Sorry I was quiet yesterday, we let my Uncle Brian go Sunday evening and Monday just felt like a day to be quiet and reflect on life. He went peacefully and quickly and didn't suffer. My mom, dad, aunt, and sister were there in the room with him. My husband, daughter, and I weren't there because my hubby wasn't feeling well so we stayed home, but I have peace about letting him go. I got to say goodbye earlier this week, and I am glad that his body and soul is now at rest. Please pray for my family as we adjust to life without my uncle. Thank you!

For challenge 3, I am going to give up soda again! I keep giving this nasty devil up and then it pops back into my life again! :grimace: Specific soda that I am drawn to at the moment is Coke Zero. But, I will give up all sodas for the week and hope that this is the start of a wonderful new habit for myself! Good luck to all those giving up chocolate this week!

So sorry, for the confusion guys. I do believe I read it wrong (cough medicine made my brain addled.) I am just amazed at how well you guys are doing, and keeping each other on track. Thanks everyone for stepping up, while I have been not quite all here. Luckily, I have been released from all restrictions, except pelvic exercises (Why don't they just say sexual activities, Oh I guess you can do other exercises. LOL) . I am back at work, got my phone back and ready to cheer you all on.

Diet coke fan. I had to give it up because of stomach issues. Feel way better for it!

@trkyvic0327 I'm so sorry to hear about your Uncle Brian. Losing a loved one is so difficult but it's very comforting to know it was peaceful and quick. You are your family are in my prayers. We are all here for you if you need a "shoulder" to cry on.

@trkyvic0327 I was going to give up my (much loved) diet coke but changed back to chocolate. I've heard to many people feeling bad and getting bad headaches when they stop cold turkey and I didn't want to deal with all that during the challenge, so I'm back to chocolate (which will be difficult enough!) So, first morning with no chocolate... only 4 more days to go...

Good luck to everyone else with whatever they are giving up!! It'll be tough but we can do it.

This challenge has been the change I needed. It has definitely got me out of my comfort zone. Did the elliptical machine for the first time in year. Don't know if I can do 10+ miles, but heres to going for it. I so enjoy the trips.

We're in need of back-up players for the Wait-List. If you know of anyone who might be interested in trying out the race over the last few weeks, please refer them to the sign-up sheet, which is found on the Main Group page under "Announcements".

    Thank you! :)

    CHALLENGE #1:

I did the 5k frostbite footrace.
I walked (partly and the whole way) to work yesterday and today, which was about 7 km in total. Now that the weather is getting warmer, and it is not so dark anymore, it is much nicer to walk than in winter! Part of the way is through a park, so it is nice to walk there, and a good way to relax and leave work mentally behind.

Challenge 2 done - I did the beginners total body workout. It was nice, and although I was familiar with all the exercises, it was good to have them explained in detail again, to check the form.

    Challenge #1

I did the 5k frostbite footrace today. I walked one of the walking routes I used to do with Bruno, which starts with a steady climb, so is always nice on the return journey. It was a dry, cloudy but bright morning and was nice to do outside as I had just completed a 50 minute step class at the gym.

I am impressed. Great job getting those challenges done! Giving up chocolate? Oh my you guys are doing great! I will give up the gummy bears. Every night, I eat a handful or two with the bf. I could stand to go without the extra calories and sugar. I will have to start today. Although I did pretty good with only eating 4 yesterday.

Yesterday, I managed to reach my step goal of 12500 steps. (This was a breeze for me before the surgery.) Yesterday, I had to do my 30 minutes of walking in 15 minute increments.

I am just happy, I can still walk. The BF thinks it will take me about a month before I can get back to running. So much for running a 5k in March. LOL guess I have to walk it, or aim to run in April/May.

I'm thinking they want just that challenge in the post separate from any other comments other than about that challenge. So when completed the challenge, make a separate post saying so with the separate sentence and all that, but make different posts to comment on other things? That's the way I interpreted it. It probably makes it easier for them to read and verify.

I chose the Treadmill & CrossRamp (it's like the elliptical)
    I walked/Jogged 10.5 miles
I chose the treadmill & CrossRamp since our weather has been cold, lately.
