I wish I could eat cookies for breakfast everyday
I'm over on cals, gonna do some serious stretching tonight but I won't burn enough to fix the problem. I was thinking, I change my "calories burned" to less than half of what my Fitbit actually says when I log on MFP. In reality, if I used the real number I wouldn't be over after stretching. But idk I don't want to "cheat the system", well... cheat MY system. What do you guys think?
Didn't have a chance for my bath today. Well I did, but honestly didn't even have the energy too haha. You know you're not feeling right when you're too lazy to take a bath!!1 -
Evening smashers! Glad y'all liked the kangaroo pictures Last I logged we are 147 points behind team 1 - they currently have 4,729 miles and 110 challenge points, we have 3467 miles and 90 challenge points. Looks like we are keeping up on challenge points, so that's awesome. I had a very active day today - completed challenge 1, did 15 minutes of challenge 2, and I'm 3/5 days under. I'm 259/700 minutes now, had a late start in the beginning of the week but I'm trying to make up for it.
I think we must be all syncing up over the internet because it's my almost TOM too and I'm dyiiiing for food. Something deep fried. And salty. Maybe covered in chocolate. A donut!!! Or no a pretzel. Ugh. I've been losing and gaining the same two pounds for the past two weeks and it's driving me insane. I finally took some pictures of me in my barely too tight pants, so I'll use that as comparison when the challenge is over. Maybe I can be that person that's like "Hey, here's me at 150... and omg here's me at 150 too! The scale lies!" One can dream, right?
@SmashleyM914 HMM... that's a tough call. I too have my fitbit synced on to MFP and I'm wondering if maybe I'm overshooting my calories and that's why the scale isn't budging? As to your dilemma, I guess it depends if you think you truly deserved those burned calories. We all crap days food wise, but if you paid for it by working out and feel good about that - then I would count it.2 -

Tuesday - 220 stairs

@ddeliciosa that 100% can be you!! Take it from someone whose witnessed it on her own body. Doesn't mean that I don't still get pissed at the scale though.
I stretched tonight, but only burned 20 cals. I'm just gonna chalk up today as a loss, I tell myself I burned less calories for a reason so I'm not going to change my way of doing things just for this challenge. I'll just have to be more careful over the weekend!
Goodnight, Smashers3 -

Hey Smashers!!!
I woke up this morning and I was definitely feelin myself! Seeing change is great, what bums me out is I'll still be mad when the scale doesn't budge tomorrow morning
I didn't have the greatest workout today which I'm surprised about because I did feel so good when I woke up, and like I was gonna kill it, but just wasn't feelin it when I got to the gym. It's okay though! Go big or go home is not always true when it comes to working out. Any workout is better than no workout Especially when you're still a bit sore.
Happy Friday eve!3 -

Thanks for all the love, Smashers...my bum is feeling much better today :P Still a little sore but I can move around better now. I actually managed to run yesterday, though at an admittedly much slower pace because ouch. And pretty much all the ice has melted! It has warmed up significantly here in the mountain west. I didn't even bring a jacket to work today. Love it. I did some of the youtube videos this morning and stayed active to count minutes, and I'm planning to hit the gym on my lunch break. I'm planning to do the challenge 2 stuff tomorrow.
Yesterday was a very interesting day. I'm not sure if I've mentioned it on this thread but I struggled with obesity since I was a child and graduated high school at over 300 lbs. I lost a bit in college, but after I got married and had my first child, I ultimately got up to over 400 lbs, had high blood pressure, was pre-diabetic, and was just headed towards an early grave. And I wasn't even 30 yet. So, in 2011 I had gastric bypass surgery, which literally saved my life. Now, 6 years later, I am down nearly 240 lbs. I had a check-up yesterday with my doctor to check labs and stuff, and they showed me a picture from my pre-op appointments...had to share. I hope you don't mind indulging me. Left side was in January 2011, right side was yesterday. Wow.
I was just completely blown away and almost in tears. I am so, so grateful to not be that person anymore. I am so thankful for my health, my newfound love of running, and the miracle of modern medicine that gave me the tool I needed to fight against the demons that plagued me since I was a child.12 -
@mari_moulin you are a machine! I don't know how you find the time to do all those minutes. Keep it up
@SmashleyM914 I don't think of it as cheating the system, per se, but it's really up to you. I use the MapMyRun app for my runs and I think it drastically overestimates on calories, so I try not to eat them all back but I still let it record them. You do what works for you, ya know?1 -

I dedicate my mornings to the GYM (except Tuesdays, that's the afternoon) I spend a minimum of 2 hours there working out. That's not including the extra I do at home if I have time. I also do aqua gym on Thursdays (tonight) so I still have extra minutes coming in. I'm here to win!4 -
@carinamenina You're truly amazing! Such a wonderful accomplishment for you!!!
Yaaas @mari_moulin keep it rollin! You're awesome!3 -
What the funk Smashers, Team 1 is killin us this week!! They're ahead by 258 points!!
1,650 miles ahead of us, they've already made it to our destination. 40 challenge points ahead, too!
One teammate for them hasn't logged yet and we've got 2 teammates without any logging @lynnbaum @ShansGotGoals Luckily they've both got a history of big numbers, with @ShansGotGoals nearly doubling the weekly maximum for weeks one and two!
They've got 7 people in the top 25 power ranking and we've got 6 - @ShansGotGoals @mari_moulin myself, @MonicaA2013 @Scherzie and @darcijojo
I, myself finished the stairs challenge this morning, I'll get the videos done today, and I went over my cals yesterday, so after Saturday I should be able to get all of my challenge points! I've stuck with my goal of getting 100+ minutes/day so far which I'm also pretty stoked about.
What do you guys have to do to reach your goals you made at the beginning of this week??
Keep them in mind, I know the week is nearing the end but we've got to end it out strong! Go! Go! Go!!
Also, we've made it to our destination by Friday every week so far, let's get it done again this week! 1,525 more miles!3 -
@carinamenina You don't even look like the same person. Congratulations!
I'm still on target to max out this week. Did 90 minutes in the pool this morning and still have plans for some things at home. It should be a big number day for me. I didn't get the other balance blender done yesterday, but will today. Still on track to claim the calorie points tomorrow too.
I think team 1 is going to have several max out minutes again this week. If they do it early enough then we know what we are dealing with.
I'm hoping that I can get enough minutes in to have a more restful day on Sunday.
@MonicaA2013 @mari_moulin You are doing great on those exercise minutes! Totally on target to max out this week.
2 -
Im gonna be maxing out on minutes tomorrow and should complete challenge 3. I am still working on challenge 1. Sorry it's taking so long but I'm getting there. I will reach that stair goal!!!2

