Question for anyone with a Fitbit or Fitbit type device.
How accurate do you feel the calorie burned number is? I’ve read other threads and it seems very individual, but just thought I’d get some opinions here.
Mine says on an average day with about 1 hour of working out (cardio and weights) I burn 4400-4800 calories. I’m 6’4” and 247 so my BMR is about 2140 and MFP sets my calories at 1990 to lose 2 pounds per week. I am starting to feel comfortable eating more of the calories back from exercise, but not close to half yet because I’m worried about a large discrepancy. Since I got the Fitbit im seeing a +1400 calories from exercise and it seems a bit crazy.
Anyway, curious about your experiences with this.

I don't usually count the burn from walking but I have found my workouts have been accurate toward what I would be putting in the MFP data base. I was concerned too, so for two days kept a log to compare. I actually found the fit bit recorded less calorie burn the MFP suggested. Mind you, I have also noticed depending how you eat and how consistently active you are throughout the day, the calorie burn will raise and drop for example i have burned 99 calories walking 2000 steps this morning...but it will drop to 0 if that is all the walking I have accomplished today. I would stick to a specific number for eating and raise and lower depending on how active you are..but keep a number in mind that won't effect your out calorie burn.1 -

@eminater, hi there. It seems you were in Big Butt Theory and you made your first post on this thread. Then you posted in the Flab-u-less thread, perhaps by mistake. So I am assuming that captain got you moved over officially. You were on the spreadsheet for team The Big Butt Theory, but now you are on the spreadsheet for team Flab-u-less. If you are okay with that, then we'll just leave it. If you would like to be moved back, I would need your explicit say-so. I wouldn't want to seem like I was poaching! I don't know the other captains, but looking through that thread to find out what may have happened in your case, she seems like she is good and engaging with her team mates. It's your call.1 -

Okay last week (week 4 of Dec.) - 293.6 still doing okay not losing much or gaining but I'm back on the straight and narrow today!! We are going on week of sickness which is sinuses so nothing smells good...its hard to eat healthy. We will do it this week!!

Hi! I'm Brandi, a 34 y/o from Tennessee. Due to being less active and not keeping track of calories (mostly drinking too much soda) I Have gained more weight than I am comfortable with. I have spent a lot of time complaining about my weight. Now, I'm ready to do something about it. I would like to lose 30 lbs and go from there.12.30.18

I think I was 186 last week so happy with that as I feel like I had a good Christmas without eating everything in sight. Did enjoy some cheese and wine though!

Our first weigh-in for the January Challenge! Pam, I have your starting weight as 220.6. If that is right, then you have gained 13 pounds in a week, which would be mostly water, of course. So, drink up, and start moving as much as your cold allows you to do. (hugs)
