@77tes I wonder if Curves is like the "circuit" they have set up at Planet Fitness? It looks very similar and I really want to try it, but I have no idea how to use the machines in the circuit and I'm kind of shy in front of people with stuff like that. Do you feel it would be difficult for someone to teach themselves? Of course, I won't be able to do it until after I rehab from next week's surgery, but once I'm healed I really want to get moving and get healthy!1
-
@PackerFanInGB , hope the surgery and rehab goes well. I'm wondering about the circuit at the YMCA, too. The !ocal Y is offering a deal to Curves members, and they have a similar circuit set up to The one you described at Planet Fitness. The nice thing about Curves is that the machines are hydraulic so you don't need to adjust the weight to use them - the harder you push, the more resistance you have. I'm afraid the longer drive will mean I skip workouts after a while. Hmm, decisions,decisions!1
-
@77tes I think the hydraulic machines are a huge plus! I will definitely have to check it out! Thank you!1

Thankfully, that’s what my Fitbit does! The app “Move Your App” is also worth checking out.
But it is easy to ignore the hourly reminders. Maybe we need “smart chairs” so that if we don’t get up hourly the seat keeps tilting downward until they drop us on the floor and we’re forced to get up and move?3 -
20 minute bike ride.

Got the video games set up. Since rain is expected going to do 1 hour of live video games.3

20 minutes on the treadmill. I'm focusing on increasing the speed at which I walk on the treadmill. It has to be a slow enough speed that I can still read and post comments on social media (including to this group!) but I'm upping the tempo. Out of habit, I would set the speed at 1.6 MPH. Now I can read and post at 2.4 MPH! Each day, that's a few hundred more steps. But done everyday, that's A LOT more steps!5
