Good job, Helene!0

I'm a little disappointed at only 2 articles of impeachment. I think there should be several per day of the so-called presidency. The horrors just never stop.
First headline I see this morning:
Pastor Who Says Jews Are Going To Hell Speaks At Trump’s Hanukkah Party

Say what??? You just can't make this stuff up. And it's never ending.0 -
Couple rainy days coming up and we're at a flea market. At least it's not snow!0

I remember thinKing “At least it’s not snow” before I retired. Now that’s a thing of the past. We had heavy showers yesterday, just before we left for a holiday potluck. It let up as we arrived but got us wet on the trip home. But it’s not snow! We might have showers over the weekend. But 80 degree temps offset getting a little damp.0

My new scale arrived on Thursday. It’s the same scale I bought for my Cape home. As I suspected, the old scale I had in FL weighed heavier than the new scale. It only measures half pound increments while the new scales measures tenths of pounds. I weighed two pounds heavier on the old scale which is a big deal to someone working hard to lose every pound. On the new scale, I’m a pound lighter than my last weigh in on the Cape. So I’m back on track even with Thanksgiving dinner and a holiday buffet in my rear view mirror. I’m continuing to work on my steps and logging my meals. My goal is to maintain where I am over the next two weeks. If I lose any weight, great but that’s not my main focus over Christmas.0

That sounds like a good plan, Helene. And congrats on being a pound lighter, despite holiday indulgences!
I spent the morning and early afternoon making hair bows for my littlest niece, Maelle. She is not yet 2 and her mom asked for hair bows for her. I had fun making them, and I have lots of ribbon left over, but I finally got tired and decided 21 bows will be more than enough. I also picked up a wooden M at Michael’s and hot glued ribbon streamers to the bottom of it and a large bow on the top to hang it to display and store all of the bows. I thought it turned out pretty cute. Hopefully the bows will hold together and stay in her hair.
I’ve got most of the gifts wrapped now and can turn my attention to holiday baking and candy making. I didn’t want to start that too early so everything will be fresher and so I won’t be tempted to eat it. I don’t think I will be making as much as I have in years past. My SIL is dieting, I don’t need it, and MIL supposedly has lost most of her sweet cravings, so I don’t see the need to make a bunch of different cookies and candies this year. I will make a couple of our favorite candies, and maybe a couple of different cookies. I also told a friend I would make some cinnamon rolls for her family and some chocolate chip cookies which are one of her grandsons’ favorites. That should keep me busy most of next week, in between doctor and dental appointments.0 -

The ribbon holder is adorable, and the bows are lovely. Her mother should love them. Good idea cutting back on the baking and candy making. That way you won’t be too tired to enjoy the festivities. Where are you spending Christmas?0

That is such a great present!!
I just realized that I hadn't even thought about ordering my usual treats this holiday. I guess being so busy I can't see straight has a few advantages. LOL!0 -

Love the cat memes. And the one about the remote is hilarious.0

Good morning, everyone. School is closed because of flooding. I've been busy so I've forgotten to check in. Busy doesn't mean it is exciting to report and since we aren't focusing upon weight loss, I've drifted away.
I don't do the jolly ho ho routine, but in case I don't get back in time, Merry Christmas to all!
Now, back to sorting and decluttering.0 -
I made 3000 steps for six days. I gave myself a break Sunday and only walked 2400. Yesterday though, I was right back on track with 3200 steps. I’m down 23 pounds since I left FL last May. I’m looking to maintain over the next two weeks. It would be great if I lose but I won’t pressure myself to lose over Christmas. I’ll keep logging my steps and food but I’ll allow myself flexibility on the days I need it.0

Jean, January is a great time to refocus our weight loss efforts. Let’s commit to making some of our 2020 posts about weight loss and healthy habits. In the meantime, Merry Christmas. Do you get together with friends or family that day? Our holiday will be quiet. My sister, her husband and dog will be with us that week. And I’ll be singing with the church choir Christmas Eve. As everyone has aged, there is no more midnight Mass here. It’s been moved to 10 PM and we’ll all be home and headed for bed when midnight arrives. DH misses the actual midnight Mass but I’m fine with 10 o’clock.0

Definitely a great idea. I do desperately need to get back on track!
You get to spend the holiday with a dog???? For some unknown reason, it's really hit me hard lately that I'll most likely never have a dog. For years I've joked that on my next life or my next husband, whichever came first, I'd have a dog. Don't know why it's suddenly hit me that that means I'll most likely not have a dog. But there it is.0 -
I'm determined to get the freezer cleaned out. It's been too long. So we're going to "eat out of the freezer" for a month or so.0

I’m surprised we never had a dog. DH loves dogs. He can’t pass one on the street without trying to makes friends. If he said he wanted a dog, I’d be right there with him. He tries to make friends with my sister’s significant other’s dog when we visit them in SC. Jiffy is a little, high strung dog. DH tends to crowd him, asking Jiffy to come to him. He makes the dog nervous so Jiffy growls and barks at him. I tell him to ignore the dog and give him space but DH can’t help himself. The only time Jiffy will approach him is there’s a treat in his hand. I give the dog space and he’ll come over and sit by me.
My FL sister’s dog is just the opposite. He’s a Jack Russell and he’s very mellow. The only time he barks is if a stranger is at the door or if he sees another dog. He’s very friendly to DH and to me.
We’ve had three cats over the years and are big cat lovers. They are not great travelers and that’s why we didn’t get another cat. Dogs generally like car trips and it really would be a better fit for our current lifestyle.0 -
Helene--January is always a good time to refocus. In the meantime, enjoy this:

Helene - I think you should go on petfinder and look for a middle-aged dog in need of a home!!0

I’m treating myself to a mani/pedi this morning. Afterwards, I’m going across the street to look for a new bathing suit. If I find one, I won’t be using it today. The temps dropped almost 20 degrees since yesterday. It’s in the high 50s today. I’m wearing long pants and a long sleeved shirt. Yesterday was capris and a sleeveless shirt.0
