@ObesityWarrior had lithium worked for you in the past? Not to be too personal

I have not been on the prescription lithium before, I was on Sodium valproate which did not work and lamotrigine which made me worse and aripiprazole which did not work and lots of other things I can not remember. I have tried Lithium orotate which can be purchased from amazon, I heard good things about it but did not work for me. Now I should be starting Lithium carbonate which is the big pharma stuff that gets prescribed. I am not optimistic but will give it a try when/if my blood tests confirm my liver/thyroid are healthy enough to take it. For now I am only taking Quetiapine which enables me to sleep and reduces psychotic symptoms but does not stop the mood swings at all. I am 35 now and was first assessed for mental health issues when I was 12, so I do not hold out much hope of a medical help working to be honest. I think my soul, mind and brain are just too damaged. I feel duty bound to try everything offered though and you never know maybe one day things will change for better. I am just frazzled I think from lifes traumas and seem to exist on the very edge of my coping limit so regularly fall over the edge with every little stressor. I have tried most things. I have had herbal remedies, acupuncture, spiritual healing, I even sat on top of a mountain in India and meditated on 3 different trips. I have tried the celibate vegan inner peace daily hours of meditation, I have also went totally the other direction and went wild. I did the get married and settle down thing. I did the get dumped and divorced thing. I did the free love thing. I feel I have covered most possibilities of how I might find healing. Ps had loads of therapy too,

I should have been doing aquafit tonight, but my car is now at the garage with a punctured tyre so I'm stranded :-1:

Just about 6 miles in total today, including an after work 4 mile walk with my colleagues. We're all doing a sponsored 10km (6.2 miles) walk in July, so this was 'training', and also a reason for us to just be out of the office together. I actually really enjoyed it.

I found a local health walks group so went out with them today. I think it was around two miles country walking through varied terrain with hills so felt like more.

I got a fitness tracker a couple days ago, and have been figuring that out. I've found that it has helped motivate me throughout the day as well.

@ObesityWarrior I was first diagnosed with bipolar disorder when I was about 15 years old after a short stay in the psych Hospital and I've been on a variety of medications since then. lithium was one of the first medications I was on and for many people it is kind of a miracle drug and helps them tremendously my only worry is that you had mentioned that you are a quick cycling bipolar. I am also a quick cycling bipolar and lithium is designed for a slow cycling bipolar it may work for you and trust me I hope it does but please take that into consideration if they start trying to adjust the amounts a lot you may want to talk to them about a lot of anticonvulsant medications that are also used for bipolar disorder. These medications like Depakote and Latuda have had a lot of success with quick cycling bipolar. once again whatever ultimately works for you works for you. Ive just done a lot of research and would like to share the knowledge that I have with you and I wish you all the luck

Two lazy days (one was a planned rest day, the other was derailed by a planned event), but tonight was a MASSIVE workout at the gym. Awesome workout.

It amazes me just how much activity you all do. Nearly killed me just cleaning out my bathroom yesterday.

I haven't done any official activity for a week and a half, but I did a lot of housework yesterday and if sweating and short of breath means your burning fat, then I burned loads!

Going to try and do another hour of housework after work today. Tomorrow night I will be at Aquafit. But as it will be the last Tuesday night class and then I will only have Thursday night, I am going to have to find another activity to do in its place.
