the hurricane was downgraded though may still be lots of damage from all the rain.
Cloudy with a high of 76 today here. No special plans.
    Happy Friday, everyone.

good morning, when we walked this morning everything was wet but it wasn't raining . Today I get to go visit the hospital and then off to food shopping . Hey Roger Costco has ns gift cards on sale until the end of the month. take care everyone.
    Hi Irene
Wet but nothing falling from the sky is OK, Not great but OK.Congratulations on the walking.

Thank You for the heads up I do need a few cards as I think I have one unused and one partially used card and the next NS order is delayed until near the end of October.
hey Roger just bought a ns gift card on line it was really easy

I usually do buy mine online. I think CostCo does still take checks so I could just take the checkbook to the nearby CostCo and buy them that was for a change, OTOH having activity on the credit cards is always good too. And having gotten them down to where when I make my Payments I am now paying them in full. Total balance as of my last email notification has the grand total under $300

    Have a Good Day

Roger-I am about 1 1/2 hours away from there. My niece lives in No. Andover and had to evacuate. She is staying with my sister (her mother).
The squirrels do a good job eating my flowers and digging holes in my lawn.
I had my car inspected at the body shop and they have to order parts. When the parts come in it will take 3 days to repair. Since cars now a day are mostly plastic, the inside paneling on the hatchback in all cracked. I never even noticed it when I opened the hatch. They also may find other damage as they take the bumper off. I was stopped in a line of traffic, when I was hit, so the other vehicle wasn't going very fast.
    Hi Irene.
    Hi Vix.
    Have a great day. :)
    Hi Joanne
I was wondering if You were near that, Good for You and bad for Your Niece :(

Those Darn Tree Rats are destructive. I suspect they are what has been eating the end off of the Plum Tomatoes and other foods such as the Blackberries. You really do not want them getting into the attic, they chew on everything. We had some Wood lamps in the Shed and they totaled them by gnawing on them :(

I had a Coworker whose one week old car got damaged and the repairs took forever due to the body shop finding more and more hidden damage and each time the insurance company had to inspect and approve going further, I hope Your experience is better. Does Your or the rear ending cars insurance provide a rental car ?

The modern cars bumpers are damaged by a light tap that may not even show any visible damage .

    Good Luck

    Hi Vix
As far as I know we do not have homeless here in town. I hope it stays that way. They seem to be at the root of much of the crime from what I see across the river in NYC and Long Island.

Hopefully the Damage from the Hurricane is not as bad as they were predicting before it hit land.

It appears that we will be having a nice day today and Sunday, Whee.

    Hello Vix
I did a Quick Grocery Store Run and had to run the wipers and rear defroster to get the condensation off of the windows before setting out. I had a short bit of a mist on the drive back, not enough to run the wipers and my brother ran into something similar on his trip to Pennsylvania for some sort of event.

    Hello Irene
When I was rear ended it did not take real long, I let the dealer do it, They had to order sheet metal and they gave me a Loaner car free of charge so It worked out OK.

I do not know what can be done about the Homeless, According to something I read some of them prefer being on the street to a shelter :(
I am somewhat surprised that You have homeless in Browns Mills, I would have thought the older cities with a higher density was where that problem was for the most part.

Does that mean that You will have two Mowers now ?
Good Luck getting the yard work done, at least the weather is not too bad.

    Good morning.
The forecast is mostly cloudy with a high of 80. The sun is trying to peek out. We are meeting some friends for lunch. That'll be nice. Give us a chance to catch up.
When I recently bumped my front fender in my garage, I was really happy that I have Geiko insurance. Very friendly and efficient. They had a rental car waiting for me, and I had my car back in 2 days (before the holiday weekend.)
I believe that some of the homeless problems are related to mental health problems. There are agencies and shelters to help out, but they can't reach all of them with what they need. That's one of the reasons affordable medical care is so important. And human kindness.
    Happy Sunday, everyone.

