Sorry to anyone who sees this in the "share your meal" thread. I like to keep tabs in here for my benefit and so I don't forget anything. This way, if I have a bad week, I can easily check out my pictures and see where I went wrong. lol
8oz. Ribeye steak, baked potato with 1 piece of bacon, 1tsp butter, 1tbsp sour cream, 1/8 sharp shredded cheddar cheese, 1 cup lima beans. I forgot to make my dessert before eating... 1/2 cup greek yogurt (vanilla) and 1tsp natural creamy peanut butter. Total calories for the meal is 1486 calories.

I'm bummed this morning, and starting get upset. I should not have rode along with my hubby when he went golfing yesterday. It was too soon for my back and it didn't matter that he took it easy driving the cart. :-( I'm concerned about our trip to London. I don't have a regular doctor, just a family practice that I rarely go to. This back problem is going to ruin this trip for me and my husband. It's not just sciatic nerve pain anymore, it's like I've also aggravated the osteoarthritis which had let up significantly since starting OMAD. Oh, and I don't know why, it's not like a wanted it or was hungry--I never eat my exercise calories back--I had a Snickers two pack. Kicking myself for that. :-(0

I'm so sorry for your pain. Are you taking any calcium and vit d supplements? If not, you should. I suggest you take complete rest until your trip. Plus try a home massage of the area with hot coconut or sesame oil. It helps a lot. You may also burn some camphor in the oil. Just put camphor in the oil while it's hot. And then once it dissolves, massage with it. I have done this many times and it really helps in soothing the pain or any internal inflammation if any.0 -
Thanks so much, @mikseyniha. No, I get enough sun not to need vitamin D, but I should take a calcium supplement. I've been using trigger point therapy on the spots affected with a ball, it does help alleviate the pain for awhile; I especially found it helpful after taking a hot shower this morning and then using a ball, as well as a "roller log thingy" with hard foam knots on it. The oil sounds like a great idea, I happen to have coconut oil in the cupboard, maybe I'll try that today as well.1

Don't take vit d for granted. I live on a very sunny island in the Mediterranean and most of us have vit d deficiencies.
I'm really sorry abt ur back0 -
Oh goodness, maybe I should have D levels checked then. I'm a Floridian, so I understand the sun thing. And, thank you. I'll keep working on it in hopes it'll get better.0

Stay away from sugar (includes fruit juices and bleached flour/rice), it agrevates my gout (a form of arthritis). It may help with your inflamation. Just allow slow release carbs (fruit/with fiber, whole grains, legumes, etc). Some people go keto to help with this..1
-
Agree with @blambo61 - stay away from sugar and carbs. When I indulge in these things, my body swells, my knees get bad, my old shoulder injury flares up.1

Thanks for the suggestions. I have rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, so I understand. I get all my carbs from fruit and chia seeds, veggies and potatoes, occasionally white rice and I've only had white breads twice in two weeks. My RA hasn't activated since starting OMAD and dropping my sugary coffee creamer, I drink straight black now.0

You're doing good.0

Thanks mlkseyniha, with the eating, yes I am. The back, not so much. Think I'm caving today and going to a doctor. I'm up now because the pain is so bad, cannot imagine a six hour plane trip like this or even enjoying vacation without being in pain. I hate this, but OTCs aren't cutting it, especially at night. :-(0

Absolutely get help for so much pain! I used to have back pain on planes, but found that I could prevent it by taking a large handful of aspirin before any plane trip. Not what I admit to anyone who would scold me for it! Especially not my doctor. But your pain sounds a lot worse than mine. I have a lot of crushed vertebrae in my lower back, from an ice skating fall when I was 16. Those smashed little discs give me problems - i.e. can't walk! - if I jar them when the plane is landing. So I now put my hands on the armrests and hold my butt off the seat during landing. No problems anymore!

@amflautist OMG, that sounds awful regarding the smashed discs. I'm so sorry you live with pain like that. I don't blame for taking a handful of aspirin. Hope you don't mind if I borrow your armrest idea, sounds like a good thing to do!0

When do you leave Sandy?0

@1MADGIRL, Friday. Just got back from doctor a little bit ago. I got a steroid shot in the booty and flexeril. She thinks it'll get better in a couple of weeks but told me to come back again if it doesn't. Pain should be manageable in London. :-)
Edited to add: So happy my scale is spot on with Publix and doctor's office. So, I've actually dropped another pound since Friday. I hope it stays off. :-)0 -
Hopefully you're on the mend now and congrats on another pound gone1

Good luck!1

Thank you both :-)1

You're doing great! You have to take care of you. Hopefully your siatic pain lessens. Good job on the loss!1