Went to the student gym on my lunch bread and it was closed due to a broken AC So I went to the faculty gym (I work at a university), which is much smaller. The one elliptical machine was in use so I power-walked on the treadmill because I wanted to give my knees a break from running. At least it added some minutes to my totals. I don't how people get 100+ minutes every day! I could probably do that if I only slept for like 4 hours a night :P Stupid jobs that take up my time. At least I'll be getting a long run in on Saturday, so that'll be like 2+ hours5

Weight Loss Leader Sheet has been updated.1

I just finished the stair challenge !! AND got some running in before the rain started up again. Going to update the spreadsheet now .....
total stairs just today was 1400, not to mention the couple hundred i got the last couple days..lol. I might just start going to the city hall building during my run from now on.. go up and down the stairs a couple times then push on through the run. would make for great extra minutes and calorie burns.3 -
Okay, wall cleaning days are officially my least favorite cleaning days. I have 2 family rooms and the room of the week was family room and laundry room. I also included the staitwell in the "family rooms" because it's really the only thing dividing the 2. Scrubbing walls, baseboards, vacuuming and mopping all of those rooms was just too much for one day!! I'm giving myself exercise minutes, that was rough and I'm sweating. I was just scrubbing for 3 hours3
-
@carinamenina Wow, that's an incredible transformation! You should be very proud for taking charge of your health!
I did 85 minutes today - most of it walking up and down 2 flights of stairs inside. We got hit with some snow, so not a lot of walking outside for me. Completed another 15 minutes of the balance video - challenge 1 & 2 are wrapped up! This *should* be day 4/5 for under calories for me, but I still need to log some things. Fingers crossed.
I'm currently 345/700 minutes needed for this week. Hopefully if the weather cooperates, I can knock out the rest of the minutes with a huge walk or hike. I've started incorporating some yoga, so that'll bump me up too. I don't have any exams next week so this weekend should be pretty relaxed. I'm confident that I can meet the max.
Any word from @ShansGotGoals or @lynnbaum? Despite having two key members not log yet, we still have a solid 2nd place lead. Great job pitching in everybody
3 -
Nope still nothing from either of them. If I remember correctly, I think I saw they were both logged in today so they haven't completely gone rogue. I'll check on my desktop tomorrow if they've seen my messages. Maybe if some of you other smashers want to reach out to them as well they'll pop in...2
-
@ShansGotGoals has logged her M-W minutes but still nothing from @lynnbaum . I just added the rest of my minutes for today and we are sitting about 100 points down from first place.
We have reached our destination already with a little extra !!!
I will be going WELL over my 700 minutes this week with 3 days left, YYYEEEAAAA !!
Hope to see everyone else log in before the end, would LOVE to take first this week !!
LETS GO SMASHERS !!!3 -

Sorry all, I kind of let us all down today. I did my first 15 minutes of stretching this morning but then we got some sad news. Our youngest daughter is miscarrying their baby that was due in July. I spent most of the morning trying to get her into see a doctor and then most of the afternoon with her there while her husband watched their two boys. I will try to do better tomorrow.0

@tarpguys I am so very sorry for your family's loss Take the time you need, love.1

@carinamenina -Wow, you don't even look like the same person. Great job!
I got in 80 minutes yesterday, but only had 6 flights of stairs, so I need to catch up. Yesterday was the 7th year anniversary of my daughter passing away from complications from H1N1/pneumonia, so kind of a rough day. The exercising helped keep my mind off of it a little though. Today I have to go to a funeral for a family friend, so a rough week in general.

@tarpguys Your family comes first no need to apologize ! I am so sorry to hear of such sad news I know how you were all looking forward to the new little one. My hear goes out to each and everyone of you. (been there myself i know the pain)

All i need to do is stay under calories one more day and i got this week in the bag. The remainder of my minutes is gonna be easy peasy too.
WELL DONE SMASHERS !!!3 -
There is nothing I can really say about this week. I had to do a presentation for my history seekers. It went well but it is a ton of but time. I say this only because it makes me really understand how much work goes into these challenges. I got to the gym last night and up this morning to get the videos done. I got 900 of those stairs done on the stairmaster and then I had to get on the treadmill. I wanted to get them all done so I did another 200. I am getting closer. Weekends are really rough for me the calorie thing. I am so done with this yo-yo thing. I would say I also had visitor tues & wed., pot luck on Monday but No pity party. This is a challenge not a record of -more of crappy habits.
4 -
@tarpguys I am so sorry for your family's loss I'm praying for healing and comfort for you all during this time.
@lynnbaum Way to go! It sounds like your mind is in the right place. It's hard to make time to work out and eat right almost every day, but then it wouldn't be a challenge.
I talked to Shan and right now she's having issues getting onto the community thread. She's still smashin' it though!3
