I'm starting a 6 week session with a new trainer this morning so I just hope I don't embarrass myself!2

Thanks guys. It was a good session I think. He already knew how strong I was because he's seen me workout before and my previous trainer used to brag about me.....LOL.
I think he'll be able to help me get back to where I was and maybe stronger with some of the exercises he's having me do. My ultimate goal is to put these injuries behind me so I can move forward. We'll see how it goes and he's at least listening to me.
I think he had some good ideas especially regarding squats and bench press. I'm probably going to replace OHP with something else because we just don't think my shoulder can handle that. There are work arounds though.

Nice!! One of the advantages of having a trainer is the extra guidance for dealing with legacy injuries.
In my case, it was becoming evident my shoulder wasn't getting better. This led me to get a referral to a sports medicine specialist... who did a thorough assessment and diagnosed a nerve impingement in my neck around C5/6. The sports med MD prescribed physiotherapy, massage and having an ergonomic assessment of my workstation... The combination of having my seat set up wrong (too high) and changes to my keyboard (split keyboard in a lower position) reduced the pressure on my neck and corrected my typing posture. Things are getting better slowly although the toughest part is relearning how to type. As the shoulder slowly improves, the trainer is adding more shoulder work... ugh...0 -
I despise the split keyboards. We only had a few in the lab and, as I was the computer troubleshooter, I had to jump from split to regular and back.
So glad my post-retirement job requires spinning wrenches rather than pounding keyboards.2 -
I've spent a whole lotta time on keyboards and relearning how to type isn't as easy as it sounds... especially since I routine revert to laptops at work and normal keyboards at home...2

Today I'm hoping to get right back to my routine. Spent one afternoon celebrating 38 years of marriage and the next working about 14 hours on what was supposed to be our day off since we recently went to a 4 day work week..............oh well, the best laid plans and all that.
Taking the dog out for a run/walk, mostly run I hope!1 -

I want to stay the course and hit two weeks on my plan after 2 months of back and forth messing up. This was day 3. Tomorrow I go back on the scale to face up to the damage done and will go forward from there. I'm guessing 15-20 pounds gained back from a 130 pound total. We'll see. No matter what it is, I plan to deal with it and no more excuses.

Congrats on the 6 pounds! I apologize for what ever that gobbledygook was. I started typing and that showed up and it wouldn't let me erase or delete it. Weird.2

Today, I'm going to get through the same workout my trainer gave me on Wed even though my arms and shoulders are still a little sore.....
Fridays are just like Saturdays here now since I convinced my husband we needed to go to a 4 day work week and so we're enjoying the extra time to do things together, besides work, and will be going out this afternoon for a movie and then dinner.0 -
Went fishing with my grandson. The black flays got more bites than we did, but had a great time anyway.

For those who are not aware, the black flies in Canada are persistent and nasty... bad enough that we write songs about them... I kid you not!!

I live in Horsetown USA, seriously, so I know all about black flies. They're better now than they used to be though because all the dairies are gone and have been replaced with houses, apartments and condominiums. I wouldn't mind going back to the time before that though.
Today..........I'm getting myself to the gym and doing the workout my trainer gave me. I didn't get much sleep last night but hopefully the green tea and protein shake will kick in by the time I get there.1 -

The Sunday teacher obviously doesn't want to be there. I took her class a bunch of times, gave her a really good try, then decided to cut my losses.
Just don't know if I should say something to her, that's all.
