Jean, that’s hilarious! It was chilly today but a heavy sweater kept me warm enough when I went to therapy. There were only 2 of us getting therapy today, compared to 5 on Friday. I had a mixup with my time Friday. I thought my appointment was at 1:20 and it was actually at 2:40. I must have read the wrong day on the calendar. Dan had a cancellation at 2 and I said I take it. DH had dropped me off so I walked down the street to meet him. He was picking up sandwiches for a us at the deli. As he was backing out in the parking lot, another car across from him backed out simultaneously and they had a fender bender. She was driving a rental car and had some paint transfer and scratches. We just had paint transfer. DH called the insurance company to report the accident. We’re not filing a claim. If the rental company claim, the auto liability policy will cover it.

Jean - stats on the Quaker fiber & protein cereal are almost the same as weight control. 10 less calories, .5g less fat, 15 mg less potassium, 1 g less carbs, same protein. When you go to the quaker site and look at the fiber & protein, then click on "buy online", it sends you to listings for weight control. So I think the fiber & protein is a slight redo of weight control and should serve the same purpose for us.

Maryanne--Thanks for the info on the oatmeal. We have a delay because of the single digit temps. I'm watching flowers being presented on QVC. Such a great contrast to Winter.

I ordered weight control variety packs from walmart. What they sent is fiber + protein. So apparently everyone is treating them as the same thing.

As a retired librarian, I really love this cartoon. Today’s a therapy day. I find I’m sleeping better since I started and the pain level is much less. I finished 6 weeks and Dan has extended me another 6 weeks. He thinks I’l probably be done before that but with the tourists coming back, appointments are harder to get. We’ll cancel any I don’t need but I’m all set if I need them.

UGH - plumber here for 3 hours again. More roots in the sewer system. Plumbing seems so primitive.

Maryanne--The cat book title I really liked was "How to Avoid the Vet."

Helene--The PT us really paying off for you. Good planning on the appointments.

Watching My 600Lb Life and "Justin's Life."

Great tweet, sort of sums up the nonsense coming from the administration:

Lara Trump: let them eat cake.

Wilbur Ross: get a loan for the cake.

Kevin Hassett: They’re better off without the cake.

Larry Kudlow: They’re volunteering to get the cake.

Donald Trump: Cake is free at the grocery store

I wish the Orange One would resign, but that is wishful thinking. On something, I can control, I didn't eat cake tonight but I did have a Lean Cuisine PIzza.

Thank goodness the shutdown is ending. According to the news, it’s a temporary 3 week opening. I’m hoping it becomes permanent. Trump had to back down and got no wall concessions so I hope he’d think twice about doing it again. You know what they say about doing the same thing and expecting to get different results. The poor contract workers are out of luck on back pay. What a terrible position to put hard working people in.

My best friend will be glad to go back to work but this whole thing has been nuts! I hope he uses this 3-week period to quietly slide out of this one. He's already working on how to declare victory.

My personal hope is that New York finally gets him and his kids for money laundering. I suspect there's a case there. And he can't pardon anyone for state charges. The House is going to start digging into Deutsche Bank and IMHO that's a good place to look. Why were they the only bank that would lend to him? And they're now being looked at for money laundering.

Of course the problem with getting rid of the orange cheeto (heh, he's not the only one that can make up nicknames LOL!) is our vice president may be worse. DH certainly believes he'd be worse.

Maryanne, I agree with your DH about Pence. I think he holds some very extreme religious beliefs that he would feel compelled to try to apply in a lot of areas. I hope you’re right about the money laundering aspect.

So we had a 35 day government shutdown that ended with the Cheeto taking the exact deal that he refused 35 days ago, and he’s claiming some sort of victory for doing it. The Art of The Deal, indeed. And his base is buying it. I just can’t believe how gullible his base is.

He must live in an alternative universe if he sees any part of this a victory for him.

I just had the Lean Cuisine meat loaf for lunch. I really like it. I never could understand why NS could not have a decent meat loaf.

I think I am in for an afternoon of watching Family by the Ton and My 600Lb. Life. This morning, I was motivated to do my taxes. I get a small amount back from the Feds as I had reduced my estimated tax payments in view of the tax law changes. As usual, I owe the State.

I agree that LC meat loaf is great! My current favorite is their sesame chicken. Probably because I've been hungry for chinese food for aeons and just haven't gotten around to it (DH isn't interested).

We usually owe the feds and get money back from Maryland. DH is all wrapped up in trying to figure out how much we can make in 2020 and 2021 (yes you read that correctly) without having to pay even more for Medicare.

DH just got a strange promotion. New title, more money, same job. The good news is I think he's now motivated even more to keep working knowing they value him. That's fine with me. I SO don't want him to fully retire. He just doesn't know what to get into. (Hence his 2020 and 2021 calculations.)
