Scale, why should I dump thee? Let me count the ways....

I moved my fickle scale from a flat surface in my basement to a flat surface in my kitchen - a 3.5-lb difference. Hurrrumph.
Both readings were heavier than the one at my doctor's office the same day.
Fickle, and spiteful to boot. Don't trust them!

Lol I don't take my scale too seriously. I have to climb on it 3-5 times to make sure I get the "right" number. Because it sometimes measures 2-3lbs heavier for no reason. And I don't even move mine.
I do have a goal number in mind. But that's just an idea for the sake of having a goal.
I'll go by clothing size. At least I know what size I'd like to be.3 -
Ha! I'm with you there, @Shadowmf023. On a good day, I can squeeze....er, imagine myself squeezing into all sorts of slim outfits and launching my own Incredible Shrinking Man clothing line.5

Jeez...what a horrible name for a clothing line...2 -
Y'all are hilarious!!!
Lately I have loved my scale! But of course that is not always the case! We have a serious semi-dysfunctional love/hate relationship going on!2 -
@dmariet116 - If you're in a scale-lovin' way, you've made it to Slim St. Congrats!2

@Shadowmf023 - I was only kidding! (Really just going to call it ISM )1

Lol the name you chose made me think of a select few men. But it wasn't because of their body size. At least, not their upper body size...4 -
@RalfLott Not quite made it; another 37 lbs to go. I know the weight loss will slow so when it does I will definitely be breaking up with my scale!2
-
FYI, it's usually a good idea to keep your bath water above 50 degrees.1

@dmariet116 - Yeah, there is a certain fatigue factor that sets in. But stick with it and that new fur/convertible/magic bullet will be yours!1

Dress - it's gonna be a dress. I really need to start wearing them because short hair and jeans and tshirts apparently makes me look like a boy according to some people.... **looks down at boobies** .......5 -
Hmm.... Are you hanging out in pre-schools, cemeteries, or a school for the blind?3

He must have been reading our scale-hating minds (not including yours, @dmariet116....)

This post made me laugh! Thank you for the cultured humour. Scales are something.. Here's my question. I weigh 10pounds less than I did last week. Eventhough I've limited carbs to 20-30 grams for two weeks now, I don't trust my scale. Is it possible to lose 10pounds in one week?1

@starseed777 - Yes! It's the first foothills where you tend to lose the most water weight (and why reducing often goes more quickly at first).
So..... yes, today only, trust your scale. Then kiss it tenderly, and consign it to a dumpster in some remote part of town!
Instead, get out your tape measure, as Butter Bob suggests, and you'll see constant, gradual reduction in your proportions, regardless how much water you're retaining (or not).
Good luck!

@RalfLott I love Butter Bob!!!3

Yeah, he's great. There are only a few of his vids I haven't really liked, which is unusual, and he's not trying to peddle supplements, proprietary fasting programs, magic copper underwear, etc.
I appreciate the earnest, informal talking and the absence of those da*ned white lab coats. He's a smart guy, and his horizons are wider than you'd imagine at first listen.3 -
Anyone else try the scale in a dozen places in the house to find that perfect spot where you weigh the least?
No? Just me?7 -
*crickets*
LOL Just kidding! I haven't done that, but I have zero'd mine out a couple of times and even changed the batteries when I didn't like what it had to say, just in case it was fubar'd...2 -

Mine's in the bathroom near the sink. If I'm not really careful, I might end up leaning on the sink....4 -
I just keep it in the same spot. And get nekkid. Every morning. And then get on and off three times. It's my morning ritual! Lol
Going back to my crazy corner now!7 -
I keep away from the scale, weighing in 3-4 times a month. I find my sanity worth holding onto...lol. So, whilst my scale collects dust-weeds under the counter in the bathroom....I grab a piece of clothing I haven't worn in a while and try it on. Lately, I have been rewarded with mini victories! Yesterday, I put on a pair of scrubs that were super tight many weeks ago, now they hang loosely on my body.7

Are you still following this nekkid ritual?1 -

Yeah, my scrub pants re getting baggy and they're elastic waisted, no drawstring. With all the crap I carry in the pockets, I am constantly hitching them up. I figure if I get down another 15 lbs or so I can get a couple pairs next size down.6 -

Lol I do the same morning ritual.
