That was an interesting article about school start dates. Only one school on the Cape starts before Labor Day/ It would have been a big mental adjustment for me to start before Labor Day but getting out around Memorial Day is very appealing. Good luck with the cat show.

We started in mid-August last year and go out on June 19 because of having to make up days missed because of snow. We have already started for teachers with prep days, in-service, etc. with the students starting next week. With the recent years having so much bad weather, they are trying to get in as many instructional days as possible before bad weather. This was a very short Summer break.

Hopefully with the changes, they'll avoid so many snow days wiping out the planned end date. It's probably easier to start a little earlier than go extra weeks of makeup.

Something happened to my computer overnight. My version of Google must have been out of date and I was prompted to log in to the new version. The problem is I had my passwords saved for frequently used sites and I don't remember them. What a pain in the neck. I got on with Explorer but none of my shortcuts are displaying on the desk top. I had to reset a couple of passwords and I even forgot my user name for this site. I had the reminder sent to my email. I had thought the user name was my email address. I saw my user name for the last 80 plus days but do you think I could remember it without assistance? No! I hope the rest of my day goes better.

Helene - what a PITA! Sometimes I think the little man in the computer is a sadist (and yes it's a man LOL!)

I'm very sore today. 4 1/2 hours standing on a concrete floor yesterday does a job on my knees and ankles and somehow I forgot to wear my "special" shoes and socks which sometimes helps a little. But the good news is we're all set up. We take a bigger space at this show than any other show during the year which is why it took so long to set up. 12 tables of treasures that hopefully folks will buy! And what was interesting was we got it all into 2 vans to transport.

I hope you sell lots of stuff. Nothing worse than having to reload the van with almost as much as you brought. Do you just sell pet items or is it more lot a flea market with all kinds of donated items?

I had to update Google yesterday and have many of the sites I use email me a password link so I could change everything with new passwords. That's because I had my computer remember me at log in . That got wiped out when I couldn't get into Google and didn't carry over. Passwords are such a pain. You're not suppose to write them down, you have to make them hard to guess and each site is suppose to be different. No wonder I have trouble remembering them. I'm the only one using my laptop so I do have the computer remember passwords Let's hope the little man in the computer is through messing me up for a while.

Helene--I have most of my passwords to valuable sites saved. What gets me about some passwords is that some require you to use a special character, etc. Now, if a key sticks, etc. then you don't know if the password is being entered correctly until you get the message of incorrect password. Personally, I would like to see the password displayed as it is being typed.

Maryanne--I hope with all that preparation, you do sell all those treasures. Standing on concrete for several hours can really do a number on the knees, etc.

Helene - at cat shows, we just sell cat stuff. Books, prints, toys (loads of toys because we know we can always sell those to the breeders so even if they don't advertise and get much of the public coming in we'll sell some), and knick knacks. We used to be primarily a t-shirt vendor but we morphed into more of a toy vendor because toys need replaced much more often than tshirts.

I'm exhausted. The person who was coming to help pack yesterday had a problem with her watch. She thought she was arriving on time - and she was according to her watch - but not according to the real time!

    We did pretty well.

Maryanne...I hope you had a lot less stuff to pack up than you originally unpacked. Jean...Those passwords are such a pain. I hate the ones where you have to use letters and numbers, upper and lower case. And it would be helpful if you could see the characters as you type. You never know if you typed the wrong password or if you made a typo, I went back to something I used to make for breakfast years ago, It's a pseudo danish. I toasted 2 slices of bread, spread a teaspoon of pineapple cottage cheese on top and popped it in the microwave for 30 seconds. I diced a half apricot on top of each slice and sprinkled it with a little cinnamon. It was delicious. I would have put it on a sandwich thin but I couldn't find them. I know I picked up a pack at the market yesterday but they either didn't make it into my bag or it's buried behind something in the refrigerator. So I made due with toast.

Maryanne--I love it. Market analysis applied to cat shows. Sell what needs to be bought more often!! Sorry you had a problem with the packing up. Watches do that at times.

Helene--The pseudo Danish sounds like a great option. I've misplaced things I've thought I had bought. I've even checked the sales slip before going on a search.

I should get my NS order tomorrow. I also will be in the city tomorrow for an appointment with the cardiologist, a hair appointment and a very late lunch with a cousin.

I'm headed to Virginia with Jack today. They want to recheck his x-rays. It's always something it seems.

We're back! As usual Jack was a purrfect gentleman.

Today's DH and my 42nd wedding anniversary so I raided the freezer for steaks and sides.

We're not far behind you. Our 43rd anniversary is next month. It's a beautiful day today after all day rain yesterday. I guess we needed the rain but I didn't want to go out in it. I've got a massage this afternoon and I'll do errands on the way home.

I met Bonnie at the storage unit and unloaded her, went to the drugstore, the bank and then the grocery store. Sometimes I get tired of grocery shopping. If I'm being good, it's like buying the same thing every week, week in, week out.