    Good morning;
Well, today is the last day of my vacation. :( I enjoyed being home.
Yesterday was a beautiful day. Hubby and I went out to breakfast and then to a flea market.
Hubby bought a few tools, but I didn't find anything. I then skyped with my son and daughter-in-law. They are doing a family tree and had lots of questions. My brain was on overload trying to remember names and dates.
Nothing planned for today, just relaxing and enjoying my last day of vacation.
    Have a great day. :)

I just posted more humor, Now to get tomorrows setup ready to post.

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and one thin dime found. The Temperature out the door was 65 degrees. The Humidity is the same as yesterdays. When I out the door I could see a partly cloudy sky and I could see stars in the clear area of the sky. As I was walking the stars disappeared behind clouds that had moved in. According to the weather forecast the Clouds are remnants of Florence and Rain should be moving in later today through tomorrow with occasional Thunderstorms.

Yesterday the high temperature was in the mid 80s...

    ENsDc6.png

    A Little Humor now:
A software developer, a hardware engineer and a mid-level manager were on their way to a conference center located near the top of a mountain. After the conference, they were driving down the steep mountain road and suddenly the brakes on their car failed. The car careened almost out of control down the road, bouncing off the crash barriers, until it miraculously ground to a halt scraping along the mountainside. The car's occupants, shaken but unhurt, now had a problem: they were stuck halfway down a mountain in a car with no brakes. What were they to do?
The manager said, "Let's have a meeting, propose a Vision, formulate a Mission Statement, define some Goals, and by a process of Continuous Improvement find a solution to the Critical Problems, and we can be on our way."
"No, no," said the hardware engineer. "That will take far too long, and besides, that method has never worked before. I've got my Swiss Army knife with me, and in no time at all I can strip down the car's braking system, isolate the fault, fix it, and we can be on our way."
"Well," said the software developer, "Before we do anything, I think we should push the car back to the top of the mountain and see if it happens again."

Is that the Same knee from Amazon ?
That makes sense to me, Division of labor and all that. I'm also guessing Gas powered rather than Electric where You need to be careful with the cord.

One of my Neighbors has a Electric Mower that is rechargeable battery powered. It is not silent like You would think.

No doubt in my mind that many of the homeless are drug users or alcoholics. One problem with them is that many turn to crime to feed the habits.

You may not have found anything at the flea market, however You saved money that way.

Once again, Humor has just been posted

    Hi
I'm back home from walking and no cents found. The Temperature out the door was 75 degrees 10 degrees warmer than yesterday. When I left the house it was dry outside which is why I decided to go walking. About 30 minutes into the walk I took shelter under a tree while I struggled with the rain Poncho which was giving me problems due to the breeze. I ended up turning for home at that point and the rain became moderately heavy :(
According to the weather forecast the remnants of Florence AKA Leftovers according to the weather forecast will become worse as the day progresses with 1 to 2 inches of rain.

Yesterday was a day of good and bad news. The good, the scale is treating me OK. The weather was not too bad and I ordered 5 NS gift cards from CostCo where they are on sale at $59.95 for $100 face Value, Thank You Irene for the heads up.
The Bad happened when my Brother went to dry a load of clothes and all the dryer did was give off a loud AC Hum and not spin. The Most likely candidate is that the motor has seized, less likely would be a bad bearing in a Pulley or a belt tensioning pulley, since I was fine when I dried my last load the other day... :(
A new dryer is likely in the near future since neither of us wants to use a laundromat dryer.

Yesterday my brother said I need to pick up the apple that fell off of the tree and see how it tastes. That is the first one since they were planted  He did not realize that the protective anti deer cage was loose against the fence he thought it was secured hence asking me to get it. Something had damaged it in two spots and teeny tiny ants were all over it. I used the knife we keep in the garden to cut off the damage and that got rid of the ants. It was pretty tasty too. Now if next year we get more than one

    Hi Vix
My aunt kept a detailed Family tree, Where it went when she entered a nursing home is likely the trash as I suspect many things she had collected, according to my youngest brother her home was broken into more than once and ransacked, Then the state took it to cover the nursing home costs once her savings ran out :(

I'm not sure I would want to do anything like that online, privacy concerns for me.

I did see the occasional lightning flash while I was walking, they must have been far off as I never heard any thunder. They had a Microburst in a nearby town overnight with lots of trees down a 500+ power outages.

If it makes them happy why not
