Grr!! So frustrating!! We are totally capable of beating them, we just need a couple teammates to step their game up! Each week they beat us, they get a better overall lead. Let's go, Smashers!! And don't forget - never miss a Monday!!2
-
Phew! They sure are making us work for those challenge points, huh? Let's get it done team!! The water challenge will be easy peasy for me.2
-
We're so close! I don't know if I can max out in minutes this week, but I'll try. I'm leaving at 10 for a business trip, and will be back late Thursday night. I'll try to catch up on the weekend.
It will be a challenge for me to drink the water plain (I don't like lemon in it). I usually add flavoring. I will try it without the flavoring, so we can get the challenge points!
@lynnbaum That lasagna looks great!
@MonicaA2013 I don't like raw tomatoes either. I love salsa, tomato sauce, pizza sauce, just not raw tomatoes.
@plainanjelik You were braver than me. I made my husband cod last night, and could not get up the nerve to taste it.
@carinamenina Hope your son is feeling better!

@SmashleyM914 The fridge is the result of wanting to do well on this challenge. I want to do well on the weightloss part and I have tested this out that you have to look forward to the good things you are eating and stop thinking that you are missing out. I am happy to report that not only is the scale going back down but the BF% is too.4

Pleasetell me we get points for eating GELATO this week. I am losing my taste for sugar which is a huge thing for me.2

Hi all!
Venice is somewhere that is definitely on my bucket list! It looks so beautiful!
Video challenges are tough for me in our little house. I will do my best to get them done on Tuesday & Thursday. Water is easy peasy. I try to drink 3-4 litres a day so 64 ounces is nothing!
We were so close. I thought we had it last night, because we were ahead of team 1 at 9pm.
I only have 2 weeks until I go on vacation, so my goal for the next 2 weeks is 15000-20000 steps per day so that I am ready for Magic Kingdom, Universal Studios & the cruise. The weather looks like it is cooperating,so it should be attainable.4 -
I too am a big water drinker2
-
Hey there, Smashers! Hope everyone's slaying their Monday. My little dude doesn't go back to school until Thursday! We made a deal that he would wake up early today and come into the office with me for a good 8 hours, and Tuesday and Wednesday he could sleep in and hangout at home while I worked from home. All about negotiation with this one, I tell ya
I had a busy weekend, I didn't do any meal prep yesterday. Not because I was being lazy, but because other than a beauty appointment, I spent my entire day outside! I pulled weeds, did other yard work, man I forgot how tiring that is haha. Then played some baseball with my hubby and son. We try to play a game everyday when it's nice out. Baseball is a HUGE part of our lives, so we love to play a family game when we can It's so tiring, because we play each other, so when I'm up to bat, I hit the ball, see how many bases I can run, then a "ghost" stands on that base when I run back to bat again. Lots of running around when you're up to bat, because you're the only batter on your team! And when my hubby and son are up to bat, there's lots of running to get the ball and try to tag them out. Phew, great workout and a great time!!
I'm going to evaluate the sheets from last week and send some messages out, I'm determined to beat Team 1!!2 -
Taking a vote here... I've made a spreadsheet showing peoples numbers over the past weeks, making it easier to see who needs to step their game up. I need votes weather you guys would like me to keep it to myself and send messages privately, or who would prefer if I posted a screenshot of the results.
Let me know what you think by tomorrow morning0 -
I really want to beat team 1, so annoying that we are so close every week. The 700 minutes are hard to get, but doable. My body is tired and I have days where I don't want to do anything but then I think of the team and the goals I've set and start moving. All the minutes are making the scale move also. Another 3lbs gone this week!6

@SmashleyM914 I like to win! I don't know how to get others to step up though. Driving me nuts that I'm doing all I can and we are still in second. Just a few more minutes for those not maxing out would help immensly.3

This weeks challenges are going to be a snap for me. If the weather here would cooperate i could get all my minutes done quickly too. As for the WATER .. I GOT THIS !!!

@SmashleyM914 I think it would be better to just do the private messages. To me it would seem a bit embarrassing to put it out for all to see. I mean we all have a good idea who is doing what, but i wouldn't want anyone to feel like they are not trying hard enough or something by posting the breakdown. We are a team after all, not competing against each other. Just my personal feelings if i were to be put out in front of everyone like that.
LETS GO TEAM SMASHERS !!!!!4 -

@darcijojo I know, it's frustrating I sent a few DMs a little bit ago, hopefully that helps!1 -
@SmashleyM914 We are gearing up for baseball season here also. I enjoy watching my son play, but sometimes the number of games is hard. What position does your son play?0
-
@darcijojo He's so young [just 6], so he's not in a set position just yet. But he just loves to play first. Poor kid is at a frustrating time though, half the kids he's playing with are too busy picking dandelions in the field to pay attention, but his head is very much in the game. It just stinks because there's no outlet for him right now, no travel or elite team for him to get on or anything so he's stuck where he's at and our league is not making it easy for us to move up. We're planning on getting into travel next season, he'll be a young player but he excels so I think he'll do just fine!! How about your son??

Fine!! I get the hint. I am going down to get my rebounder.

