Pam - we have target - not a store I frequent but I think it's hilarious anyway.

I have 4 volunteers coming this morning to help me get the boxes of the next mailing ready for volunteers to assemble. Because I really can't do it by myself. DH is peeved but hopefully they'll be gone before he gets home from work and he'll get over it.

Maryanne--It is good that you have volunteers to help you with the mailing. Since DH is hopefully gone, they really won't be on his nerves invading his peace.

I just put in an hour of exercise while watching "My 600Lb Life."

If he's peeved, the solution would be for him to do the mailing for you. I'll bet he'd pick having the volunteers over rather than doing the work himself. LOL

I stopped here first. Now I'm going to log in my breakfast.

Helene--Good job on the logging. I agree with you about Maryanne's DH doing the mailing would change his mindset.

    Pam--So, so true!!

I can tell the humidity is up today. The sandals that fit perfectly yesterday are now tight. I'll probably have strap marks on my feet when I take them off.

Helene--That is definitely a way to tell about the amount of humidity. The heat index is slightly over 100 right now and people are urged to be cautious with outdoor activities. Tomorrow is expected to be worse with a heat index of 110. I don't think I'll be venturing out tomorrow and am really debating going to the Post Office this evening to get the mail.

I haven't left the house today because of the heat. I'm keeping a low profile until the heat breaks. I have nothing special that has to be done for the next few days.

I ventured out this afternoon for a quick Target run for some frozen dinners and other necessities. I think the temp was around 103 when I got home, but that’s fairly common here in Texas during the summer. I’m not sure about the heat index, but it was probably around 105. I’d have to stay indoors the whole summer if I avoided going out due to above 100 degree temps, lol! Thank goodness for air conditioned houses, stores, and cars!!!!

Maryanne--Love the meme in recognition of today

A fun history lesson! Before the colonies declared their independence from England, the colonies (now USA) were blessed with all the prisoners England wanted off its shores. Afterwards, England had to ship the prisoners elsewhere so they chose to ship them to the Rocks area of Australia. That became the foundation of one of the world's largest cities: Sydney, Australia.

Pam--That is a great one. I'm tempted to copy it and send it to a Sheriff friend of mine. I think I am more than tempted.

Did anyone watch the Crown on Netflix? I have a new appreciation for the Queen after seeing that. She's a remarkably strong woman. I loved the lime green suit she wore to Harry's wedding.

Helene--I've watched all the episodes of The Crown twice. She definitely is a very strong woman. She was also a mechanic in the service during the World War. She was not born expecting the role she would be playing. I think it is remarkable how agile she and Prince Phillip are for their ages.

They are amazing for being in their 90s. She was in a tough position of having to put the country before family. The episode about Princess Margaret were heartbreaking. Phillip and Charles' experiences in boarding school were tough. I don't know if the younger generation will make the same choices or if family will play a bigger role. I'd hope William doesn't put his children into a boarding school experience like that at such a young age.

I had to go back to the logging page to check. Today was my 14th day of logging. o far, I have one pound to show for it. But I'm expecting it to drop another pound some day this week. That's the way I usually lose.