Anniversaries are important celebrations. Congratulations to Maryanne on her anniversary and also to Helene for her upcoming anniversary.

I had an appointment with the cardiologist yesterday. If the insurance approves, I'll be wearing a heart monitor 24/7 for 3 weeks. If no rhythm problems are detected, they may take me off the blood thinner but I would still need to take the other 2 heart meds.

Maryanne--Grocery shopping is boring, but is easier if you buy the same thing nearly all the time.

Helene--I tried those cranberry bites you mentioned. Those are a great snack for the evening.

Sun is shining but I'm dragging. The kiddies are in school!

This is funny. I got my new shipment from NS. I was digging through the box when I discovered a goal bear. Duh!! Someone either has a missing bear or the statistics on Numi fouled up the day I was checking it out.

Goal bear!! Score! I have one of those. It's one that's never been out of the closet. Poor thing.

Goal Bear! I've heard rumors of those but have never seen one. LOL. Jean...Good luck with the heart monitor. It would be great if you could get off the blood thinners. What's your best guess of how long it will be until you get your first call to sub this year? I'll bet it's before Labor Day.

I actually have a client meeting today. I usually avoid those like the plague because conference calls are so much more efficient but I caved.

Maryanne--I hope the meeting goes well. I have mixed feelings about conference calls; sometimes, you miss out on some of the facial non-verbal messages.

It is a beautiful sunny day, so I'm venturing out.

Maryanne...I just started a new book you might like. It's called Storm Murders by John Farrow, It puts me in mine of the Dave Guerney books.

Helene - I'll have to check that out. I've gotten so behind on books because I've been reading some older books on the kindle.

Got good news on Jack - at least the first radiologist who looked at his recheck x-rays sees no lung nodule. The internist still wants the original radiologist to take a look but he's on vacation.

That's great that Jack seems to be getting a good report. I think I picked up a stomach bug yesterday. Shortly after lunch, I felt lousy and realized I was probably going to be sick to my stomach. I made it to the bathroom with seconds to spare! I spent most of the afternoon napping. I tried some soup before bedtime and that stayed with me. I didn't bother logging meals but I know I was way below my limit. I hope whatever that was is only a 24 hour bug.

Maryanne--Good news about Jack. We need good news for a change.

Helene--Sorry about the stomach bug. I do hope you feel better soon.

I think the next time I place an order that I might increase the number of those cranberry bites. Those are really good and make for a good snack in the evening instead of breakfast.

Sorry I've been MIA this week. I do check in to see what is going on with all of you, but I usually do it in the mornings before leaving for the gym. I always think I'll post something after I get back home, but the day gets away from me and I end up forgetting to come back and post. And then the next day I do it all over again.

I made it to the gym four times this week and I feel good about that. I'm really trying for more consistency in that area, but it is a struggle. It doesn't take much for me to cancel a workout. My buddy and I have talked about this and we are trying harder to keep our commitment to ourselves and each other.

Yesterday I baked and decorated a birthday cake for a friend who is in my book club. Another friend hosted dinner for the club last night and we had a lot of fun, as usual. Another of the ladies is about to become a grandmother for the first time, so we each brought a children's book for her library. She was very happily surprised and pleased by them.

Today I'm resting and relaxing. I was on my feet a lot yesterday while baking and decorating the cake and that always makes my back a bit "touchy" the next day.

Helene, I'm sorry you're not feeling well. I hope by now it has passed, no pun intended!

Jean, it's hard to believe that schools have already started in your area. I think the kids go back next week around here, but I'm not sure what day. There are several different ISD's around here and they don't all start on the same day, so it can be a little confusing.

Maryanne, I'm glad you got good news about Jack. You're the best pet owner I know as far as going the extra mile for the health and wellbeing of all your pets.

Pam..I echo kudos on getting to the gym so many days a week. I've always had problems with being consistent on exercise. I'm sure that's a big part of my struggle but I can't seem to commit to doing what you're doing.

Me three on the skipping exercise part. On the one hand, I really need to do it. On the other hand, after 65 years as a sedentary bookworm it's tough.

Exercise? What can I say? I burn calories preparing the food, etc. I know I should be doing it and once did, but actually gained weight doing it. I got out of the habit last year when working as I got in a lot of steps at work but this Summer has been a different story. Yes, it is rough getting back into the exercise mode. They say to find something you enjoy and you will do it. Well, I guess I'm still looking; if it isn't part of the other things I do, exercise doesn't leap out as a priority.

I enjoyed Curves but they went out of business in my area. I like water exercise and can do that half the year in FL.There are no really convenient water exercise class near me on the Cape. I have a treadmill on the Cape but it's so boring I have a hard time making myself use it. I'm heading back to my book. My exercise will be turning the pages. LOL