I just looked at team 1. How do you get 260 min in 1 day?? Let me do some math. That is like 4.5 hours of working out. Good thing there is a cap. Person must be on vacation0

Hello from Team 6!
I thought the same thing as you my first go through this challenge. Then I met so many different people from different walks of life than mine that I was able to answer the same question you had.
The person getting those high numbers could just be in a different season of their life than you and has more free time to exercise like that. Some people have kids and/or work and can only get in 20-30 mins of exercise a day. Others have kids who are grown, and they have more time to go hiking, walking, or any exercising really. I am a stay at home mom and incorporate intentional exercise throughout my day as much as humanly possible. While 260 mins in a day is a lot, I have hit that on rare occasion. Especially on weekends. I find that if it weren't for these challenges and the support of my entire family, I wouldn't be movin' and groovin' quite so much. So for me, I'm somewhere in the middle. I have a kid, but I am making an extra effort to move as much as possible each day and complete points for my team in this challenge and others.
Good luck to your team! Would love to see y'all pull ahead this week and shake up the totals sheet!
Happy Monday!
Vicki from team Sixpack!6 -
Gah, it's so frustrating to be so close and yet so far when all is said and done. I'm going to do all I can to max out this week, even if it means more and more circles from my kitchen to my son's room and back. At least I can get some reading in while I do it :P
I ran 5 miles today, plus walked a bit and watched all the "get X extra minutes if you stay active while watching this" videos, so finished at over 100. I'll get going on challenges 1 and 2 tomorrow. And 80 oz of water, straight up water, down the hatch for me today! That's rare for a day at home. I usually have to add some Crystal Light or something to get it all in. Fortunately, it shouldn't be hard the rest of the week while at work...I'm used to making myself drink three 24-oz bottles throughout the day. Just sip sip sip all day long.
All the best to you this week, Smashers! Let's keep up the good work!3 -
Man oh man... getting 1st place is SO CLOSE, yet so far away. I will admit I failed and didn't max out like I wanted to last week, but I'm looking to redeem myself this week. One of my organizations at school is doing a national step challenge, so I was super active today and got ~20,000 steps in. I did my first Zumba class ever and lots of walks around town to stay active.
@lynnbaum Let's make the big minuters on the other team our motivation! I don't think I can get beyond 4 hours in a day, but I could definitely break up an hour walk in the morning, hour in the evening, and like 45 minutes at the gym if I was really inspired.
@TrkyVic0327 Thanks for the insight and encouragement! Best of luck to the six packers.
Got my water in for the day - I have a big 32 oz bottle that I fill out through the day multiple times. I don't normally log it, but it shouldn't be an issue meeting the goal!3 -
Hi Smashers. I went for a run this morning. I'm still in the run/walk phase but my phone gave me less than 1/3 credit for what I did. Did 2 miles and it's telling me I only did 0.75 miles. Looking at the GPS map it seems I learned to teleport and walk through walls. The walking through walls thing is a bit creepy but teleporting is something I could get used to! I'd never be late .
Anyway yesterday I had the day off work and spent almost all of it exercising. Went for a walk while doing the credit for watching videos, completed challenge 1, did some yoga, practiced my martial arts forms, then in the evening went to a 30 minute cardio kickboxing class followed by 45 mins martial arts training.7 -
I am up looking to get some blood moving. Time to turn on some videos. I hope they are some real movers because it is cold in our basement.
BTW Team 6 had a reply for the 240 min. I still think they are out hiking some place so they are going to be hard to beat this week. I am kicking it up. It is nice weather here in WI. I tell you that when I was in NY we walked 35,000 steps in 1 day. We were there over a long weekend. I am a big walker/hiker in the warmer weather.3 -
I know there are days during peak training where I am exercising over 8 hours in one day- its just different for everyone. We are about to do a century ride (100 miles on a bike) and depending on the wind it will take 6-8 hrs alone.2
-
@mckeon11 I now people that do that here in WI. They call it the heat stroke 100 Your right you do have to really train for things like that. I am thinking and know it is easier to stay in condition then it is to get into. I want to go the hiking trail around the local lake this summer. I think it takes about 4 hours. 21miles it is http://wisconsin-explorer.blogspot.com/2015/08/hiking-lake-geneva-lake-shore-path.html. Because I am older is it too darn funny that the first thing I had to look for are the poddy stops.3
-
They have a WI see they go any where from 2.8 miles up to that 21 mile one. See what happens when you question things and explore. Some people plan camping around activities like food or wine, might have to do a bunch of hiking trails this summer along with those wineries.3
-
Challenge #1, done! I gotta say, I'm not so much a fan of group cardio videos All the comments from the girls behind the main one were really bugging me towards the end :P But hey, it's done, more minutes to log, and it was a decent workout even if I had to do most of the modifications because my body just doesn't want to do what they could do! Hah!
I'm impressed with those that are able to do so much exercising every day. I wish I could be more active but I'm just at a stage in my life where I only have so much time that's not already committed to sitting in front of a computer or something like that. I'm putting in what I can, though! I'm really looking forward to the summer so I can hike more with my kids. We started doing that a lot last summer and it was so nice. There are tons of places around here, national parks down south, etc. Gotta take advantage!5 -
Good morning Smashers.
I did the challenge #2 video & will save the first one for Thursday. I am going to do my best to get 100 minutes everyday this week. I don't have much going on for the next 2 weeks except to concentrate on exercising & diet.
My body does what it does, but I would really like to kick my weight loss in gear so that my cruise pictures look a little better this year. I have to keep telling myself that it is not a race, weight loss is not linear, eating at too much of a deficit causes more harm than good... blah, blah blah. I just want it gone3
